The upcoming Nexus 10 - Asus Transformer TF700

I have been very pleased with Asus products for 10yrs now. Even the Prime with its faults and annoying issues I felt was a nice hardware. The same with the TF700. Fine it has lag and game developers seem to skip making their software compatiable with it. But my device runs great for my needs.
I came across an article that mentions Asus is looking to be the manufacture for the next Nexus 10. What are other TF700 owners thought on this? I'm currently waiting on the next wave of tablets to be announched before getting a new one. Nothing except for the current Sony Xperia tablet or TF701 have my interest. If I find one of these on a price is right for me type of sale, I will snatch it up.

That is an old article and Asus never confirmed they are making it. I'll see it when I believe it. There are just as many rumours saying Samsung will make it which will much more likely.

Ah. It showed up as new in Flipboard for me and it never occurred for me to check the date. Darn, I had gotten excited there.
Thanks for the info.

Is Xoom DOA?

I have a wifi xoom and although it has some great features but the force closes and the non functioning sd card (from the factory) is very annoying. I thought Moto and google would have a fix by now. The force closes make me mad. I have 15 days left to return and will do so if there is not a major update before then. I should have know better than to expect Moto to do anything right.
Here is an quote from an article in the Wall Street Journal about xoom sales.
"Global Equities analyst Trip Chowdry estimates that Motorola Mobility has manufactured between 500,000 and 800,000 Xooms, but has sold only 5 to 15 percent of them.
Best case scenario then, according to Chowdry, is that Motorola has sold 120,000 Xooms; worse case scenario, it’s sold just 25,000. Now, admittedly, that’s a very large range, and one could argue that it makes Chowdry’s estimate largely meaningless. But remember that original forecasts suggested Motorola would sell between 3 and 5 million Xooms this year and earlier this month some analysts were calling for first quarter sales of 300,000.
In other words, even Chowdry’s best case scenario is a worst case scenario. It’s just a bit less ugly."
Personally, I could care less how many have been sold. I love my Xoom and maybe I'm lucky but I haven't faced many of the problems I read about here.
As for SD card support, I'm not bothered by that either. I have no need for a SD card at this time. 32GB is plenty of storage for me.
I'm treating Honeycomb the same way I did with android 1.0. Its basically a new platform and the apps and fixes will come as more tablets hit the market.
I heard all the same jargon in the media after I pre-ordered my G1. Well look at android now.

I feel the same way. No announcement was made as to when an update would come. I'm sure everyone knew the SD slot wasn't functioning way before they purchased the device.

