Hi guys,
I recently had my One S C2 (Orange Romania) SIM unlocked by somebody with JTAG procedure (I don't know how that works, but it's the only one that does, no SIM unlock code option). After unlock the phone kept rebooting every minute so that person reflashed my phone with the latest software available:
RUU_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.15.401.100_Rad io_16.21.20.02U_16.09.20.11_M2_release_286571_sign ed.exe
OTA_VILLEC2_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.19.401.101_16.2 2.20.03U_16.11.20.24_M.zip.
Now the phone is working but I have on 3G connectivity.
I saw a possible fix here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160389&page=19 - but it seems to be for One S S4 version.
Already tried reinstalling RUU_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.15.401.100_Rad io_16.21.20.02U_16.09.20.11_M2_release_286571_sign ed.exe, but no go due to bootloader missmatch (newer hboot on pone already).
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Right, I have a big problem here...
This morning, I downgraded my HBOOT to the 0.83 version on my HTC Desire. After doing this I then installed the origional Android 2.1 Eclair onto it. Everything went perfect until my phone restarted, and then suddenly after unlocking my phone it asked for a SIM Unlock PIN. I have a PIN on my SIM, but this is the PIN you enter to initally acess your phone as a security feature, and when I inputter this code it DID NOT work. So I need quite a bit of help with dealing with this problem. I have managed to get a temporary fix on the problem, by tweaking a bit and installing a different pre-rooted ROM, however I would like to run a Un-Branded version of Froyo 2.2 on my HTC Desire.
I have a British HTC Desire on Orange Contract <I Have Heard Orange Contract Sims Are Blocked?>
All help is greatly appreciated, first post aswell so I hope someone can help thankyou

You bought a ORANGE locked phone and it's after S-OFF it's not accepting a VODAFONE SIM sounds logical to me!
Just because you've S-OFF'd you phone it doesn't mean that you have carrier unlocked it - that is something completely separate...sorry.
EDIT: You can normally pay your carrier (ie ORANGE) or pay online through a website less than £20 to carrier un-lock your phone in this way, I'm afraid that I don't know a site to recommend as I bought an unlocked phone in th e first place, but I've read several similar threads over the last few months....in this forum so have a search and a read. I recommend that you don't use a unlocking website unless someone else recommends it first.

I thought that instaling this rom RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.1_Radio_20.28b.30.080 5U_38.03.02.11_M_release will unblok my phone that is what i fugured out from the thread i downlod'it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002506 for example in post nr.11 is talking about unbranding.
Is not the same thing with what im tring to do?

More terminology confusion....
Un-branding means removing the Network branding from your ROM that be stuff like network specific splash screens and network bloatware applications which they install on top of the HTC base ROM.
By installing an unbranded HTC ROM you will will un-brand your phone in that it won't have the signs of being from a specific network, it will be like if you paid for an un-locked phone it would come with this ROM installed on it out of the box.
But, even if you install this ROM on your device and therefore un-brand it your phone will still unfortunately be locked onto the network (carrier locked) from which you bought it.
I got it wrong then !
Thanks helping me understand !
Hello,
I have tried to find an answer to my problem and can't seem to find it anywhere. Hopefully someone here will be able to assist.
Ok So I have an HTC ARIA, sim unlocked, and rooted using unrevoked3, running Aria Liberated custom ROM. Here is my problem I am not NAND (s-0ff) rooted. I have tried running revolutionary and also unrevoked forever. Neither worked. The problem is that I have hboot 0.57.0000 and I need version 1.02.0000 to make those programs work. Additionally, I need the phone to stay sim unlocked as I am in Germany for the next 3 years and am using a German cell phone company. So what I need is eithor a way to NAND root with hboot version 0.57.0000, or confirmation that if I install the stock upgrade to Android 2.2 (available on the HTC website) that my HBoot issue will be fixed with out loosing my sim unlock. I purchased the phone on ebay unlocked, I am not nor have I ever been an AT&T customer so I don't know where I would go to unlock the sim card again if it should become locked, and I don't know the code to unlock it.
Thanking you in advanced

Yes, this old chestnut.
I realise that this problem is as old as Android itself, but it actually appears to be a bunch of different problems that manifest with the same symptom. I've tried all of the solutions I can find, and none of them seem to work.
I have an Orange UK branded Desire S that I recently acquired second-hand off eBay. To begin with, everything worked fine, but the phone hadn't been updated in a while so I applied all the OTA updates (3 in total), one after the other. After the first two it was also working fine, but after the third update it stopped connecting to the Orange network.
When I attempt to connect to the Orange network manually, I get “Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network”. When I try the same SIM in another phone, it works fine. I unlocked the phone using a code and tried a Vodafone SIM, but that didn't work either. I've tried removing the battery overnight, no luck. I searched a IMEI database to see if it was blocked, and it isn't. I've tried repeatedly switching airplane mode on/off, which doesn't help. I've tried a hard reset, through the phone menu and also via the boot menu, without success.
When I type *#*#4636#*#* to enter the service menu, I can see that the phone is receiving a signal, so the antenna's working OK.
Now here comes the odd part. When I try to change the wireless band to 'WCDMA Only', it refuses to change and stays put on 'WCDMA/GSM' mode. It doesn't matter if I use the service menu or go through the 'Mobile Networks' settings, it still refuses to change.
I'm open to the concept of flashing a custom ROM, but I don't want to invalidate any warranty I may have unless that's the only option. I'd like to try flashing an RUU, but I can't find a suitable one. The only Orange ROM in this post appears to be French language:

Any comments would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I'm having the exact same issue with a HTC Sensation 4G (T-Mobile) on stock ICS.
I bought this second hand phone and bring it back to Venezuela. The phone worked swell with local carriers but suddenly lost signal and got the infamous “Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network” message.
I've tried every solution posted on the net with no results, leaving rooting as the last resort.
So, before I begin rooting my phone I just wanted to ask if you found any solution to this. :fingers-crossed:
Any help would be much appreciated! :good:
So,
I've rooted my phone. used HTCdev, juopunutbear, clockworkmod, installed Superuser and got super CID. Also, I called my carrier and checked that my IMEI was not blacklisted (just to be sure).
Messing around with the hboot I found something that I'm not quite sure what it means, in the SIMLOCK menu I found this message:
FAT32 init OK
Open MCCMNC file fail
Open CID file fail
Process done, reboot device?
<vol up> Yes
I've changed the CID to the original stock and got the same message. I don't know what it means and if it is related to my problem. I'm still using the stock rom (OTA ICS 4.0.3 T-MOBILE) planning to install OrDroid 9.0.0.
I really need some guidance over here. :crying:

Sorry to hear that. I'm still stuck with it.
I've flashed Ordroid 9.0 and the same error appears everytime I try to get signal from any carrier.
Someone told me that I should try flashing the radios or change my IMEI but I really don't know how to do it and I'm afraid I could permanently damage my phone.
Still waiting for fresh ideas to try.
Good news! (at least for me)
After I've tried almost all to solve the issue I took the phone to my carrier to get my sim card changed. they told me that someone has reported my phone as stolen in my previous carrier. So I went to the other carrier with my proof of purchase and they unblocked my phone IMEI right away.
If by any Chance you're having this same issue make your phone checked by your carrier for any kind of locks before messing with your phone.
Hope my experience will help any of you.
