[Q] One S without OS after flashing MAXIMUSHD - HTC One S

Hi,
yesteday I tried to flash on my One S the ROM MaximusHD. I followed the guide till it says to use this command "fastboot flash recovery TWRP2.6.1.0.img" becaus the prompt said this "FAILED (remote: 42 custom id check fail". Then I tried to use this command "fastboot flash recovery TWRP2.6.1.0.img" and the prompt said "error: cannot load 'TWRP2.6.1.0.img': Unknown error". Then I reset the phone and now it's stuck in recovery saying it has no OS and when I try to connect it to the PC it says that it has only 48,6 MB of storage, so I can't upload the backup or the ROM. What do I have to do?
Thank you,
Christian

So the your s-off and no ROM I guess so you will need to do is
*If you have not got in the new twrp on your phone it will not work the older versions are for the old firmware*
Wipe the whole SD card in twrp
Adb push the ROM over
And reboot
If the old twrp is not work you can try and use the recovery switcher made by flyingrub and change it to the new one

I tried to adb push the ROM but it says this "failed to copy 'HTC_One_S_-_MaximusHD_10.0.0.zip' to 'sdcard/HTC_One_S_-_Maximus
HD_10.0.0.zip': No space left on device". I also tried to change recovery but the TWRP stays at v2.3.3.0, even if Aroma told me everything went good.
EDIT: I finally installed TWRP v. 2.6.0.0, I adb pushed ROM and the prompt said "2674 KB/s (686216641 bytes in 250.578s)" but I can't find the zip anywhere...

I finally made it. I flashed the recovery from the Install Package, then I followed the instructions in the MaximusHD page and when I had to flash the recovery, I flashed the .img in the zip

adb and ruu problems

Hi!
First of i got a Htc one S from sweden and have been using utb rom for the last weeks with CWR Touch. After hearing that Cyanigenmod 10 was not as buggy as i thought i decided to use it.
This is what i did:
Downloaded the rom with rom manger - the phone restarted and viped everythig and started to install. It then aborted because of something wrong with the file.
Now i dont have a rom on my phone and i cant acces my SD card where i got other roms waiting for me to install.
When i try to use any ADB commands like "adb devices" nothing shows up under devices.
I tried "adb kill-server" and "adb devices" still nothing. When i use "fastboot devices" my device shows. I have tried both Hboot and Fastboot.
I tried to use one guide i found where someone used "all in one toolkit" to go back to stock recovery, delete space, re-enter recovery but that did not work for me.
I tried to adb push roms to my phone but still, no luck because my phone cant be found.
I tried to use the software "quick adb pusher" and with it i could se my device show and i could acces the storage, but there is a folder named "error device not found".
I tried to use "all in one toolkit" so i atleast could get CWR back on my phone, it flashes and finds my device, but when i try to rebot to recovery nothing happens anymore.
Do anyone have a fix for this? 7h later and im out of ideas.....what ever small ammount of knowledge i have about this ended hours ago and google cant help me anymore.
I even tried to download a ruu to try and install it but keeps telling me its the wrong version and then the installation aborts.
i have htc sync and htc usb drivers.
I also downloaded....well atleast 15 diffrent drivers and tried them still no adb device found.
I tried to download android atk but it complains about me not having java runtime but i installed it.
Im using windows 7 x64 bootcamp and osx

In fastboot you can flash boot images and recoveries.
You can only use ADB when booted (which you can't) or when in recovery.
If you are unable to mount /sdcard in recovery, check the sticky on how to fix unmountable sdcard. It's here in Q&A.
Once you can mount /sdcard in recovery, you can adb push roms to it. You have to be in recovery for that, not in fastboot. First flash the boot image for your rom from fastboot, then boot into recovery and push and flash the rom. Wipe your data and cache.
You can do this either on windows or osx but on osx you dont need drivers so you can't have the wrong ones.
Good hunting,
-Jobo
The CWM version shipped with all-in-one doesn't work. CWM doesn't mount the sdcard anyway. I'd suggest TWRP because it can mount the sdcard and also has other features that CWM lacks.
Just boot into bootloader and in fastboot:
fastboot flash recovery twrpfilename.img
Then do as jobo said within the recovery.

What I meant, and what I think aasterix meant as well, is not mount the sdcard onto your computer over usb, but just mount the sdcard onto the root filesystem in recovery on the device.
If that doesn't work, you have to fix that first using '[HOW-TO] Fix soft brick & error mounting sdcard'. Once you can mount /sdcard in recovery (any custom recovery will do) you're good to push and flash your favorite rom.

[Q] ADB sideload fails?

I recently rooted and installed Cyanogenmod 11(nightly) on my ls970. CM11 was a little glitchy so I decided to downgrade to CM 10.2... but my dumb*ss forgot to wipe CM 11 before I installed 10.2. needless to say it didn't work. I then did a full wipe(the backup I created didn't work) with TWRP and then tried to sideload Cyangogenmod 10.2.. the sideload fails.. so I thought it was an issue with the ROM..So I got the stock ROM from Google and tried to sideload that. The sideload always starts (on both ROMs) but always ends up failing in the end.. Any help would be appreciated.
I also tried to install stock rom via lgnpst but it does not recognize the phone. And all drivers are installed

How about copying the rom by just transfer the Rom.zip to scdard? I really never use adb sideload as there is really no reason to, except it has a chance to be not working...

Which recovery version do you use at the moment?
This is the best recovery you can get --> http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/ls970
for your phone.
Install it using "fastboot".