It will be DOA if we keep starting threads like "Is the XOOM DOA" and prospective customers see all these threads in search engines.
Then prospective customers start having unfounded doubts and the XOOM's demise becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy.
First of all, many of us knew that Xoom won't sell that well. This is because it's new, OS is new, hardware is new, everything about it is new and many people don't want to be lab rats. But with Moto rolling out Xoom on other networks in many countries will help sales. And we will have to wait till Thursday for Motorola to announce their earnings and see how many they sold.
Secondly, I understand the frustration of lacking SD support but I personally don't really care since I never really used my microSD on my N900.
And about force closes, like I said everything about Xoom is new and it was first to the punch. Other honeycomb tabs will have everything working, but Xoom was still first and that what counts.
I would never return mine, I would never even sell mine after Xoom2 arrives. Why? Because it is the first and maybe even one of the only "Pure Google Experience" devices that will be available.
Simple answer. No.
Sent from my Xoom the way it should be, rooted and with SD card.
Google needs to release a big Honeycomb update including one that enables the mircoSD card slot, Motorola needs to lower the price and release 16GB models and more manufactures need to release more tablets which will bring in more tablet apps. If you had your Xoom since day one like I have, you will already see the improvement in the selection of tablet apps. I hope that the microSD card slot is fixed soon though. Watching the new tablets come out with working slots is starting to make the Xoom look abandoned.
Despite this, I love my Xoom and it will get better with time. Who else has a working Barometer by the way? lol
i don't care about the sd card function cause i still have 32GB for my media. however, i have a terrible experience with my xoom's web browser ( even i tried another web browser apps like dophin...)Yes, surfing web is the main point for me to buy this tablet. Web browser is FC a lot (besides, it made my xoom rebooted once), stuck at loading pages (i have to go to app manager=> force close web browser..), Flash doesn't work properly. I never had this terrible experience with my android devices before. I understand that Honeycomb is a new OS, and it will be improved over by next updates but how can't google/motorola/ adobe make sure some basic functions work well before selling their products ?
What would have all the customers who went to buy an ipad2 have done when they got to the store and were told they would have to take a number and wait a month or more? BUY A XOOM!!! This was great timing for Moto to deliver the product but kinda sucks for the consumer at first. However, this is not the first time a company has done this. And as someone laready pointed out, if you have had the Xoom from day one you will have already seen the improvement in the app market. Also remember that the honeycomb source has not been released yet. When that happens you will see things explode here on XDA. So if you have filled up your 32g internal storage, and their just are not enough apps for you at this time and so on........return your Xoom and take a number for the ipad! (it has Netflix out of the box). If you are one of those people who just like to complain, well then I got nothing for you. Otherwise be patient and enjoy what you have. Good things WILL come to our Xoom's!!!
For the record: I have NEVER considered an ipad. And I am very happy with my Xoom!
I just don't get these type of posts. So because you hated the xoom or the wsj says it hasn't sold enough everyone else should go and return their xooms. What should I get an I pad 2? What if I want my websites to work with flash? What if I want actual multitasking? So get an I pad 2 that doesn't even have an SD slot forget when it will be activated.
Anyway, I have been happy with the xoom.

i don't want to get a lot of FC on my web browser. this is the only thing i complain.
I want the Xoom to work. I do not own a single Apple product. I am not patient enough to wait months for the Xoom and Honeycomb to work. I want to be able to root and load new themes and Myn's Warm Honeycomb but Google has already said they would not release the sources code anytime soon.
If no one is buying the Xoom, the developers will not develop apps and it may never reach the point where it is a commercial success. I will stick with the Xoom if a significant upgrade comes very soon.
Everywhere I go the xoom seems to be sold out and people are constantly asking for it. It may not have that "Apple" demand but people are interested, I love mine, cant wait for some more apps and updates to come out so it will be a beast!
this post is DOA
This is the beauty of Android, It doesn't matter about the Xoom Google will keep developing 3.0 and onward.
with Apple if interest in a new product dips it dies!
Thats why clean OS's like the xoom will always win the day and thats why extra software just slows down development!
there is more sense in nonsense
remember that!
We do need a way to release frustration and these blogs are it. This is a first honeycomb version, effectively a beta. On the other hand, I feel for Motorola, as when that update comes long, they will have to spend millions double handling the already sold Xoom.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Xoom, and I can see its potential.
I am sure one of the reasons people are not buying Xooms is that thay'd rather wait until it is finished, and some more of bugs are squashed (See googles bug tracket) the SD card is one of the lesser problems.
When that happens we will be riding a steeper adoption curve that will scare apple a little.
I found that every store in the st. Louis area that carries the xoom was sold out so I had to order mine from amazon (not a big fan). So its a bit shocking to hear that sales are bad. Maybe they just didn't make enough. Maybe its been selling fine for motorola and its the market that had unrealistic expectations.
In any case, I think as more manufactures produce more honeycomb tablets the momentum will pick up just like what happened with android phones. The g1 did not exactly fly off the self when it was introduced. Hell I didn't which from blackberry until recently.
Some of this is part of being an early adopter. I mine the ipad2 is simiply a scaled up iphone so no surprise that it works well the os has been out for some time. Honeycomb is a much bigger jump for android and therefore the problems

The crazy amount of FUD surrounding the xoom makes me wonder if there's some propaganda machine in operation.
I don't even think that the problem is the software or bugs. I think the main thing that hurt the Xoom is price. After announcing the price Motorola did not listen to consumers and they stuck with their pricing, which ultimately hurt the success of the xoom. Prime example is the Asus Transformer, they are flying of shelves, not because of the dock as much as the price.

