This is a Stock ROM with a KitKat "Theme". And no. itsn't a Installable .zip...
PS: KitKat Port is in Development yet :3
Related
I ripped this app from ParanoidAndroid on my Galaxy Nexus, and modified it in apktool, so all credit goes to the CM team for implementing, brut-all for apktool and the Paranoid Team for their awesome ROM
This should work on android versions 4.0 and above, the minSdkVersion is set to that (not 2.3, sorry, it uses ICS dependences)
YOUR ROM MUST HAVE THEME CHOOSER ALREADY TO USE THIS, THIS IS NOT SOME MIRACLE IMPLEMENTATION!
I need testers on CM9, it's not guaranteed to work. Before installing it to system on CM9 and ICS ROMs, test that you don't get "Error Parsing Package" in Package Installer
Installation Guide:
1.) If you have a theme applied, set the system theme and reboot
2.) Download this (ThemeChooser apk) http://d-h.st/CEB (or in attachments)
3.) Download this (ThemeManager apk - don't know if it needs this, but just in case) http://d-h.st/wXL (or in attachments)
4.) BACKUP YOUR ROM IN RECOVERY
5.) BACKUP YOUR THEMECHOOSER AND THEME MANAGER IN TITANIUM BACKUP [Just in case]
6.) Using a root file manager, go to /system/app
7.) Mount the system
8.) Rename "ThemeChooser.apk" to "ThemeChooser.bak"
9.) Rename "ThemeManager.apk" to "ThemeManager.bak"
10.) Copy the two apks you downloaded to this folder
11.) Make them both rw-r--r-- (chmod 644)
12.) Reboot your phone
13.) Try to apply a theme. If it force closes when applying, reboot, try again and it should work.
If it still force closes, post a logcat and I'll try to help

