You can try but I couldn't get them to work although I didn't look into it that much, you'll have to decompile some of them as the smali code inside seems to expect a different DPI to what we have so you may need to alter the res folders. As far as libs I have never seen any documentation so you'll have to guess. Also note AOlink is the miracast software. AFAIK the TF700 doesn't support it hardware wise but good luck
I have not been able to get browser or email working. Task Manager and Supernote show up in system/app but does not show in the launcher or in setttings, how can I fix this. Also where is the location of the defualt contacts app in android? So far I have gotten calculator, calendar, my dictionary, photo story, weather, tasks, clock, and gallery to install.

Have you decompiled them and looked in the android.manifest.XML file? You can't just stick APKs in system/app and expect them to work. They will be reliant on framework files your ROM doesn't have. You'll have to use apktool to decompile them first and then try to make them compatible with your framework as well as signing them. Look up and do lots of reading about apktool

Does anyone have or know where to get a set of the above for Cupcake that will actually install and run on the Hero?
I found a 1.1 Calendar.apk that will install as long as HTC's abomination is installed along side it, but they fight with each other for control of the calendar. And I haven't been able to find *any* CalendarProvider apk's that will install.
HTC's calendar app is a look-and-feel disaster, the stock application is much better.
Thanks.

I have. That's where I got the 1.1 apk that sort of works.
I'm perfectly willing to take apart some ROM image if I need to, it's not like that's hard.
Goal: Change the color of "my calendar" from pink to Blue.
I've tried putting an android stock Calendar.apk and deleted the others, but I couldn't get it to work. Is there another way to do this?
Thanks

Is there another Calendar APK that will change this? Or can I somehow remove the Pink color in the file-system? or remove the "my calendar" all-together, and keep the google one?
Just want to change the pink!

Have you looked at your google calender settings online... I am sure you can edit your colors there.

Change Calendar to new APK
I tried to change this myself, finally gave up, however I did find a good calendar app that I really like in it's place Gemini, very nice indeed.
What agenda widget are you using there, OP? And what widget theme if one of the popular agenda widgets?
I would really like a calanxder icon/widget with the actual date... tcalander doesn't update daily.... id almost settle for a no date calander short cut icon....ideas thanks

Unfortunately it seems the "My Calendar" is part of the Samsung calendar app that can't be removed. The best you can do is hide it, but any events you create will still be assigned to the pink My Calendar by default. So whenever you create an event, you have to choose the calendar you want.
The obvious workaround would be to replace the TouchWiz calendar with the stock Android calendar, but I just tried that a little while ago and it didn't work. There may be a way to get it working in the future. Until then I'm just ignoring the My Calendar thing.
I was able to replace the TouchWiz calendar with the normal Android calendar roughly according to the directions in this thread: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=735035
(Sorry for the crappy link, but I can't do proper links yet.)
I've edited mcb00f's directions slightly and repeated and repeated them here:
1.) You must have root to replace the TouchWiz calendar! Use root explorer or ADB to move TouchWizCalendar.apk, TouchWizCalendar.odex, TouchWizCalendarProvider.apk and TouchWizCalendarProvider.odex to somewhere on your SD Card as backups. Reboot.
2.) Go into manage applications. Filter to all. Uninstall com.android.calendar.apk and com.android.provider.calendar.apk. Reboot again.
3.) Download Calendar.apk and CalendarProvider.apk from the thread referenced above and copy them to your SD card. Install both.
4.) If you want, use root explorer to move them from /data/app to /system/app but it's really not necessary. Reboot again, should sync by default but re-enable if you need to.
If you get an error or it doesn't work, it's probably because you didn't reboot one of the three times you need to do so!

Hope that helps!
Edit: Just in case it wasn't clear, the My Calendar calendar and events in it will be deleted along with the TouchWiz calendar app, so if you have anything you want to keep from that calendar, you should back it up accordingly!
Does anyone how to repalce the Touchwiz calendar on a Captivate for the Stock calendar?

I would assume you would use something like root explorer to remove the touchwiz calendar apk from the system apps folder and install the APK for the stock calendar. Unfortunately, I'm kind of a n00b at this type of stuff so I wouldn't know where to find either calendar apk, nor whether it would have any additional consequences. Hope you find an answer better than mine.
I installed Khal's MIUI ROM successfully. But there is no Desk Clock on the Home Launcher pages. I used the "search" button on my phone and type "clock" so I can found it and use it.
But is there any method to make a icon on the Home Screen for quick use later. Please help me. Thank you.
Is there any solutions. If you don't know just let me know, or you guys look down on me.......
You can use MIUI clock widget and just click on it to launch the clock app. Alternatively you can use a different launcher.
You can try going into manage applications & clearing the cache and/or data on Launcher2
im pretty sure the clock app is in the tools folder on the home screen. my phones at motorola getting fixed so i cant look right now.
@CrystalShield no one looks down on anyone here. well at least they shouldnt. we have all had problems and it never hurts to ask. thats why we all come here, for community support
@easye420: I am sure that when I install the ROM of Khal of MIUI in this link. There is no app call "DeskClock" on home screen. I can list them here.
Page1: Gallery, Camera, music, Settings, Root Explorer (it's mine) , [Chinese something] and Theme manager.
Page2: Some Google Apps, facebook, memory, overclock, fast boot, twitter, and FM Radio.
page3: Wireless tether, Voice Search, News and weather and some of my apps (because everyone know our apps will stay at the end the these)
But I also use the "deckclock.apk" in /system/app to run the Clock. But i want it stay on my screen. I try use Shortcut, but when I click the shortcut, it "open App Manager" (like when we try to Run a APK file in ASTRO) and I also need to click on "launch" to run the app. It isn't what we want when we try to make a shortcut for an application, is it?
@3rdstring: I did, but it restore to original (still don't have it on Home).
Is there any solution for me.
By the way, Thanks all you guys very much. English is not my first language, if there is something impolite or immodest in my words. I'm sorry.................
And I am also newbie of this forum, so I don't have enough 10 posts to post and ask in the Development Box. That why I disturb you guys here. Sorry about that.
Reinstalling the app works. I just move the apk out from /system/app and install it as if it's another use app.
I have the same problem. Copying and installing doesn't work as the app has 0 bytes (!) and I always get the parsing error-obviously
If someone could upload the original with its proper size that'll be lovely.
Thanks.

I removed the DeskClock.apk from /system/app. But when I use the "search" button and type "clock". It's still there (and of course it still can be used). I have no idea about where the real app is.
It's really weird for me.(of course because I don't have enough knowledge)
This is what i do to get deskclock app to show on the screen.
1)Using root explorer copy the deskclock.apk from system/app to sdcard.
2)Using root explorer again delete deskclock.apk from system/app and in data/dalvik-cache look for [email protected]@[email protected] and delete it.
3)Restart ur phone.
4)install the deskclock.apk from sdcard and the app should appear on your screen.
Use launcher pro. Its faster, sexier and will show all your applications!
Hey, after searching XDA and google I have been unable to find a way to install the plain, old, stock Gmail Widget on a custom rom. The one that lets you pick a folder and display it in a customizable size window.
To avoid certain comments, I am *NOT* looking for a 3rd party widget which can do what I am asking. I *WANT* the plain, old, stock gmail widget that doesn't require me to install a hacked version of the gmail app to work.
Any help will get a *THANKS* click and my appreciation. I'm either looking for an APK, or a method to extract the widget from another source.
Hmmm... actually, is the stock gmail widget only available in *real* ICS builds? I'm looking at my GFs phone, but somehow I remember it being on the stock ATT rom as well. Lmk.