From what I have seen so far ... stores are sold out, dont have accesories, (which means it is obviously selling out) and in best buy the tablets are with the computers (not with the tablets!), how are people/consumers supposed to know about it and that it is a tablet that is better than the pad when there is a big ipad2 display while the xoom is over by all the laptops and when you ask for it they take you to the zune stuff?
Oh well, and from what i have seen lately, displays are popping up, I have seen more commercials on tv, and now I hope store start stocking it to show it off.. that is the only way to sell it. I think the xoom will do just fine and as it was mentioned earlier in this thread, xoom will not die because android will not die, just wait and see
XOOM FTW!

Responce from Viewsonic on GB and HC

Hey All Check this out..
This is what i asked Viewsonic on Facebook.
Hello,
can you please let us know when we will start to see the release of Gingerbread 2.3 more stable version with the correct nvidia drivers. Nvidia is willing to work with viewsonic to get a stable and decent working rom for the gtablet. I know this seems odd but there has been about 4 tablets released after viewsonic gtablet that are currently runing Android honeycomb 3.0 and the Gtab is still running froyo 2.2. It is time for a upgrade guys. Please.
Also can you please release the source code for 1.2 to the devs this way we can get better roms built in the 1.2 boot-loader.
This is the answer that i got back.
1. When will we start to see the release of Gingerbread 2.3 more stable version with the correct nvidia drivers?
Answer: The gTablet is based upon nVidia's Harmony platform. Unfortunately, nVidia has chosen not to provide driver support on Harmony for either Gingerbread or Honeycomb.
2. Approximate release date of the source code for 1.2 to the devs this way we can get better roms built in the 1.2 boot-loader.
Answer: A release date is not yet scheduled.
This is what i replied back to them.
Hello
Thanks you for you response. There are a couple things.. Nvidia is not dropping support as per this Link and Nvidia directly. Please see this link. http://briefmobile.c...ms-drop-support
This is up to Viewsonic to push google to support Gingerbread and Honeycomb. Nvidia is willing to provide any kind of support for their recent and their upcoming products.
Also we are all patiently waiting for the release of a stable version of gingerbread. I know that google is holding off on releasing honeycomb but they are not holding off on gingerbread. It has been out and available to all. I would like to know from you as to an approx date as to when we will see this.
thanks

I'm going today to get a Xoom or Iconia A500 which unless they're the best thing ever, will be returned in the next 45 days for an Asus Transformer. Viewsonic's tablet is fine for browsing and reading docs/ebooks, but I find their lack of wanting to take excellent hardware and make it even better with excellent software disturbing.

To bad we cant get Nvidia to work with our devs. They are obviously more productive then Viewsonics.
US Merchants is (and always has) been the support mechanism for G-Tablet.
Apparently, Viewsonic has just thrown us to the wolves by passing the buck on that.

I'm pretty sure he's confusing the A500 with the W500. The W500, as a Windows tablet, has a dock. The A500 doesn't have the latch slots on the bottom like the Transformer and W500 (which has two holes, one on either side of the docking port, like the slots on the Transformer). There's no way for the A500 to stay secure in a keyboard dock.

I can't stand this mentallity of I'm not hurting anyone, it's a big corporation.

At some point I'll get something like the specs on the Transformer, but I can wait.