Did the ROMs have theme chooser before?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
no
install it with system app installer
A way...
Is there anyway that the ROMs that have no Theme Chooser.apk on the system folder can push the theme chooser and theme manager .apk in the systme and make it work? Is it even possible? Just curious.
Doesn't work on CM12. I'm using a Huawei Ideos u8800 X5, there're no apk in /system/app just a bunch of folders, I had a lot of trouble to finally found both
ThemeChooser.apk and ThemeManager.apk they were in 2 folders, "ThemeChooser" and "ThemesProvider" inside /system/priv-app folder.
Finally I copied the T-mobile versions over the originals, did all the rw-r--r-- stuff, rebooted the phone, and no theme changer in the app drawer. I then run the ThemeChooser.apk directly from the folder with a rooted file explorer, it asked me if I would like to upgrade since a new version was "found", I said yes, and then it failed the "update". And no theme changer in the app drawer again.
I did everything.
By the way, inside the "ThemeChooser" and "ThemesProvider" folders, there was a "arm" folder, with ThemeChooser.odex.gz and ThemesProvider.odex.gz respectively
A pity, I would like to try some cool Miui 6 themes, since I'm becoming to hate the too-flat and boring android default interface
Can I make it on my device I have stock Rom kk HTC desire 820g+
Hello folks! This is my first post in xda and I want to share these roms for goophone i5s (if any).
This is my first post in xda by the way and I am very new with the interface so expect for flaws in this thread.
In this thread, I will include the tips and the installation processes for convenience to users.
Just take note that you have to back up everything before doing anything as usual.
Also, I assume that you have your custom recovery already installed and if not, just google it and you can find some steps to install custom recovery for mediatek devices
The ROMS :
- iOS Skinned
- Jelly Bean android stock rom
These roms were optimized for this phone to be responsive as a daily driver. All these roms were modified by the people in 4pda forum which i dont know if they are members of xda. Credits to them!
- iOs Skinned rom
This rom is a merged rom from different goophone i5s rom to mimic the look of iOs. The launcher is replace with the app "iLAuncher" for it to have a smoother experience, rooted and many more . You just have to discover it yourself.
Tips for this rom:
For better multitasking experience, you can use @zeppelinrox ultimatic patcher for a better multitasking experience and give thanks to him of course. Hats off to him
Install Greenify and XPOSED FRAMEWORK(Yes xposed framework!) to acces its experimental features. Dont get to excited about it yet since some of the modules in the xposed framework are compatible with AOSP based roms .
You cannot activate the accessibility service of this rom by the way. But with some analysis, I was able to activate it then. You mus install 2 apps: Secure Settings and E-robot which found in the playstore. Here are some of the instructions on how to use those apps to activate its accessibility service: (Assuming you have those apps installed)
1. Open Secure Setting and navigate to "SYSTEM+" (upper part) and "Enable" it
2.Open E-robot and tap the "+" button on it to add "commands". Name the command as you wish and select ok.
3. In the command, tap in "+" to add "Actions" (under actions group). Navigate to "3RD PARTY APPS" on the upper portion of the app (swipe to the left until you see it).
4. Tap on "Secure Settings". Select "System + Actions" and navigate to "Accessibility Services".
5. Next, you have now the choice of apps to be enabled. Never forget to "save" the one you have selected (save icon seen on top).
6.You will now be directed to the main page of the app, tap on "save" icon and then tap the "play" sign to execute the command and actions.
That's it! Im sorry for I did not include screenshots on this one. Just follow the steps and you'll have it
All other settings and options shall be based upon your taste
ROM Installation instructions:
Before doing anything, again, have a backup of your phone using either custom recovery or mtk droid tools to retrieve your current rom.
Also, you need the following:
- SP Flashtools v3..... (i prefer these versions )
- boot.img of your current rom. you can have your boot.img on your backups. (this is for compatibility issues so do not forget this step)
Steps: (Don't connect your usb cable yet)
1. Extract the downloaded zip file to a specified folder. After the extracting, copy your boot.img and paste it to the extracted folder (you have to replace the boot.img found in the extracted folder).
2. Open SP Flashtools run it and click "Scatter Loading". Navigate to the extracted folder and there you can see the "scatter file".
3. Click firmware upgrade. In case you failed to do it, check the files checked if it has its contents linked. In my situation, i found "USRDATA" not linked to the file extracted. Simply click it and navigate to "user data" file found in the extracted folder.
4. Click "Firmware Upgrade" again and now, this is the time that you have to connect your phone via usb cable to the computer.
5. Patiently wait for it as it downloads the files and if says "Download ok" with "green" circle, disconnect your phone and you are now good to go.
6. Boot up the phone and please do wait for it to boot up as it takes a while for it to display. You will then have a black screen with the status bar shown and wait for it until it launches the launcher
That's it and customize it as you wish
Download link of the rom: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3EnRaB-uXW8YlFXVjk4TlJmcjg&authuser=0
Patched services.jar for this rom for ease: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3EnRaB-uXW8b1hDNzAyMFFWNzQ&authuser=0
*Simply overwrite the original services.jar found in /system/framework/services.jar and give the right permissions -rw-r--r--
Note*: This "may" not be compatible with the jb android stock rom services.jar.
Just copy the URL above since I cannot direct you to the link due to xda rules
-Jelly Bean Stock Android ROM
This rom is the one I am currently using since I do envy the look and feel of android lollipop. With this rom, you can do almost everything a native android can do. Install XPOSED FRAMEWORK for you to customize it.
Tips for this rom:
Accessibility for this phone is not a problem. Only you have this annoying navigation bar which is unpleasant . You can edit the build.prop if you want to get rid of it. just google it You can also resize it using GravityBox.
Also, the developer options for this rom lacks other options like the animations, simply install "GravityBox" module and navigate to "MTK 6589......fix settings" and tap "Advanced Developer Option".
ROM Installation instructions:
You need the following:
-custom recovery
-boot.img of your current rom (boot.img of your phone rather )
Steps:
1. Put the Downloaded rom (zip file) in your sd card.
2. boot into recovery and wipe everything "wipe data and factory reset", "wipe cache partition" and "wipe the dalvik cache" (advanced)
3. After wiping everything, select "install zip from sd card" and select the zip file and install it.
4. Wait for it to finish and after the installation, I do recommend to wipe everything again and then reboot.
Enjoy!!

