Help about unlock bootloader and install oficial ROM

Please, I need some basic help:
I have a HTC One V, he's unlocked bootloader and root.
I unlocked my bootloader using a tutorial that is here Forum HTC One S. Same method.
Now I want to install ROM an official from another country (I want a European ROM).
I need to lock the bootloader again?
Can I install this ROM for HTC Sync?
Could anyone help me with this question? Thank you for your attention.
(Please do not move the question for another forum, because no one in another forum, and devices V and S are nearly equal.)

for official ROMs you need an RUU. whether or not a One S RUU will run on a One V device is unknown..
RUU's can be found in development section

But, and the question about bootloader:
I need lock bootloader again, or not?
HTC Sync install RUU, with bootloader unlock ?

yeah. i have done it like that.. you should be fine..
but if your flashing One S stuff on a One V there is no guarantee it will work
you take the risk flashing files meant for a different phone.

I downloaded the RUU original HTC One V.
I will install using the HTC Sync then, since i do not need S-ON again.

I think your supposed to install RUU's through fastboot

Can we start an initiative to root the S3 HTC One S

Hi... more and more of us are getting the S3 version of the One S yet no root is available.
May I request for an initiative to root this version of the One S? Perhaps we can discuss here what is required to root it, for example a copy of the boot.img or something... and how the people who created the root for the S4 One S can help in the S3 too?

I second this motion.

find out how to dump the boot.img from your current build, compare it to that of an s4 version (rooted of course) and see how you get on.
it could be something simple, however you will need the right tools to view the boot.img file.
maybe a linux / ubuntu user can join forces with you
theres no point waiting for someone else to do it, if everyone had that attitude it will never get done

I can do it... can someone just tell me how.. and also... dump me a boot.img... as mine is.. well.. gone, as i was one of those early test pigs that tried a s4 recovery and realized it failed.

I have an S3 with me now, Can you tell me how to dump boot.img from my phone?:fingers-crossed:

C:\RootTools>adb push busybox /data/local/busybox
failed to copy 'busybox' to '/data/local/busybox': Permission denied
if adb push is worked, we would have rooted the phone already.

I already dumped it from an S-off device.

A little upside on the S3 version is it will probably have some cross compatibility with Sensation (XE) that uses the same chip. That may boost efforts for developing custom ROMs for it. E.g. CM team posted a screenshot of Android 4.1 running on a Sensation already.

Do you know how change S-ON to S-OFF? And change the CID
I tried to change the CID by updating the file /dev/block/mmcblk0p4, apparently it works with S4 but I think with S-OFF not S-ON.

So now i can easily root my One S C2? to unlock the bootloader I just follow the steps in the sticky thread ''Root, unlock, instal recovery...'?
And last question, can I unroot my phone and lock the bootloader and so get the warrenty back?

Yes, to unlock it you can follow the sticky. To root you go to the modaco.com forum and follow the steps there (thread is something like 'testing: superboot ...') You can Togo
Relock the bootloader but you can't get warranty back because it says 'relocked' instead of 'locked' in the bootloader

My target:
Be able to upgrade my softweare to Adnroid 4 using the automatic update feature built on the phone.
The problem:
My phone is rooted, and after downloading the update for my phone (using the official feature), it's beeing blocked after reseting. According to some messages I've found, this happens because my phone is rooted.
Questions:
Do I have to unroot the phone in order to be able to use the update manager?
Is there another way or suggestion to get my target?
Before writing this email I did google for the answer with no success. The problem is there are lots of concepts and words and I get lost, could you please be clear explaining the ideas? This message would be a good help for users like me in the future.
I will apreciate any kind of help

in order to get official update you have to be 100% stock and yes also unrooted
another way is to S-OFF your device with revolutionary.io (i assume your hboot version is 1.1x depending of your android version)
then install the 3.32fw,install 3.33fw and then the rom you want

it means as the phone came from the manufacturer, so no rooting, no addition software installed or removed. It is quite risky going back to S-On and installing a stock rom. I would not suggest it unless you are planning on returning your phone for a repair...
the key thing is to unroot your phone, most superuser applications have this option in. Also you can delete the superuser.apk from /system/app

[Q] Updating HTC one X at&t factory unlocked

Hello everyone,
I am posting my query for the first time in this forum so kindly bear with me if i ask anything too silly.
I purchased htc one x at&t 16gb model from Amazon in USA and now i am using it in India. Amazon said that the model was factory unlocked.
When i check for updates here in india it shows no msg and sometimes shows service unavailable. I want to update my fone to jelly bean so kindly guide me as to how this can be done? Also if i flash some custom rom.....is it harmful? i mean does it have any risk....if not please guide me as to which one would be suitable and how can i flash it...
I would highly appreciate if someone can help me out with this.....thank you....

You won't be able to receive official updates as far as I know.. To get jelly beam on your phone you would have to unlock the boot loader and root your device to install a custom ROM

I have heard that HTC provides the RUU on their website too......i chkd the website but didnt find any......but if i get official RUU from HTC website in future than will it be possible to update my HOX via the executable file through PC & HTC sync manager??
I have seen a OTA update link on android police which claims its the official JB update.......is it the official update or a custom rom??

If it is official then why htc doesnt post RUU on their website?? from where did you get this file??

the official files are from htc hosted by htc and they were on the website atleast the .exe files were which are ruu and the .zip files are ota.

[Q] HTC One Mini Bootloader unlock and Root help 4.3

Hey there,
i was wondering if there was anyone who could help me with unlocking the bootloader and rooting my HTC One mini running android 4.3 and HTC Sense 5.5. Its an unlocked model from the UK. Im kind of new to this and was very confused and so am hoping someone here could give me or link me to a tutorial to do these things. If there is a similar post then i apologise for making another one.

Unlock your bootloader at htcdev.com. Then flash the twrp 2.6 and install the root if you want. You get a option to. Then if you want to s-off use the revone method or the rumrunner. I prefer the revone.

Hello there, Thanks for they reply! How do I flash twrp 2.6 and how do I install the root? I think I have seen tutorials for s-off so i'll be ok with that.

After you unlock bootloader, you can just google or search on the fourums on how to install twrp using cmd if you have windows.
