i have no solution for your problem but you could try out droid manager.
this windows tool should show every folder. it has many features, beside the filebrowser, that might be usefull for you too.
i just bought a pro license to unlock wifi. usb mode is free.
crashes sometimes on my pc, but its ok...

Did you disable 'hide file extension'?
Because technically everything after the dot is a file extension to Windows if there's no actual file extension.

I'd like to use it, mainly because I would only connect via USB, but it seems to be very complicated.
I can not even find the link to download the version 7!

I was.
Can you see the generic Windows hidden folders? There's a bug that happens sometimes that makes hidden folders invisible even if the setting is set to "show".
Seems you're still unlocky when it comes to devices... Did you ever solve the mismatching files on your TF700?

You can see the hidden folders.
If I put the card into a reader files are visible.

If you want to see the hidden folders use Droid Manager.

I'm trying but it's hard!
I can not get it started.

Yes, it is a bit complicated first and the ui could be cleaner too.
I couldnt get it to work using n3 custom kernel. Some error about ls option, ..., showed up trying to use the filebrowser. I switched to civz kernel and now it works. For some operations you may need to install the adb insecure app by chainfire.
Hm, you have usb debugging enabled, dont you ?

I had contact with the developer, and he is preparing a update of the app. If you have ideas of your own, go to the thread and put them there. He is very flexible, and he listens to your suggestions.

thanks, good to know !
it really needs to improve a lot but its ok for now. i dont use it that much atm.

I DroidManager install thanks to the valuable advice of the author. Now I can see the folders with the point in front.
There is always the problem of the display of folders named with a dot in Windows

This has nothing to do with the Hidden FOlders setting in Windows OS.
It's to do with how MTP works.
It seems MTP is an abstraction of the actual file system unlike Mass Storage. So MTP (on the device) scans the disk for the list of folders and presents a list of folders and files that are normal only, not hidden. That's why you might not even see a new file show up in Windows if you manually added a file from the device side because MTP hasn't updated the list of available files.

[GUIDE] Enable UMS Mode for External SD Card ***UPDATED***

I have recreated this method based on this post to make it much easier for everyone to get this setup on their devices with complete details.
Confirmed Working With
1. Windows 7
2. Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
3. Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion)
4. Other OS versions possible just not yet confirmed/tested (only thing stopping is driver support)
How to Enable UMS Mode on your Verizon Galaxy S III
1. Make sure you are currently rooted ***VERY IMPORTANT***
2. Download and install the Samsung Official Verizon Galaxy S III USB Drivers - Link Here
3. Download and install GScript Lite from the Play Store onto your device - Link Here
4. Download the Verizon Galaxy S III UMS-MTP Switcher Scripts to your computer - Link Here (or attachment at bottom of OP)
5. Create a folder called "gscript" on the root of your internal storage (/sdcard partition)
6. Extract the two scripts from the zip file (from step #4) into that folder on your device - Screenshot Here
7. Open GScript Lite on your device
8. Press the Menu key on your device and select "Add script"
9. Press the "Load file" button and select "UMS Mode.sh", then press the "Save" button and the UMS Mode script will be added to the list
10. Press the Menu key on your device and select "Add script" again
11. Press the "Load file" button and select "MTP Mode.sh", then press the "Save" button and the MTP Mode script will be added to the list
12. Select the "UMS Mode" script from the list and allow Superuser for root access
13. The script will now run and do not worry if GScript Lite force closes at the end as this is perfectly normal
14. On your Windows 7 computer you will see it will try to install "SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device" as one of the drivers and fail *this is normal*
15. Go into Device Manager on your computer, right click "SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device" and select "Properties"
16. Click on the "Driver" tab and click the "Update Driver" button, a prompt will then come up
17. Select "Browse my computer for driver software", then select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" on the next screen
18. Select "USB Mass Storage Device" as the new driver from that list and finish up that install
19. At the end you will see something like this on your computer - Screenshot Here
20. Windows will install final drivers automatically and a new "Disk drive" will show up on your computer, this is your external SD card on your device
21. If you want to return to MTP Mode, just select "MTP Mode" script from GScript Lite on your device and after it force closes you will be back to normal

Benefits of UMS Mode
USB Mass Storage (UMS) Mode used the old way of managing USB storage (like Galaxy S II and so on) before that changed to Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) Mode (aka. Device mode) with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The benefit of UMS Mode is that it will work with special devices that try to read your phone like a car radio head unit will now be able to read the songs, pictures, videos, etc through the USB port properly, as well as your TV (if it has USB support of course), among many other devices. Also it's a much more reliable method of transferring files on your computer since it's basically direct access to the SD Card as opposed working through a special protocol with MTP or PTP Mode. This mod will enable your SD Card to show up as a regular disk drive instead of a device on whatever you plug into with a USB port. Hope that helps explain it a bit without being too technical. For details on why Google decided to switch to MTP Mode see this article.