I actually agree with this statement. The rest of us have to pay a higher price for everything because there are always people wanting to take advantage of the system. A long time ago when I worked as an LEO, one night I forgot I had a mic attached to my uniform and made a politically incorrect statement. I had just arrested an illegal immigrant for DUI. While I was checking his vehicle for towing, I said to the tow truck guy "it's people like this guy that's making the rest of us pay more for our insurance." Well, that comment came back and bit me in the ass later.
I still stand by that comment, and I don't care how politically incorrect it was. People who use loopholes in the system make the rest of us pay a higher price for everything. Retail store theft each year cost us consumers hundreds of millions of dollars. And people who buy something to just try it out and then return it in a couple of months cause us all to pay a higher price for the said product. They also cause those who genuinely did not intend to use it for free but for one reason or other had to return the product can't return it for full refund.
I love my current profession a lot more. I don't have to be politically correct all the time like before. If I see someone taking advantage of the system at the cost of the rest of us paying for it, I say it.
Anyway, back to the subject. The gtab works wonderfully for my purposes. I currently use froyo, and I can't imagine myself moving on to ginger anytime soon. I like stability and speed a lot more than the latest and greatest.
That said, VS really is alienating us by being so resistant to supporting their own product. Until they get better with their support, I will not buy another VS product.
Gtablet could be good/Viewsonic Bad.......
Tried the a500, bad quality on the hardware so returned (qc dep failed on my unit, screen not seated correctly. Viewsonic had a hit, but have really dropped the ball on follow thru! Locking the bootloader was a strong message of intent. Here comes the heresy, bought a win7 tablet (CTL PC2go). As android will not yet do what I wanted a tablet for (everything from surfing to running programs storing transfering files, remote admin, watching netflix on the go, excel word powerpoint, corporate grade security). The build is excellent hardware quality wise, good horesepower for the buck too. Viewsonic goes in my never again bin (some companies have lost thousands of my dollars by getting into this bin). I am old school(cause I am older), every dollar I spend is an economic vote, and viewsonic is going to learn one day, gain a customer, treat them right, and you will soar as they sell your product for you, and buy from you again and again. Disregard a good customer, and they will tell twice as many to avoid you! Nice gadget, but without support that is all it will ever be!

Should I buy the Xoom?

I'm considering to buy a Motorola Xoom (which is quite expensive here in Brazil) and would like to know the opinion of you guys who already own one.
Is it ready for prime time? Should I wait for other tablets? What are the cons of the Xoom?
I read that the SD card slot is not working. Why release a product that doesn't work out of the box?
I own a Motorola Milestone and I'm a little disappointed with it (took Motorola lots of time to release Froyo for it and it is far slower than before). I had to install another rom to get it to work properly (not perfect, but better than the original). That is why I'm a little afraid from buying from them again.
Any opinion/suggestion/advice would be helpful
the xoom is guarnteed to get the updates faster....the closest thing to a nexus tablet. It got updates the day it came out. The Samsung tab 10.1 is also good
It depends on how bad you need one. Overall it's a good product. Even with 3.1 it's still pretty buggy and updates aren't coming as fast as I'd like. If you can wait, they'll just get cheaper and more reliable.

What kinds of bugs there are? And what about the SD slot, is it working?
It is by far the best tablet out there. You should buy one, I have one and love it!
It really depends on you as a person. I love my xoom. But if you want something that isn't going to require a bit of work on your part, I doubt you should get an android tablet. Honeycomb is still new and really is an acquired feel. It's most certainly not for the average user. But out of all the honeycomb tablets the xoom will get more support as it's the first released. Samsung has little to no support for anything (look how long it took them to update an official 2.2 update for galaxy s phones. And the transform). Asus transformer is said to be a little unresponsive, not to mention hard to get. Acer iconia is said to be HEAVY. Xoom screen is a little washed out. Research and pick your poison.

One of the things I get worried about are the updates, since it took Motorola a long time to release 2.2 to Milestone too. They only seem to care about the US market, because the Droid received the update long before and it is almost the same phone.
But it was said during this year's Google I/O that they will be working with some brands (including Motorola) to release updates quickly for many months after the launch of the products.
And what about the SD card slot? Is it working?
this is the flagship honeycomb so this will get the update assuming Google comes up with one.
re SD card, there is already a workaround. just requires a bit of tinkering on your part.
I love my xoom.

Either the Xoom or Tab 10.1. The xoom gets updates faster, the tab is lighter/thinner.