Hi guys
Came back to xda after long times
Sorry to all my fans
If you like my work do please hit thanks
Now it is a very bad truth that core 2 will never ever get a lollipop official upgrade as its hardware is not going to support lollipop.
So i thought to provide my fans a bit long but trusted way to get a lollipop look, feel, performance on their lazy kitkat devices.
Lets get start
I SUPPOSE THAT YOU HAVE A ROOTED DEVICE. if not then check out my previous guides.
YOUR DROID HAVE ATLEAST 80 % BATTERY.
AND YOU HAVE NO BRAIN
with all this things you arevready to go.
Folllow me boys step by step
1 - UPGRADING LOLLIPOP LAUNCHER
for this we are going to use NOVA LAUNCHER. You can use any lollipop styled launcher for yourself.
Firstly go to es file explorer and onnnnnn the root explorer option.
Then copy the nova launcher apk and past it to /system/priv-app.
After pasting long press it and on right bottom click three dot symbol.head on to permissions and just diasble all exicutable and Botton two write permissions like thisView attachment 3431496
After doing that just delete the default launcher apk and odex file from same folder.
Reboot device and you get the lollipop launcher.
2 - UPGRADING LOLLIPOP KEYBOARD
for this we are going to use latinimegoogle keyboard.
Firstly go to es file explorer and onnnnnn the root explorer option.
Then copy the apk and past it to /system/app.
After pasting long press it and on right bottom click three dot symbol.head on to permissions and just diasble all exicutable and Botton two write permissions like thisView attachment 3431496
Then copy the lib and past it to /system/lib.
After pasting long press it and on right bottom click three dot symbol.head on to permissions and just diasble all exicutable and Botton two write permissions like
thisView attachment 3431496
After doing that just delete the default samsung keyboard apk and odex file from same folder.
Reboot. After rebooting go to settings of keyboard as usually and go to advance section there you will find that material theme option.choose material theme for lollipop look.
Apk and lib files are on this link
Apk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByZiuaK2U388UTQ0dkJlc2RaZ2c/view?usp=docslist_api
Lib https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByZiuaK2U388ZGZVMFFrVk03RFU/view?usp=docslist_api
3 - UPGRADING LOLLIPOP LOCKSCREEN
just follow all instructions which you used for launcher.but you do nat have any specific apk for lockscreen in samsung devicea so you do not need to delete any apk.
Download any lockscreen from market of your choice.
Make shure you have changed file permissions.
4 - UPGRADING LOLLIPOP NOTIFICATIONS
all love heads up notification.
For that you need to download two akp
Xposed installer and its module " heads up notifier" both are in apk form so for both files follow the same instructions as launcher but again you do naot have to delete any apk at last.
Remember the correct permissions.
After rebooting just open xposed framwork and click on modules and enable the notifier module.come back to main menu and click framework and click on install and it will ask for rebooting.after reboot younwill have heads up notifications enabled.
5 - UPGRADING CORE 2 DISPLAY
now a bit different thing.
Open es file explorer and navigate to /system/build.prop.
Open this file.
Tap on the pencil on right top.
Now you will see a line ending with 4.4.2 just change it to 5.2.0
There are two lines saying ro.sf.lcd_density 240 change the value to 200 in both the lines
There are lines like
dalvik.vm.heapstartsize=5m
dalvik.vm.heapgrowthlimit=68m
dalvik.vm.heapsize=94m
Change them to
dalvik.vm.heapstartsize=10m
dalvik.vm.heapgrowthlimit=68m
dalvik.vm.heapsize=256m
Done save changes and reboot
Your device now is mostly like lollipop and you have a 20% boosted performance device which eats less battery when in power saving mode.
6 - UPGRADING LOLLIPOP STATUS BAR ICONS
You can download xstana module of xposed installer.install it on your device and tap on notification in status bar after rebooting open the app and choose which style you want.
Follow the same launcher guide above but you dont have to delete any app.
NOW FOR IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A NAVIGATION BAR IN YOUE DEVICE YOU HAVE TO EDIT YOUR BUILD.PROP AND ADD A LINE AT ITS END
qemu.hw.mainkeys = 0
After saving fild just reboot and you will get mavigation r right at botton.
This is a screen shot of my device

