Popular budget smartphone brand, Micromax, just announced its entry into a brand new product category. At the Consumer Electronics Show, The company has announced a dual boot tablet that will join its line of products which includes smartphones, tablets and HDTVs.
Called the LapTab, the Micromax product will be powered by an Intel Atom processor. The device will run both Windows 8.1 and Android Jelly Bean so that you can switch between the two depending on your usage requirement. The rest of the specifications are fairly mid range. The processor is clocked at 1.46Ghz and is paired with 2GB of RAM. You also get 32GB of built in storage.
The tablet has a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800. You also get a rear facing 2MP camera. There’s still no word on pricing but the Micromax LapTab is expected to go on sale starting next month and will be retail with a wireless keyboard. The dual boot tablet category is an interesting entry for the indigenous brand and should provide an interesting balance between productivity and entertainment applications. We’ll have more on the product once we get our hands on it. The price is estimated to be below RS 25000

The Taiwanese manufacturer today released an official teaser for the device-within-a-device, boasting its display, processor, economical benefits, and impressive battery life.
For those who may have missed the specs sprinkled throughout the promo, here's what we know so far:

4.3" Super AMOLED qHD display (the tablet features a 10.1" display, no word on resolution)
8MP rear shooter (featuring a 5-element f/2.2 lens)

Overall, the PadFone is still looking like a pretty intriguing device. Despite the fact that the video seems to have hit a speed-bump in editing (the entire sequence repeats itself sans audio), it still provides viewers with an official piece of media to confirm that the device is still coming. At any rate, it will be interesting to see whether ASUS' unquestionably novel device can pull off the concept of a phone-powered tablet without coming off as merely a gimmick.

The device is possibly set to arrive in at least two flavours, according to multiple reports: one plastic, the other metal. It will also pack in all the latest hardware and technology, so don’t be surprised to find at least 3GB of RAM, a 2K resolution display, a completely re-worked exterior design and a fresh lick of paint on the custom TouchWiz UI.
Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 805 chipset is likely to feature in the UK version, while Galaxy S5 units bound for Asia are said to benefit from Samsung’s own 64-bit Exynos 6 CPU. With regards to a launch date it’s looking increasingly likely Samsung will launch the device at a London event in March, though there are still plenty of eyes on Mobile World Congress (MWC) for the end of February.

Chinese site Tencent is reporting the company aims to lose its super AMOLED display but it is based on “unconfirmed information.” That information does suggest though that Sharp is going to provide 5.25-inch 2K Ultra HD LTPS displays which have a higher pixel density of 560 pixels-per-inch (ppi).

The largest of Nokia's first generation of Android smartphones has just been unleashed. The big but budget-friendly Nokia XL can now be purchased in markets across Asia-Pacific, India, Middle East, and Africa.
That Nokia would out an Android smartphone was already an expected surprise but most probably did not expect that it would actually reveal more than one. Among its siblings, the Nokia XL, as the name would seem to imply, is indeed the biggest. But deep inside it is pretty much the same as the Nokia X. For one, you have the same 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor running inside. RAM is just a tad higher at 768 MB versus the 512 MB of the Nokia X. You also have the same 4 GB internal storage limitation. Both also sport dual SIM card slots.
There are, of course, considerable differences. For one, the Nokia XL has a larger 5.0-inch screen, though it has the same 800x480 resolution. It also has a front-facing camera, a 2 megapixel one, which makes the smartphone suitable for tasks such as video chats. Otherwise you still get everything that one might like, or dislike, in the Nokia X, including the unique Fastlane user interface, the Windows 8-like home screen, Nokia's own set of Android apps, and, of course, the lack of Google Play Store.
Of course, one of the biggest selling points of this device is the price tag. The Nokia XL will sell for only €109, around $152. Those who will be buying one will get to choose from lively color options of Bright Green, Orange, Cyan, and Yellow, as well as your usual choices of Black or White.

Hi all,
Just spotted the new iOcean X9 smartphone. In terms of specifications, it's the same as the just released iOcean Rock (MT6752 chipset). It also has 3GB of RAM and a full-HD screen. It's half an inch smaller though, but that's only good if you ask me (Rock was too big in my opinion). It also has a metal body instead of plastic.

The pic i mean. I already have Mlais M9. In pics looks fake on Mlais M9.
I think Elephone P7000 better than iOcean X9, especially the price.
I just bought a few iOcean X9 in China. I can perhaps post a little review as soon as I'm home and have tried it better. It's thin and looks like a solid build quality.

More info above. It's going to retail for $50USD, and will have a 720p 5" display, 2GB of RAM, 8GB ROM, and a low end MTK6580 processor. The phone itself actually looks really nice as well and I'm looking forward to see how well Bluboo creates a complete package in the Bluboo Picasso. I have a same problem! The camera is very very poor. Outdoor not so bad, but indoor. . .(OMG! very poor). Not focusing and very blury!