Motorola and Google's fault. Acer iconia, Samsung Galaxy Tab, and Asus Transformer have working slots out the box (because they made their own drivers for it). Motorola/Google didn't make the SD slot drivers for the xoom yet.

Is it just me or anyone starts to feel awkward about TF700 too?

Hello all,
I don't know why but, recently all I have read from this forum is "how bad Infinity TF700 is" or "how he/she decided to switch Samsung/Ipad etc. over Infinity". I don't know, it just makes me feel more and more paranoid about my tablet.
I know this sounds quite naive, but is there anyone who feels the same way?
You're not alone. I'm very dissappointed with the quality and performance that 600 dollars got me. Not to mention the poor quality of dock (pivot so stiff it would've broken my screen and partially attached SD card cable) that cost me another 116 bucks. Hopefully they're taking their time releasing Jelly Bean update so that things get fixed correctly and not do a half-a$$ed job

If you have a working unit, and whatever you do is covered and you are happy with it, I think you shouldn't be concerned about.
It's just simply no device is perfect and that's always the case with technology. So we all have to compromise something and sometimes the compromise is not noticeable as you may not even use those functions.
Infinity has gorgeous screen, attachable keyboard, and ASUS's reputation of quick software update. Though I myself left Infinity (at least for now), there are still people like me coming back to this forum as we still liked infinity in many aspect and hoping the issues we faced get fixed (presumably by software).
Personally, jumping from iPad 2 and Galaxy Tablet 10.1 4G, I noticed gorgeous screen of infinity quickly. Then some application launching much faster than my old Galaxy Tablet. But battery life, frequent ANR, much slower browser load time (this was actually fixed most part after applying d's tweaking tip), and unexpected crashes.
But to be honest, if I didn't use my primarily Flash sites, if I didn't need full day battery (without keyboard), I probably wouldn't even noticed any issue of infinity.
I currently have Galaxy Note 10.1. Is it perfect? No. Everything but FHD I say yes. But FHD is such a huge component because I read many ebooks with detailed pictures... So I am still torn.
Again, nothing is perfect. You just need to put a priority of what's important to you. With future updates, Infinity will get better not worse, so that's promising. But I wouldn't count on saying, with JB update everything will be perfect.
I personally love mine, and would recommend it to others. Not to suggest that there are no issues, but I'd be willing to bet that the silent majority of people are just getting along and enjoying their device and not posting here.

I've been enjoying my TF700 Infinity more and more as I've seen the performance improve with the Zeus custom rom, so I don't let the complaints get me down. Many people are just wondering what is normal for the device, and some are just looking for assistance. I think it's to be expected with a new device, especially one so complex. The same thing happened with the Nexus 7 forum...for the first month or so, all you would read would be the most pitiful complaints, people on their 7th Nexus 7, light bleed, lifting screens and dead pixels, slow development, and then, all of a sudden, the Nexus 7 is everyone's darling.
If you love your Infinity, enjoy it. You're an early adopter, so there are always risks with something new that pushes bounderies.
Personally I love my TF700. Use it all the time. Love the battery life with the dock (practically always together). I am just waiting for some custom ROMs, or preferably a dualboot for Linux/Android.
Maybe i'm not a stickler when it comes to the "defects", but I am satisfied that the tablet works, has an amazing screen, gives me amazing battery life, has a true keyboard dock (not BT), and a USB port, among other things. I look at the positive things, and since none of the "defects" really take away from the performance, I don't have much to complain about. (on top of that, I haven't even installed Zeus v4, still stock, and I hear that will make a world of a difference.)

All of us on here just love torturing ourselves with Ooooo my battery only lasted 7.34 hours or I dang I noticed my tab weighs a few micro kilograms more than my last one...
I know if I keep scoping mine I'll find something...only then will I be mad but happy I noticed something
is this the first time you ever read a forum? look at any forum - literally any forum about any application/device in existence... there's always someone complaining about something.
your shiny new touch device gets fingerprints on the screen when you touch it with dirty hands? the speakers sound crappy when you try to play music at absurdly high volumes? you opened 10 games and the device feels slow? people can actually beat you in a game? the meat you bought 2 months ago is rotten? the device you damaged yourself is not replaced for free?
it's always the same vocal minority that HAS to complain about something, no matter how unimportant or stupid it is.