Awesome, sweet write up. :good:
I may have to try this. The MTP doesn't work on my Mac for some reason. Android file transfer just crashes whenever I try it.
Do you have to enable the script at boot?
Explanation in OP very summary.
Plug the phone where? In the computer or the AC adapter?
If in the computer then why is necessary that to run the script.
If you don't use the GScript Lite then what do you use to run the scripts (Terminal?).
If you copy the script to the phone then the files should have which extension? I mention that because there is nothing attached.
Do not forget that you're dealing here with a lot of noobs.
Please be so kind and review the OP.
If the script works correct then this is a big deal and I congratulate you but do it like a pro.
Cheers.

I just tried it and it works perfectly.
This part is very important:
If Windows fails to find the correct driver, go to the Device Manager and manually set it to use the driver, "USB Mass Storage Device". It seemed to try to stick with the MTP driver in my case.

OK here is what I did.
Installed Script Manager free from the market.
Copied both scripts into sdcard\scripts folder.scripts folder created by myslef.
Opened the mass storages.sh script and run it.
I've got bunch of error messages that it cannot find this and that.
The phone was connected to the computer.
If necessary I can screenshot the errors.

Don't use those scripts, I have issues with them as well. Just copy/paste the OP text into your own script using GScript Lite.
OK let's try. I'll report back.
Edit: OK I did what you proposed. Created the script in GSript Lite and saved then ran. Nothing happens. After I run it GScript FCs. I'm giving up.
This is so simple that I don't think that I'm messing up something.

GScript does have force close issues but don't worry, it still runs as long as you don't see any errors when it's done.
I have just extracted the working GScripts I created and added them to OP for anyone who wants to import them into their GScript Lite. Just create a folder called "gscript" on your internal memory "/sdcard" partition and put those two .sh files into that folder. Then just use the app to add each of them as a new script (load file).

Please be informed that I have completely updated and rewrote my own guide for the OP. You will see all details and screenshots necessary to get this setup. If something is not clear please feel free to let me know and I will try to answer as best as I can. Please be advised that this has only been tested and guaranteed to work 100% on Windows 7 based computers so far. I cannot confirm for Windows XP, Mac OS X, Linux, or other devices. If someone can test this elsewhere would be greatly appreciated. Hope this helps you guys.

So what does this enable you to do? Browse the entire internal memory when connected to USB, opposed to just the microSD?

So you are running AOKP , so i assume you are not just talking about moving files from your PC to your tab , after installing the correct drivers from Samsung ( either via Kies or Windows update).
So what exactly do you want to do ? Am i right in saying that you want full access from your PC to your tab via USB ? From what I have worked out it doesn't work like that with our tabs as the set permissions wont let you. Or have it got it wrong ?
Have you read this thread by ChainFire? ( he IS the man ! ).

Sorry, I don't understand why it's better. I just bought a Tab 2 and when I hooked it up to my pc I could see the folders and files and copy music and videos to it. I was going to hook it up again now to see if it's about getting into system files or something, but I'm exchanging it later today and I already did a factory reset.
Is it something to do with modding system files, rooting and flashing files that's easier with it? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm new to the Tab and rooting and flashing on my phone (Rezound) is so completely different than this, I'm still absorbing everything and trying to understand it all before I do anything with a Tab.

[Q] MTP Can't see files on computer

I switched over to ViperXL and so far it's running great. But I'm having a small problem where I can see the files on my phone just fine with ES File Explorer, and other file explorers, but when connected to the computer, I only see a few folders and the files I loaded just now to my phone. The connection is fine since I can move files in between, but I can't see the vast majority of my files. Was wondering if there was something like a quick refresh toggle I'm missing?
Thanks!
Solved, in case anyone else has this problem, this app did the trick:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bero.sdrescan&hl=en
U can also just go into recovery and mount usb. Windows auto play may ask u want u wanna do, click view files. Hmm files seen es should be same on pc for SD CARD location. Click show hidden files in your windows folders view option . You can also mount system files in recovery also ...

This app didn't work for me, the "preparing..." circle thing just kept turning FOREVER.
solution
this worked for me
go to Device manager on your control panel
look for your android phone driver
probably there is a yellow triangle
means there is a problem in the driver software
any way simply you Uninstall the driver ( right click > uninstall)
then reconnect your phone
it will download a new software for your phone driver
and it shall work fine
)
Guaranteed working solution for windows XP+ is to uninstall any HTC drivers and HTC sync and then install the latest HTC Sync. It has the MTP drivers built in.
As the solution above will only work on versions of windows that have MTP device drivers Windows 7 or 8.. maybe vista?

