Got the Moto G recently - overall very happy very good phone for the price.
I'm having a bit of trouble using it with the hands free setup in my car. This is the older BMW i-drive from 2007. I can pair the phone OK but when I make try to make a call from the i-drive it does not get registered on the phone - everything just goes quiet.
Just wondering if anyone has seen the same problem or managed to get the moto g working with older BMW i-drive.

Hi guys, Im Jewon Park live in South Korea.
I have a little problem.
I am using Optimus G for SK telecom.
I have a two earphone, bundle earphone of optimus G which is Quadbeat and the other is Logitech UE400 for iPod
When I bought UE400 , I would submit to that I can't use volume control function.
I just need pause and get the call function.
Both of mic on earphone worked well with LG electronics retail rom.
Few days ago, I installed cm-10.1.0-e975 (stable version) on my phone.
I usually use UE400, I can hear all of sound, but mic doesn't work.
I tested with my bundle earphone , it worked perfectly.
It is too hard to get the problem.
Somebody told me it is problem with ac!d( I totally have no idea), another said difference the version of Europe quadrupolar with American version.
I searched every forum and portal sites, but I couldn't find any solution( one of the reason is my bad english)
Please help me.
Would have posted this in Accessories, but can't ask questions in there
The official Sol Republic Jax earphones to match the Moto G don't seem to be on sale anywhere yet, but I'm really looking for any earphones with a 3-button remote that actually works.
For example, the remote for the HTC RC E240 doesn't register any button presses at all with the Moto G (as tested with different controller apps) despite working well with other devices like the Nexus 5. I guess Motorola have implemented their own system, hope this doesn't mean a Sol Republic lock-in ...
Anyone have any luck with others that work with the Moto G?
Wondering the same.
iPhone earbuds don't work, that's all I know.
Will keep an eye on this thread, I hope someone found a 'fully' working pair of earphones
Yesterday i tried my HTC Sensation headphone/handfree with music controls and only stop|play was working.
But the call|hang and ff/rew buttons don't work... damn, i guess they really changed something :-/
Any proposals ?
No luck
Tried these the other day and nothing worked at all Galaxy tab2 7, apart from sound coming out of them :silly:
Earlier when I bought the phone, I tried the in ear headphones which came with my Galaxy Nexus, the ones with the single button remote. Initially when I pressed the button, it used to stop the music playback & resume while doing the same. But soon it stopped working.
There's something wrong somewhere but unfortunately can't figure it out. Apple In Ear Headphones with remote & the Earpods don't work. Nor does Klipsch Image S4-II (Android) or Sennheiser remotes.
I have two pair of headsets with only one button.
A pair came with a Samsung Galaxy S (GT-i9000), and the other pair has no brand.
The second pair is the only one that works its button on my moto G (both work on the Galaxy).
Sadly I don´t have 3-button headset to see if they work.
Found a post on the motorola forums but i cannot post it because Im a new user,
the post sais that the moto G is not compatible with 3-button headsets and one button headsets made by motorola and sony works with our phone, another user asked if its a hardware issue or a software issue but didnt get an answer.
I dont know if the people who wrote that are reliable or not, but thats what they say.
Let´s hope its a software issue.

dont know if anyone is still wondering about why they dont work but that link should explain everything
Are there any official Moto G headphones that we could take a look at?
Is there any way to modify your ROM to make them work?
i've seen this being discussed a few times but with no resolve.I bought 4 oneplus one phones altogether. The first two were for me and my daughter bought a week apart.
These have worked flawlesly and both have been rooted both connect to the bluetooth in the car with no problems.
I then ordered one for the wife and the brother (family thing going here) they both arrived at the same time and both failed to pick up any signal...
I updated them through wifi then the phone aquired a signal with no problems. But here is the problem, both of that phones will not connect to the cars bluetooth..
everything on all the phones match up from the android version to the baseband so i can't get my head around why there is a problem.?
i hear that its a problem with cm ! but why are some working and others not?
are there any roms that are not cm11 based that i can flash and see if it is the software that's causing the fault or should i wait to see if there are any updates to fix this common problem?
It's the brother's phone thats the problem,he was a long time apple user and i convinced him to change to the opo now thats jumped up and kicked me in the butt...
if this is the wrong place to post this question i do appologise, not used to posting on forums.!
thank you
bluetooth problems
well here is an update if anybody is interested.I installed multirom and mahdi rom, bluetooth connects no problem now
I'm having the exact same issue. I had a Chinese OnePlus that connected easy-breezy to both my BMW and Acura cars. I got a new OnePlus just last week which has not been able to connect/pair at all with either car. The phone can not find any BT devices.
This is back breaking here in the anti-cell phone+driving Northeast.
When they do connect, as mine does, can it send/receive text msg's and emails via the car. Mine works for phone calls and music but no msg's. 2014 Toyota Corolla
same here, just got my OPO not quite a wek ago.
64gig-version, rooted, stock FW, latest OTA.
my BT headset connects just fine, just tried it in the car today, but the phone just does not find the alpine CD-headunit (connected fine with my GNEX or N4 before).
im actually thinking about trying ParanoidAndroid-ROM wich i liked very much on my N4.
any leads?
OK then, I just flashed paranoidAndroid .. Ta-Daa: connects to in-car BT Unit.
ParanoidAndroid by the way doesnt come with the OPO-Lockscreen, but the double-tap to wake up. just enough for me.
cheers!
Hey guys,
I work at Cricket Wireless here in the U.S. and i'm having a very unusual problem..
One of my customers came in wanted to know why his HTC Desire 510 wouldn't play music through BT in his car, even though it would connect. Every time Pandora or a music file plays, it plays through the phone speaker..
I thought it might just be a defective device so I grabbed a Moto G and went with him to his car to try it out, same outcome. One weird thing though was that an incoming call through the Moto G and the HTC worked over the car speakers perfectly but music would not...
I'm usually VERY good at Android troubleshooting but I am absolutely stumped. Any help would be great..
Oh also his old LG (I believe L70 or L9 not sure) worked fine thru his car BT
And also his car is a 2011, but he tried his HTC in his buddies car which is a 2014 and it had the same problem.
Anyone else run in to this problem? Allegedly Samsungs and LG's work...
Hey, i have a sony MEX6001BD head unit in my dads car. I have rooted a z2 tablet and flashed custom rom. My thoughts when i bought the head unit was that i was going to pair my android tablet to it, so it was kinda like a ''multimedia player'' and it works well! But i also want to recieve phonecalls from my phone (iphone 6s plus) so that i can have handsfree as well. But suddenly the head unit cannot handle 2 bluetooth devices at once, is there any way i can ''pair'' my phone to the tablet so that i will recieve incoming calls on tablet screens, and answer them from there? Ive seen different apps, but i think they only let me ''control'' my phone, and then again my tablet will be useless as a head unit.
Im sorry for bad english, but i hope you will understand.