Could you tell me what you exactly did?
The command must be "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
the recovery.img you extracted from the downloaded zip must be placed in "fastboot folder" of course.
If you're not sure about it pls post a screenshot of your command prompt so i can check it for errors.

You solved my problem for me!! The issue was with TWRP!! Thank you so much for your help!

[Need Fast Help Please!] Softbrick? Wiped everything with TWRP (System,Bin,Data)

Hey guy's only wanted to do a factory reset but I idiot just wiped everything...
So nothing was anymore on it. I downloaded this file:
OTA_M4_UL_K44_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Europe_4.09.401.3-3.10.401
As I have 4.09.401, CID-HTC__102...
So I was very lost and extracted firmware.zip out of it and flashed it over "fastboot oem rebootRUU" - "fastboot flash zip firmware.zip"
It is also now "Relocked" with S-OFF....
I'm stuck, I need my phone the next few days very often...
I dont know what to do anymore if I try to do the same with the OTA zip file it says FAILED (remote: 24 parsing android-info fail)
(When I tried before with TWRP ADB Sideload before I flashed the firmware.zip, it told me "file_getprop failed to stat /system/build.prop"
What can I do now to get my phone working again
Which version of hboot?
Which version of TWRP?
Are you able to connect to your phone via fastboot?
Are you able to connect to your phone via adb (from within TWRP)?

I had a similar issue. Adb only seemed to work on older version of twrp, except in reality, it wasn't working at all. First thing you need to do is get adb working fully to where you can push a Rom to your phone. The problem is likely your Windows drivers and not your phone, so quit trying to flash firmware to fix your phone. For me, I installed a clean copy of Windows xp on an old computer and then set fastboot and Adb up on it. I've also gotten adb and fastboot working using ubuntu live CD. I'll try and find instructions for that method (it's super easy and will run on your CD drive, so you don't need to format hd out install anything).
Once adb works, you can just push any sense6 Rom and then install in twrp and you'll be good to go.
Edit: read posts 17 & 22 here for information on getting ubuntu live CD to work.

You can flash nothing in CM recovery you need a new recovery.
If you're on stock ROM use this method
Download this file HERE.
Extract the the file in your computer and open the cmd in the folder by pressing shift+LMB and write the code:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
important:connect your phone to the computer in fastboot holding the vol+ and connect it.
Now you can press entre you have now CWM recovery .
Boot to recovery and flash CM12 then make a factory reset and boot to system .
If you're using a Lollipop ROM use this method
Just install this app here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/development/app-recoveries-recovery-installer-t3187914
And give root then flash TWRP .
NOW you can install whatever you want:silly:

ok! but i cant understand "open the cmd in the folder by pressing shift+LMB"! i'm sorry. i'm a biginner! this question may seem so simple! but confusing for me
i can start cmd from the "run" in start button of win7. but it says, "fastboot" command seems meaningless!

Edit: if you have problems flashing via fastbooy there's easier method go here

And download the recovery installer on your computer and install CWM on your phone then you can flash CM12

thanks so much. that worked.
after unlocking the bootloader, I used flashtool and flash in fastboot mode, without any error. but when phone rebooted went to cyanogenmod recovery menu! I choose to update via sd! and all thing were going OK. unfortunately, it failed! the error said that "this update is for c2105, c2104, taoshan, but your phone is." It seems it cant recognize my phone is c2105!
why this error ocured, and what should I do!

permission denied error when trying to boot twrp.img

Trying to temp boot the twrp image so i can install it from the .zip on my device but i cant boot into twrp because of this error. twrp is not installed on my phone.
I have tried running the cmd as admin, making sure everything is in place(bootloader is unlocked, zip is in internal storage, properly installed sdk platform tools, enabled usb debugging, i even set my SELinux to permissive.) and i still get this error.
Im running nouget 7.1.2 (sailfish) N2G47E Ill post a scrrenshot here with the error message. ive tried doing this from both a rooted device and unrooted device and both have the same error. ive searched this forum and online everywhere and it seems no one has ever encountered this error. (hope im wrong dont care) I cant even boot the image from the phone (I.E. through flashify or any other app) in order to install the zip because when i try that i get a "no command" error when it tries to boot into recovery to boot the image. not my main worry though.
screenshot will be a reply if Im allowed if not google search "cannot load twrp.img permission denied" its on imgur.

you need to flash the stock boot image first to be able to boot twrp.
you need the boot image patcher also, if you intend to flash twrp in order to sign the twrp boot image.
where does the boot image patcher go? a directory on my phone or my computer in the sdk tools folder?
i put the boot patcher on my devices internal (same location as twrp zip) and still receive the permission denied. i doubt this is because of root. so flashing the stock image is a waste of time.
The boot patcher is flashed from a computer using fastboot.

No I can't do that the whole issue here is I don't have twrp. I can't flash a zip without a custom recovery. I don't have the custom recovery because of this error.
Yes you need to fastboot boot twrp.img then flash twrp and the signer using pc unless I'm missing understanding

Right I understand that. Problem is when I "fastboot boot twrp.img" i get the error message i posted. So I don't have twrp at all because it won't let me fastboot it. The problem is that I can't fastboot twrp.img without getting the permission denied error in my cmd prompt
Are you the admin on the PC?, And are fastboot adb drivers installed for all users?

Yes I am. And I also elavated the cmd prompt to admin as well. I've tried both as admin and not as admin
You don't need to patch boot if you're on the June firmware. That was only with May's firmware.