I personally love mine, and would recommend it to others. Not to suggest that there are no issues, but I'd be willing to bet that the silent majority of people are just getting along and enjoying their device and not posting here.

Same here, mine is great. I have none of the issues that users complain about frequently. Only thing is that yes, it does tend to lag, but then again, it is the most powerful tegra 3 so its just a software issue i'm sure asus will fix
I feel awkward about ASUS, they are behaving very slow with the Infinity.
Back when the Transformer Prime was their most current Android tablet we saw biweekly almost weekly firmware updates for the tablet.
It gave us Prime owners the sense that ASUS was actively working to make sure it's customers were getting the best experience.
I've had my Infinity tablet for over a month now since I did the Best Buy exchange, and I haven't seen a single firmware OTA from ASUS.
There's ICS features that the Transformer Prime received in updates that are lacking in the Transformer Pad Infinity.
ASUS spread themselves too thin with the Prime, TF300, Nexus 7, and TF700. They've completely neglected their premium Android tablet products.
We saw the same crap on the Prime forums as well. Funny thing is, I have 2 Primes and 2 Infinity tabs and both work just fine.

is this the first time you ever read a forum? look at any forum - literally any forum about any application/device in existence... there's always someone complaining about something.
your shiny new touch device gets fingerprints on the screen when you touch it with dirty hands? the speakers sound crappy when you try to play music at absurdly high volumes? you opened 10 games and the device feels slow? people can actually beat you in a game? the meat you bought 2 months ago is rotten? the device you damaged yourself is not replaced for free?
it's always the same vocal minority that HAS to complain about something, no matter how unimportant or stupid it is.

You sure the lack of updates doesn't mean that something big, like JB, is coming soon? I'm pretty sure that ASUS would not waste the time and money implementing features on the TF700's ICS if JB were already near completion.
Also, for the prime, the updates mainly served to fix issues, which we don't have on the infinity.
I feel you, I went through the same thing with the prime. I agree the Infinity is not perfect but for me I have a functional one that runs quite well. Don't kid yourself if you think the iPad and the Note don't have issues. Good luck with your decision.

Aww...I don't think anyone is mad...
Grain of salt.
Had a thot tho.
I wonder if the TF700T was implemented early to rush the market and beat Samsung and Acer with their new tabs?
Especially the A700 which I don't believe weathered it's hardware bugs too well.
I have a feeling the Infinity was built for Android 4.1...yet does fine with ICS.

Lets be real..lol Infinity has or has had most of same software issues as prime had. Games crashing. Tons of threads here on it. Browser issues. Poor I/O performance. Primes updates were released to add new features and address those things. Infinity pad also had update to address a major issue. Which is I/O performance. It did show a minor to decent improvement but wasn't solved. So its not all peaches n cream over here in Infinity forum either.
BUT
like you said, Asus not likely wasting anymore time on ICS. If jb is that close, no need to waste resources on ICS. So lets all hope it brings the true stability Infinity pad and Prime deserves. Along with new features and any further improvements that can be made, software wise, to better I/O performance. Also get the gaming rigght. No reason my nexus 7 can play any game flawlessly without crashing and the infinity pad and prime can't. I don't need to have any mods or limiting processes or custom roms for my N7 high performance and stability. I have a feeling the real power and performance will be seen on Prime and Infinity pad once JB is released.
Plus I also believe more people who have good working infinity pads should post/male threads and let people know. New people coming Imto forum get scaredoff from so many complaint threads. We know alot of infinity owners have issues. BUT the flipsode is that ALOT have great working units also. There needs to Be a balance being represented. People do have valid complaints but people also have genuine praises for this device also.

