Lost root after rebooting from Clockworkmod - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

on my phone I lost root permissions after I rebooted from clockworkmod. while trying to reboot clockworkmod said from rebooting stock recovery may be installed and root permissions may be lost. I disagreed to both. Rom manager still says I have clockworkmod installed. How do I get root back? Can I just CF auto root again?

If it is not installed and you got an unlocked
Bootloader then flash cwm in fastboot mode and flash the supersu zip in your recovery

[Q] trying to root need help!!!

Hey guys. Im trying to root this thing and i have followed these steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046439 and I used odin to flash the VRALEC Bootchain and then the TWRP recovery. odin said everything went fine. now when I try to boot into recovery it goes to the generic recovery mode. its not the TWRP recovery. from here i cannot flash the SUPERSU + unlocked bootloader. everytime i try i get a signature verification failure. can i try to flash TWRP or CWM? will it mess anything up since ive already flashed TWRP once? What should I do? Thank you
If u r rooted I suggest downloading GooManager from the play store. Open the app click the menu button and choose install openrecoveryscript. This Will install TWRP automatically. After that choose reboot recovery in GooManager. Remember you must be rooted and GooManager must have root.

Also if you aren't on VRBMF1 just go to the stickies and grab the flashable zip.

Sadly I am on VRBMF1 I've really only flashed the VRALEC Bootchain so i dont think I am rooted yet. I think flashing the SUPERSU is what actually roots. I just checked with a root checker ap and I'm not rooted yet.

Okay so the weirdest thing. After I flashed CWM over TWRP I booted into recovery and TWRP started. I flashed the SUPERSU but it didn't ask me to disable recovery flash. Everything seems to be running alright. I have root access now but will not disabling recovery flash turn out to bite me when I try to flash a rom?
What is recovery flash? Is that a CWM thing? If you are using TWRP then TWRP doesn't have that option. You will be fine. Also can u hit the "thanks" button so I know I helped you

[Q]Any way to resolve an unrooted tablet with a corrupted stock ROM?

I had rooted and installed CM 10.2 to my tablet about two weeks ago. It was working fairly well but I decided I wanted to go back to my stock ROM. When I flashed the stock ROM the tablet caught in a boot loop after resetting, never getting past the Samsung screen. I can get into the stock recovery mode, but I have lost my root access. According to recovery mode the /efs has been corrupted. I cannot get into download mode, so Odin and Kies are of no use right now.
I can flash from my external sd card, but being a stock ROM without root it will not load accept anything that is not digitally signed. I've not been able to find a digitally signed ROM or recovery mode that would help, I even tried getting the ROM from Kies but to no avail. I can get command line access through my PC, but without root there is not much I can do with this.
So now I'm stuck with the worst of both worlds, a corrupted stock ROM with no root access.
Any ideas on how to resolve this?
If stuck in bootloop, have you tried factory reset in recovery?

Unfortunately seems my backups ups were lost in the corruption. I know I made one, but unable to find it now. Also don't see an option for restoring the EFS folder in the stock recovery mode.

No, and I'm not really sure how that works. But how can I get it to the the tablet without download mode?
I'm fairly certain I bricked it, but I'm just taking the off chance someone knows a way to pull a rabbit out of the hat on this.

It just goes straight into recovery mode, no matter what I do. Never goes into or gives me the option to go into download mode.
I can get into adb and flash things that way, but if what I'm trying to flash isn't digitally signed it won't flash it because I lost root.

I think i have a answer, since youre stuck in recovery and it does register in adb right? download the toolkit here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341488
follow all instructions in the command prompt, choose your model and version of last installed software, if not listed choose 4.1.2
then choose option 3 to install a recovery image, i will reflash my device and make a recovery zip for you to flash in twrp and that should fix it or so i think.
Wait- why can't you get into Download Mode? (You've tried holding down "Power" and "Volume Down", I'm assuming?) Plus, you've mentioned "signed images"- which model do you have? (neither the N8000 nor N8013 require signed images, as they're factory unlocked).

Just so you know Volume Down is the one closest to the power button!!! and if you can get into download mode you could also flash a recovery from there and then install a rom.

I'm not sure exactly. Since something went wrong when I flashed my ROM I also lost my backup of the original Samsung ROM that came with the tablet. Not sure if that's a related problem or not. Due to not having a backup I downloaded a stock ROM from SamMobile and flashed that one. That's when I lost my ability to get into download mode and the CWM I was using.
It is a N8013. There is one wire leading from the battery labeled N8000, which caused some confusion to me, but it is a WiFi tablet, not 3G, and all other documentation says it's a N8013. Maybe Samsung uses similar internal parts.

[Q] HTC one SV k2cl stuck on boot loop Please Help

I rooted on HTC ONE SV
Moonshine s-off

Boost mobile
everything was fine till i installed a apk to control system settings then it went into boot loop
i've "adb flashed boot.img from a boost rom and sideloaded it threw CMWrecovery.
It's been flashing system for an hour and a half.
is there a boot, recovery and rom that will fix this problem, even if its stock.
all keep seeing is the recovery and boot.img
i want to put everything back the way it was stock or not
WHAT SHOULD I DID I'M AT A LOSS !!!
Please Help, Thanks in advance
@angelus9151
You can't flash a boot.img via sideload and you can't flash a boot.img via adb. Has to be with fastboot.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Your boot.img is most likely fine, you just need to restore your system partition. Did you make a backup of your device using your custom recovery? If so, then you need to restore using that backup. Otherwise, I can provide a link to either my TWRP backup (not CWM compatible), an RUU, or my deodexed Rom. Your choice. First, if you already have a backup made up, then apply it. Otherwise, let me know.

I had TWRP on before CWM but even when i would load that it would still bootloop thats why i used CWM. Just one question if i want to root it again without a system control app this time will i be able to use this exe file to restore it if it happens again. it took me a year before i tried it because the first time there was no roms and i bootlooped that HTC one SV and had to fork over $300.00 bucks for a new one but i figured that i would root it because of busybox.

Its an ruu, an ruu is about as legit as you are going to get when it comes to restoring your phone. So yes, it will work . If your phone bootlooped when you flashed twrp in the past then my guess is that you either used the wrong fastboot commands and wrote it to another partition by accident, or you used a TWRP that was not presumably built for your phone and thus used another TWRP designed for another device.

If you are about to do something to your phone, make sure you know exactly what you are doing, why you are doing it, how it works, why it works, should I make a mistake what are my escape routes, and if all else fails - plan B. If none of these are set to mind then I recommend you do absolutely nothing to your phone until you actually understand its method.

How to update when you have CWM istalled?

I have unlocked the bootloader on my MT7-L09 and the phone is rooted. I recently downgraded the firmware to C00B137SP03 using the method of placing the update.app in the dload folder on the SD card. Ever since then I cannot get any other update to install using this method as once the phone reboots it goes straight to CWM. I have tried using various *.img files but they simply give ‘error 7’ messages. The phone at the moment tells me it has a new version available which is C00B145, but again I cannot install it as it simply reboots to CWM recovery.
Any ideas please?

SuperSU Update causing Samsung s6 to constantly boot into TWRP

I was prompted for an update to SuperSU, I selected the TWRP option and my phone rebooted, did the update and then rebooted into TWRP. I attempted to reboot the phone numerous times with it only going into TWRP?
Using Stock Samsung ROM with root. Hoping this is fixable without a factory reset as I only rooted last night and stupidly hadn't made a backup due to lack of time.
Best regards
Why did you choose TWRP method? That's really meant for S-ON phones like old HTC's.