[Q] USB not detected

My phone is still a stock phone, all I have used was only official OTA updates in the past 2 years. All I wanted to do are just flash recovery and try some 3rd party ROMs on this phone. To get everything started I have to unlock bootloader via HTCdev, or maybe do some backup using Helium. Either way I will have to connect my phone to my pc via USB cable. But the USB just not detected. I think there's a problem caused by the 4.2.2 update? Before that everything was fine. See what I've tried already below.
Model of my phone
>One XL Asia (international?)
Bootloader details
>In the attachments
Current ROM/kernel
>Stock
Current recovery
>Not flashed yet
All events that lead to your current situation
>I haven't done anything to it
What you've tried already
✓unplug and replug (over 9000 times)
✓uncheck and check USB debug (over 9000 times)
✓reboot my phone and try again (a few times)
✓uninstall USB driver on my PC, then reboot PC, re-install (a few times)
✓switch cable
✓switch PC
✓switch USB port
✓switch phone:
magically, when I switch phone, which is a HTC desire, everything works fine, USB detected, adb works well, fastboot command works well
under same condition, everything works fine on the desire, but only when I plug my One XL in, everything don't work, so I bet the problem is on the phone?
Anything else that's relevant
>Phone running Android 4.2.2
>My PC runs 64-bit Win 7
>Maybe what I included in attachment will be useful?
I have the basic knowledge on flashing ROMs and stuffs, but I'm a noob in front of all you gods, please help.

Can you get Harware ID for that Unknown device from Device manager??
If you can add that Hardware Id to your Drivers .ini file and update the driver manually pointing to that driver folder.
Edit: I tried the drivers from this post and they worked for me

In the link I posted you will find a link to download the Win 7 64 bit drivers for HTC.
http://d-h.st/OYI
Unzip the archive downloaded from the link. In the extracted folder you will find a file named "androidusb.ini" open it with Notepad and Add your device hardware id found from the device manager to the file like below and save it.
%MyHTC%=HTCAND64.Dev, USB\XXHARDWARE_IDXXXXX
Follow the steps from this link to update your drivers once above modification is done.

sorry i have been busy round these days, no time to deal with my phone
look at the attachments and you'll know why i included some Chinese words, in case my roughly translation is not accurate, you can still copy them and see what google translate says
i right clicked on the "unknown device" in device manager, and clicked into Properties(內容)

then when i came to the 10th step of this page: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/ht/update-drivers-windows-7.htm
something pops out and says
您指定的資料夾沒有包含裝置可使用的相容軟體驅動程式
如果資料夾中含有驅動程式,請確認它已設計為搭配 適用於 x64 型系統的 Windows 使用
it's roughly says there is not usable driver for win 7 64 bit in that path file i selected, then it did nothing i have to close it
and i just found out, when my phone is in fastboot and USB connected, ADB command works fine, if you know what i mean
that means, i can unlock the bootloader, but still, i need to backup my apps and data, is there an alt solution for me to do backup rather than fixing the driver and use Helium?

Honor 6 plus & Android File Transfer Issues

Hello everyone,
I was using my Honor 6 plus and android fil transfer without any problem for the past month. But suddenly instead of having the all the files stocked in my phone available on the software window, i've an empty window (as shown in the picture below). With this i can transfer my files from my computer but i can't choose were to put them, and the most problematic is i can't transfer files from my phone (cause i can't access any).
I checked most of the developper options (the mtp is enable).
This issue starts after update to emui 4.0. Befor that i rooted my phone using kingroot.
The strange thing is when i try with my girlfriends phone (honor 5c emui 4.0) android file transfer work properly.
Dose someone have an idea ?
Cheers

Hello everyone,
I was using my Honor 6 plus and android fil transfer without any problem for the past month. But suddenly instead of having the all the files stocked in my phone available on the software window, i've an empty window (as shown in the picture below). With this i can transfer my files from my computer but i can't choose were to put them, and the most problematic is i can't transfer files from my phone (cause i can't access any).

I can't see a picture. Android file transfer? You're using a Mac then? Did you select files from the notification panel after connecting USB?
Hi,
I'm not able to publish external as i'm new to this forum. Yes i'm using à mac. Yes i selected file from the notification panel. The Android file transfert soft show à blank window. I checked all the program optionand i can just create a new folder and that's it !
Do you have same issue on a Windows computer? Reinstall Android file transfer.
Try with USB debugging enabled

Yes it does. Funny I forgot to mention and I use it always. Root required btw. Never liked MTP mode.
