[H] Requesting Dev Help - General Questions and Answers

Please assist albinoman887 on completing his CM11 Kitkat ROM for HTC Vivid/Raider
We also need more developers who currently own the device, or those that would like to help, to continue support to the crippled HTC Vivid ROMS, as far as I know there are some stable ROMS, but there is not one that is COMPLETELY stable. Thank you for your support!!:good:

[Q] Obstruction in 4.3, 4.4 and 4.x development

Hi,
Without having any (ROM) development skills I have tried to copy/port/compile a Android 4.4 ROM myself. I did not succeed but in the process I have learned a lot in general about ROM development. I'm not aspiring to be a ROM developer, but at this moment I am eager to know what exactly are the bottlenecks in creating a 4.3 or 4.4 ROM.
I have copied, dissected and altered the work of the guys who have 4.4 (partially) running on HTC Desire HD and HTC Incredible S. To my knowledge these devices have a lot in common (for the most part) and, in my mind, should work on SAGA with some tweaks (ACE -> SAGA / VIVO -> SAGA). Replacing text is off course a simplification, but hey, besides the camera, it is almost the same hardware. I guess there is more to it, because I tried several times, but did not get it to work.
I do not expect to solve these issues, but I wonder what holds the (stable) development of a 4.3 or 4.4 ROM. Outdated source code of drivers or kernel or ....
I was thinking of contacting some of the DEVS who are working on the 4.4 ACE and VIVO ports, but I hope someone on this forum can enlighten me.
Regards,
Michael
Ace and Vivo are indeed closest models to saga and very similar,..when ported to saga,
the roms seems ussualy faster, lighter, cleaner, much less bugy than those, ported (especially directly) from other devices,
.. What- most possibly holds the development for this device is the kernel (or its absence)-as often,..
very likely,-when there was a possibility to boot the port, without jumping also, to self porting/modding its kernel,
we would have seen yet quite a few stable KitKat ports,..
Kernel devs for desire s were briliant- but never many,
now, only @kylon remains active- pardon me if i`m not correct ,,

Best HTC Stock ROM without Sense!

Hello,
maybe some user who's better with the subject could help me with this:
which HTC Stock based ROM is the best? I don't like / want Sense. Need a slim, fast htc based rom (and it should be flashable with cwm).
I'm currently at cyanogen mod. Thank you for your time and help!

Help! We need developers! Please

Developers out there... Our C2 has been idle/dead for almost a month now and we still don't have a stable KitKat ROM as there's too many bugs. Some devs helped but in the end they couldn't fix it. I volunteer as a beta tester and test out new roms or kernels. Is there anyway you guys can atleast bring us a stable KitKat ROM - maybe omni ROM or carbon kk ROM. 4.4 Sense ROMs are fine as well.
We need your help developers, we need more updated stable ROMs.
Anyone out there with decent knowledge on fixing kernels and ROM bugs, we need your help.
Thank you for reading and I hope you guys consider it.
You can visit our Development thread and get a sample 4.4 rom and check it out.
Thanks again
Best regards,
ClarkOwen

[Completed] [Q] htc one m7 rom

hi guys. Im new here. I got a question. I wanna install a custom rom on my htc one m7. but i dont know which rom is good. I wanna improve battery life, rom should look streamlined and useful. anyone can help me ?
Hi,
Asking which Rom is best is against XDA Rules The reason is that all developers develop their Rom's with difficulties and lot of efforts hence pointing to 1 rom disrespects work of other rom developer Also what rom satisfies me may not satisfy you because all depends and varies from user to user whether what apps they install , their usage of device , their they way of features they want etc Hence best way is to try the Rom's yourself and judge which rom is best for suited for you
Good Luck!

[Completed] Custom ROMs For HTC One V (Differences, Bugs, Info)

Hello,
I am new to this site, and new to this thing, but I am interested to update my HTC one V with some custom ROM (jellybean or higher) and I wanna know some info about which one is the most stable and popular one, with no bugs or trivial bugs.. It is frustrating because they are plenty of ROMs and kernels here.. and what is the difference between AOSP and AOKP version? somewhere I read that aokp is less stable but better... I actually want features included RAM and CPU clocking, because this is the coolest thing in these custom ROMs.. :cyclops:
- I have HTC one V (GSM) rooted and bootloader unlocked
- I have CWM recovery 6.0.3.3 installed
- I have official android v4.0.3
so which ROM you guys prefer to me and which kernel that goes along? and is my CWM version ok or I need other one?.. I really want to get more of this phone than I am getting now.. it's a really nice phone but it's a bit lazy when operating tasks, so it's not for impatient users
I am new to this, but I somehow succeeded to root my V, thanks for detailed instructions on this site, so thanks to you guys ..now I just have to update my ROM, and I will be more than happy
