[Q] What is(are) the best kernel(s) ? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys !
Just a quick question as I will be receiving my N5 fairly soon I wanted to know what is the best kernel for this phone or at least for my use which is not that intensive but battery life is always a plus and I have to say the tap2unlock is really appealing.
Thanks !

Try them and decide. I like Franco but everyone's needs are different

Okay, sorry guys, silly me:silly:, forgot about that, I'm actually in a lot of different forums and I sometimes forget some of the rules.
I'll try them and see for myself, feel free to delete this thread, and again, sorry.

As everyone has pointed out these threads are not allowed on XDA as highlited in my post stickied at the top of the section.

Looking for the best ROM or Kernel? The fastest ROM or Kernel? Head over to the development section and try a few for yourself. We do not allow threads asking about the best/fastest ROM/Kernel at XDA. Please do not create threads comparing ROMs or Kernels. Any of these threads created no matter how they are titled will be closed.
Thanks!

***Do Not Post Your Question Here, It Will Be Locked/Deleted*** Please Read!!!

There seems to be a very large amount of [Q] threads posted here in the general section.
There is a specific Q&A section here! PLEASE USE IT!!
The general section is NOT for asking questions!
This not only helps to keep the forums tidy and easier to navigate, it ensures that users with a problem can get the help they require quickly and easily.
A cluttered forum isn't much use to anyone.
As of now [25/7/11] misplaced threads are subject to being locked/deleted without notice. DO NOT PM me to complain because you probably will not receive a response.
If you are unable to figure out that [Q]'s belong in the Q&A section then there is very little chance you will manage to hack your device without running into trouble....
Thanks.
Yeah! What he said!

This forum is super helpful if organized - keep the clutter down!
Too many questions are being posted here in General, I'm doing some cleaning, then I'm going to start just locking threads

seriously what would make you think this would go in the development thread?
If you don't care enough to post in the correct location I doubt anyone is going to care enough to help you

awesome, love it.
WTF, no matter what we do to tell people not to post questions or comments in here, nobody listens. Only senior members should be able to create threads.
There should be a noob section or an i-dont-know-where-to-post one.
Try reflashing. Have worked for me in the past.
I will not help anyone that doesn't at least know how to post threads their right section.

i agree with you. cant people with a certain post/thanks count have some say in some stuff around here? it would help the mods out a bunch and make this forum much cleaner/more useful

If you are really that desperate to know then search and find out for yourself. This has nothing to do with phone development - at the least this thread should have been posted in Off-Topic, where it could have been flamed to death by people far better than me.

This thread isn't in phone development and this thread is located in general discussion/questions and answers.so I can ask any question I want because its in question and answer also its in general discussion so some people would love to discuss some stuff.

Actually a better place to put this is under about xda-developers.com
The general section actually means general discussion of phones, not just any random thing you feel like talking about.
The oldest thread is probably some post by an admin outlining the rules of xda when it first started, or a post talking about what the site is for and what he wanted it to become.

Whats the best

What are the best kernels and roms
WOW a post like this, right smack dab in the Development section, bypassing Q&A should get an automatic 3 day ban or something for not following the simplest of rules LMAO! How comical. And for not even glancing over the rules! This is hilarious! Lol
The best is when you learn to post in the right section.

Last night, a guy posted that he is undermining the forum rules and posting here to get emergency help. Didn't get flamed too bad. This guy get's flamed xD. But it's all personal choice.

The dev section is no place for questions. Also there is no best ROM for a individual user, so the question is subjective based on individual needs. Please take some time and read the posts in the dev section, that way you can make your own mind up which is best for your individual needs.

Which is the Best and Most Stable AOSP Rom?

Hi all....I love this phone, the best I've had so far. I am on Cataclysm but want to get rid of all the Google stuff and other Bloat. I understand that installing an AOSP Rom is the best way to go about achieving this. However, I am totally inexperienced at flashing and using AOSP Roms and need some experienced input about this. Which AOSP Rom is the most stable and reliable for this device? My main concerns are a good and constant data signal, stable wifi / wifi tether and easy upgrades and strong development community. I know thats a lot to ask of any Rom but thats what I need. Thank you for any input....

Stay away from aosp. Most stable and aosp never go together, its continually under development.

That's a sweeping generalisation and inaccurate statement.
OP must make his own decision on what is stable for his use

OP, there is no such thing as BEST. They are all BEST as you can see by the loyal members using each. Just read through the threads, make a backup and flash away and decide what is BEST for YOU.