I have installed and tested all the custom ROMs in this forum. Everything is unique in its own way.
I am from India ,and I found that my regional fonts(especially TAMIL) doesn't support with any of the custom ROM.
I tried copying fonts but doesn't work.
Then I recovered my stock firmware using recovery and tried to modify my stock ROM. I succeeded.
Its just a noob post but might help someone like me.
This is not only for S7562 but the links posted here is only for S7562.

FACE LOCK MOD
Screenshots
Requirement
1. any device running 4.0.4 without facial recognition lock system
2. cwm recovery.
3. device having a front camera.
Instructions
Download the zip file from Facelock mod zip
copy it into your external card of the device
reboot into recovery
install from sdcard
find the zip file facelock.zip
flash it.
reboot to system and you're done.
General view
1. Will this zip file flash on other devices, is it safe?
Ans. Yes, It would flash easily as long as you have cwm and a front camera, there are no risky codes in the updater script, it will just mount the system, copy files in app folder, lib and vendor folder. so minimum chance of conflict as long as you don't have facelock files in your device already. have tested it on ICS 4.0.4.
2. I am on a,b,c rom of x,y,z device, can I flash this?
Ans. Sure, it's upto you, if you want to try it out. But before you do, take a nandroid backup, will ya? don't come blaming on me.
3. How to get rid of this after installing?
Ans. Dude, make up your Mind First, Do you want it or not? If you're sure you want it, then only proceed. but still at some point, humans tend to get bored of things and want to get rid of it like wife just
look inside the zip file those are the files you will have to delete from your system using your root explorer.
Bootanimation mod qmg 2 zip
For stock Rom, or on Roms that supports only stock .qmg format bootanimation.
this mod will change system/media/bootanimation.qmg to system/media/bootanimation.zip format.
The zip file contains slimkat bootanimation. Only for s duos s7562 and s7562L on ICS 4.0.4. Do not flash this on CM11 builds of Rom.
1. Download S7562_qmg2zip_slimkat.zip
2. Place it on your external sdcard
3. Reboot to custom recovery
4. Browse and flash.
5. Reboot recovery.
To change to other Bootanimations
Note if you want to change to other bootanimation you can use a root explorer file manager.
copy any other bootanimation.zip
browse to root/system/media delete or move the bootanimation.zip file present in your folder. don't overwrite zip file.
make sure the name of the file is set to "bootanimation.zip" if it's not, it won't work.
Set permission on the file rw-r-r or 755.
I recommend You use Mixplorer file manager from playstore. it sets correct permission automatically. so makes your job easier.
Reboot

Basically, this was stock and it doesn't have many things added to it except edited pictures inside and some codes to get this look. it should work on people who are on
1. Stock Rom 4.0.4
2. PMP king Rom (not compatible with L touch or SGS5 rom cause it will conflict with their framework)
3. or rom that have not gone under heavy UI changes.
In any way, it's probably better to take a backup of your systemui.apk in case anything goes wrong you can put the original systemui.apk back to system with a root explorer or a CWM flashable zip

A Note to Someone who wants to copy this work, you are free to use and edit this in your roms, but don't forget to give proper credits to me and if you are posting this on a new thread, don't forget to give link to my original thread. Thank you.

Only the flashable bootanimations zip files. they will work on all other devices and all Roms which uses zip format files for bootanimation. So yes Cm11 compatible.
