i have this rom installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2598697
can i update to latest firmare wia OTA ? or i should install 4.2.2 main rom then update ?
You should flash ftf of 15.3.A.1.12 first and then update via OTA to avoid any conflict of system files between that of ROM and the OTA files..
I tried updating my phone via OTA while on Dextrodroid ROM and the update was unsuccessful..

Is there any way to change an ota update into a flashable rom for twrp? I have downloaded the updat and pulled it from my phone.
Hello guys
I have mate 7 tl10 and i rooted it but after root i can't update my firmware with the new ota updates also i tried to download it manually but didn't work with the cwm or even after i restored my stock recovery.
Then i downloaded a new stock firmware and tried to install it but i couldn't do it with any way so pls i need a way to install a new stock firmware with a program like odin which i was using for Samsung.
First install version 119 and then upgrade to latest version.

Just wondering if the Lolipop update brings any updates to the baseband radio and bootloader etc?
If so - anyone know if there is a way to upgrade these without OTA or Flashtool upgrade, I'm using Rooted LB and will need to use a pre-rooted FTF

There is no such thing as a pre-rooted FTF
What you need is a flashable zip and there are plenty in the development section
Sorry, pre-rooted created from FTF
either way OP still unanswered.
Motorola has released new OTA update of 371.4 MB in India.
I read that since I am a rooted user I must not try to flash this update.
I would like the help from xda to install these updates. Should I install stock firmware 6.0.1 first?
Two ways to do it
1. Flash stock ROM 6.0from factory firmware link. Allow ota to download and phone should upgrade to 6.0.1
2. Flash the 6.0.1 stock ROM which is made available in factory firmware link. -Update: 6.0.1 is already the updated system with the new ota of 371mb.
Option 2 is more convenient.
While upgrading to mm 6.0 via ota, on my rooted phone I had tried flashing the stock recovery and cleaning the root. but it did not help and I landed with a soft bootloop. The ota checks for the original fingerprint of the stock system which is why you need to be on stock firmware for the ota update method.
You need stock recovery and stock firmware.

everything's good. Flashed twrp, rooted and running xposed.
my device is currently rooted and i just recieved an update from samsung. i am using a super kernel v1.4 and i would like to update to the lastest version which requires this update from samsung. can i update my device ota or must i download the firmware from sammobile and reflash everything then install everything else again. if i am able to update the phonr ota can i also just flash the new kernel to replace the old one? i want a clean install.
OTA won't work on a custom device (Rooted / Kernel / Recovery), I'm surprised you even got the notification for an update tbh
You'll have to update manually when the firmware arrives as a flashable ROM
