Well Ive been trying to root my galaxy 10.1 and no matter what method I try, I load odin and try to install cwm it always fails. I have all the latest drivers. But my model number is differetn from every rooting guide I can find.......I have the 10.1 running 4.1.2 and model # sch-i925. Anyone know of a method to root this model or know why odin keeps failing on me?
I think the Problem is with CWM. The device is very, very new and because it has LTE the Hardware will definitely be different from other modells. I think I've read the device number somehow in the context with TWRP. You might want to check the TWRP Thread if TWRP is compatible.
If you just want root, Try the framaroot app. Worked on my n8020 lte

Actually the Framaroot did work to give me root, but it acts strangely. It doesnt stick when I reboot and have to re-run the framaroot almost everytime I reboot, but at least I get some root access, to over-clocking apps and titanium back-up and a also my sdcard speed reader apps, but like I said, it doesnt stick and for a temp solution it works. Hoping someone is working on a perm root method for the sch-i925 witha working recovery, thats where Im really stuck now since no one has developed a working recovery for the sch-i925, tried all sorts of the cwm updates and also tried twrp. No recovery method will give me an option to install zip files from sdcard. I also cant load the new radio and/or flash any new splash screens. So any devs out there that want to work on this, Id gladly donate heftily to get some dev support for this new model.
Root
I tried Framaroot on my galaxy note 10.1 4.12 with MK1 build
i told it to install superSU when done
i clicked on sam got error of try another exploit error 9
i clicked on Frodo got error of same
i clicked on Aragom and it took a while and then came back like it worked
i clicked on superSU and got an error of There is no SU Binar installed, and SupierSU canot install it this is a problem
and if i try to unroot using the same method it gives me the same errors but it will not remove SuperSU
Any ideas???
Is anyone working on a root for the sch-i925 anymore? It's a great tablet, but it needs to be rooted. Is there anyone out there?

By now it's too old I guess. I have the same model and have found nothing to root this device.
Samsung Note 10.1 Tablet.
Bump. Recently acquired. will pay for ROOT!!
I was wondering if its possible to install TWRP or another type of customer recovery on the Galaxy s3 verizon that has 4.4 running on it? I've gotten root (towelroot) Ive unlocked the bootloader(Unlocked symbol on boot) But everything i've tried to do to install twrp fails. I've tried odin and the TWRP app. TWRP app just deosnt work and odin says "Fail! (auth)" Is it even possible to install TWRP on the s3 with 4.4?
Thanks in advance.

No, it is not. My friend, you are doing everything in your power to hardbrick your S3. There is only root access via Towelroot which you've accomplished and Safestrap which will only let you use another 4.4.2 VRUDNE1 based rom. I'm surprised you haven't hard bricked it yet upon reboot.
Any info you need is here in our 4.3/4.4.2 OTA guide

/: Actually already hard bricked...like twice! I have my precious unbrick SD card...that was a 6h+ adventure to find something that actually worked. Live and learn right?
Anywho, got safestrap etc...but safestrap doesnt seem to want to work, says it installed, and shows state: Installed, but it wont boot into safestrap recovery! Did something i've done before screw it up?

You did not unlock the bootloader on your device. Can't be done on an S3 running 4.4. That unlock symbol on boot has nothing to do with the bootloader.

Are you using the "Recovery Locked/NE1" version of Safestrap from the link I posted?
I'm sure the bootloader can still be unlocked. I mean it's Android 4.4! We're on 8 right now. I personally believe that because it took so long to unlock it the first time, once that hole was closed the same people did not want to put that much time in again when times have changed so much in 4-5 years.
I wish I just had more experience actually writing code utilizing exploits in a useful manner, instead of being able to put 2 & 2 together for a flowchart.

I have tried to get a custom rom on my Samsung Galaxy S3 Verizon with Android 4.4.2 but failed. The closest I have ever gotten to get a custom rom was by using Safestrap. Link: Safestrap- https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797314

Unfortunately, from my research I have not found any way to unlock the bootloader . However, the closest I have ever gotten to get a custom rom was with Safestrap. Link: Safestrap- https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797314
Hi! I'm new here... Hope I'm in the right place, but I've been having problems with my GS5. I rooted it using towelroot about 3 months ago which was successful, then a Verizon system software update was pushed and installed to my phone, and that somehow installed fine, but now root checker says my phone isn't rooted and towelroot says my phone isn't supported... For months now my phone has been trying to install the 4.4.4 update with no luck, when it reboots and is in the middle of installing with the little android dude with his chest open, it says 'error'. Has there been a fix or way around this? Any way I can completely factory wipe everything?

Verizon may of patched the towelroot exploit with the new update. Have you tried posting this in the VZW S5 forums?
From my CM11 S3
Towel root is dead for firmwares newer than June 2014. You can try chainfire for root. If t he 4.4.4 firmware isn't updating, try flashing with Odin.

Thanks for chiming in but I basically said that already. There's no need to duplicate it. You won't be able to run supersu for root as you can't flash any zip files on a locked bootloader

Thanks for replying but I basically gave OP actual useful answers to his direct question.

Its too bad there is not a way to block any updates.. These companies want to control all we see and do on our devices. I have made the decision to dump my smart phone.I am going to get a flip phone and only use for phone calls.
I recently rooted my Galaxy s4 using towel root I installed all the apps that I needed, I was trying to do something with terminal but non of the commands that I put in go through. Any ideas of what's wrong???

Have you checked if your device is really rooted?
First you need to type:
su (press enter)
then you'll be prompted for root access. If you're not prompted, something went wrong with the root. Use CF-AUTO-ROOT then to root device
So I have a issue I have a Galaxy A8 530 w and it says on my computer that I have successfully rooted my phone using Odin but when I open up SuperSU it says that they cannot find a root I have rooted my phone once and I had to restart it so I did a restart on my Galaxy and nothing happened it actually works just the same as I did when I first bought it so I tried to re-root it and it says as I said not properly installed how do I get rid of the not properly installed part and try it again haven't really been able to find anything that works