One of the best things the mods on the Prime forum did was to make a dedicated complaints thread. Basically, if you wanted to ***** about your Prime, get it off your chest in that thread otherwise your thread is closed. I think this forum would really benefit from that because this continual posting of negative threads is getting really BORING for people like me who are happy with their Infinitys. Sure, people have a right to complain but why not dump it all in one thread??

The main problems with the prime were wifi and gps issues. Most of the updates were toward those two things, and not toward the other issues you mentioned.
I disagree about your other point, that people should let others know. I believe that people should stop making threads that bash and keep to the threads that already exist. It doesn't do good to look like a marketing shill, either for or against the tablet, no matter the truth of anyone's statements.
Most of the "infinity sucks" posts are from the SAME PEOPLE. Most of these detractors claim to have already sold/returned their Infinity's yet come here over and over again just to troll.
I admit the Infinity has a lot of issues and it is disappointing to me that it has more issues than the TF300 I sold but I will be patient and see if Asus fixes things. I have had enough experience with Asus products to know they are one of the better companies out there when it comes to dealing with issues.

With TFI getting dead last attention from ASUS as of late, they better be optimizing

they better be optimizing the hell out of Jelly Bean in prep for a massive promotion of the TFI's Android 4.1 rollout.
I personally feel ASUS have neglected the Infinity tablet worse than they did when their Transformer Prime was their most newest Transformer.
I've not seen a single update notification from them since I got this tablet on July 30th, and it's now September 8.
Do they still have that facebook page they use to respond to?
There hasn't been any new news from Googling the Transformer Infinity (besides it's launches in Europe and Australia) since it's reviews and launch reports that were made in June and July.
I know Google intentions were to boast it's Nexus 7 tablet, but wouldn't it made since to keep your more premium tablet running your software on the same level of promotion?
Key: TFI = Transformer Infinity
Havent even seen Gary Keys set foot in this forum even to say hi. Prime is discontinued Gary move on to the Infinity forum and save the tablet by giving insights to what is up. The infinity still has bugs that needs terminating and this is suppose to be the high end of transformers. Its suppose to get some high end service... Right? Hehehe..

Why would you expect ASUS, a greedy megacorporation, to set foot in some obscure forum on the corner of the internet?
They got your money and that's all they need.

Gary Key was trying to cover and hide the issues with the Prime and save Asus's reputation. He is in marketing, not engineering. That was all a big joke. The Infinity doesn't have near the issues the Prime had so Gary wont come over here unless the media starts reporting negatively on the Infinity. I will still never forget Gary Key saying in that interview that the Serial Number Unknown issues were fixed server side when there were dozens of people on these forums who still had the problem and the only fix was to send in your tablet and get a replacement. He flat out lied and I'm glad he isn't around.
Wtf Asus...Samsung Note 10.1 Was just released, not even available here in Canada yet but there is already a JB leak:

We technically have a "leak" too with the guy who got the OTA in that other thread.

why do people make these threads? If you are not happy with the device, exchange it for something else. Why keep buying from a company, whos reputation you don't like? They didnt force us to buy their products. Yes, there are bugs. Give them time to fix everything. They issue a fix today, and then new bugs show up tomorrow, do you expect them to release another update the next day? I'm sure people are hard at work trying to rectify all of the issues. And yes, they still have the FB page, and announced on there several times that JB would be coming this month. People just need to have patience. Every time some type of update gets announced, people start making threads asking when will we get them. technology is not something that can be created in a matter of minutes.
My Infinity is not perfect. But i can be patient and have confidence that Asus will fix the issues. Why wouldnt they? How can they just leave us with messed up devices, and then come out with new products? Who will buy them, given they got over us on the first time? Contact ASUS and voice your complaints. It really doesnt help posting them here.

Why do we keep posting in these threads
We're all gonna be pissed when Toshiba, Slamsung, IBM, etc. finally kick in with entries into HD Android tabs.
I know I'll probably fall for the next best thing...just like everybody else.
