[Q] Kindle Fire HD 7 Play Store Problem - General Questions and Answers

Hey guys, I have a kindle fire hd 7" with the new unofficial CyanogenMod 11 Android 4.4 ROM. One problem I noticed was that the google play store is not downloading apps. It is stuck at saying downloading but never actually starts. I have to sideload everything. Also, both dolphin browser and the stock android browser lose connection sometimes and don't work. I have deleted the hosts file but that is only temporary. I have freedom running if that changes anything and the wifi connection status is the top right corner of the screen doesn't have the up and down pointers during some times. It used to work after a reboot for about 10 mins. Then it would stop working. Now, only the browsers work after a reboot. I'm not sure what to do and I am kind of a noob with this stuff. Please make any instructions detailed. Thanks

[Q] what version of Adobe flash should I be running?

I am running Vegan 5.1.1 and tried to install 10.2 this afternoon from the market but it said my device wouldn't support it....is that because it's rooted? What do I need to do to fix that?
Here is my reason for asking....I have a fantasy baseball draft tomorrow the draft tool requires the most up to date browser and flash player....it just spins and never loads up in standard browser or skyfire.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
10.2 from the Market should work fine for you. You will only need the hacked version if you use HULU. But sites like Fox Television will work fine with the regular one. You might want to also download AdFree from the market if you want to skip the ads.
that's what I thought but how do I get it since the market wont let me?
running VEGAN 5.1 and flash 10.2 try going to market on computer and set up download.
I feel like a dolt for not getting this....when I get into the market via the web version it recognizes my two devices and says neither is supported? Even via PC, so how would I get it to move it to my device?
I can't even find it at via the market app
I am a dolt....I wasn't running 5.1.1 just 5.1 I have now done the update...lets see what happen now.
update...
I can no longer connect to any wireless....it just endlessly scans?

Have you tried to forget the connection and then reconnect to it?
have you done the "Market Fix" on your tablet. The web market and the market app on your device point to the same pool of apps. If you can't see it on your device's market app then you can't push it to your tablet from the web.
Adobe Flash Player 10.2 should install from your tablets Market app. If you aren't see it, do the Market Fix.
You need to perform market fix. Takes all of 50 seconds. Read op of this thread.

Try the android app section of freewarelovers.com. I had the same problem of my gtablet not showing up in the android market properly, but this did the trick.
Google has some funky rules about what app is available to a device that connects to the market. Your mileage will vary.
Every time I flashed a rom this past week, I was only able to see flash player BEFORE doing the market fix. After doing the market fix, I saw a bunch of other apps, but no flash player.
So check both before and after doing the market fix.
thanks everybody....once I actually performed the 5.1.1 update my problems began to get worse and then much , much better.
I checked into a hotel yesterday with the family that had an unsecured wifi connection and it connected immediately. From there I re-installed my apps INCLUDING 10.2 and other Tegrazone apps I couldn't get before running 5.1.1
Got hom tonight, still can't connect to my secure wifi router but I am running a test taking the security off to see if that solves the local problem

[Q] google search on xoom corrupted

I've tried using the Google search app on my Xoom with 3.2 and it does nothing.....the screen goes dim and that's it......can anyone help?
found the problem......I had installed Dolphin HD and it got confused I guess. I uninstalled dolphin and that fixed it.
Getting rid of Roboform helped me . It may be a problem with some alternate browsers .

[Q] Rooted KF question

I rooted my KF to get Google Play on it and it works great. I noticed the other day the kindle app updated itself. After the update all of the magazine subs I had on the kindle side stopped working. When I go into the kindle launcher any of the magazines I try and read open to the word 'kindle fire' in the middle of the screen and nothing else. Is there a way of fixing this or do I have to re-do the root process?

[Q] Google Play Still thinks My KFT is a KFT after installing KitKat custom ROM

Hi, i'm totally new to rooting and installing alternate ROMs, but i just installed KitKat CM11 and GAPPS KK on my kindle fire HD 7" following RootJunky's excellent tutorial video 'How To Install KitKat CM11 on the Kindle Fire HD 7in' -
Everything appears to be working fine and dandy, but when i download a new app from Google Play or 1 Mobile Market, they send the Amazon Kindle version rather than the android version (i know KFT is android but i don't know how else to phrase this) . So far i have about 80% success rate in these downloaded apps working.
For example, Dolphin Browser, Lastpass, MoliPlayer, Pocket, Amazon Kindle Reader all work, most games do not.
My guess is that this is something to do with the graphics demand of the games.
My rather long winded question is this, is it possible to make my machine not appear to be a KFT as far as these sites are concerned. If so would these apps be more likely to work, or is the problem not an incorrect version of the app but rather some incompatibility between KitKat operating system and Kindle hardware.
Any suggestion / info gratefully received.

[TUT] Crossy Road Crash On Rooted Nexus Devices / Cyanogenmod Issue Resolution.

Hey Guys,
Noticed several people complaining on various forums and on Play Store as well that the recently released version of Crossy Road for Android is crashing repeatedly on rooted Nexus devices as well as rooted devices running Cyanogenmod. The fix is actually quite easy.
1. Boot to TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) recovery.
2. Go to Wipe > Advanced Wipe.
3. Select ONLY "Wipe Dalvik Cache" and slide slider to begin.
4. Back out to main menu and select Reboot > System.
After this you should get a screen that says "Android is upgrading" or something similar with an App count. After this "upgrade" process your beautiful Crossy Road should work exactly as expected!
Horray. Now go get all those precious unlocks ^_^
did not work for me

Sad times I was testing on LG G2 VS980 running CM12 ... sorry it didn't work for you. Back to the drawing board I suppose
Not working :\
Do you have adblockers installed? I noticed Crossy Road would crash for me when my adblock was enabled. I reverted my host file and it started working fine.
.
It works without a Adblocker, I had the same issue.
Edit: If you delete the ads and make the app offline with luckypatcher, it will fully work with adblock.
.
rooted nexus 5 with custom rom, no ad blocker installed. still crashes everytime either directly after the developer logo or after a couple seconds in the game.
/edit:
ok i just ran an app to check if there are any adblocks on my device, thinking the rom itself might have it. it seems to be the case, disabled it, but not crossy road doesnt force close, but crashed with "unfortuntely, crossy road has stopped"
/edit 2: ok, a restart seems to have fixed the issue.
Nexus 5, CM12, Adfree Adblocker and CR from Amazon App-Shop = never had any problems!!!
Play Store version still fc...
How do i make the app offline with luckypatcher?
I could get the Yodo logo then it would crash before the hipster whale would show. I emailed the developer to find out what addresses to whitelist but haven't heard back yet.
Checking the syslog I noticed something going to service.sponsorpay.com.
Removed service.sponsorpay.com from my hosts file and no more crash.
install from Amazon Apps. but that version is not support "google play games"
Ended up using xprivacy and disabled internet permission and no crashes so far. On moto x 2013.
Thanks for that
