[Q] Rooted KF question - General Questions and Answers

I rooted my KF to get Google Play on it and it works great. I noticed the other day the kindle app updated itself. After the update all of the magazine subs I had on the kindle side stopped working. When I go into the kindle launcher any of the magazines I try and read open to the word 'kindle fire' in the middle of the screen and nothing else. Is there a way of fixing this or do I have to re-do the root process?

can't launch Netflix app, takes me straight to Google Play Store

I have a brand new Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.
When I touch the Netflix app icon(either on the home screen or apps menu),
it just takes me straight to the Google Play Store. The only option there
is "OPEN" and if I touch that, it takes me to the same page over and over.
Since the Netflix app came pre-installed with the tablet, I can't uninstall/
reinstall it....
All other apps(either pre-installed or downloaded) work just fine.
Any ideas on why it's doing that?
Thanks for your help!
You could root it..
Did you clear its data?
Did you uninstall updates for Netflix?
Go to applications in settings and click on the Netflix application. Click uninstall updates and clear data. Try again.
I as well just got my self a galaxy tab2 and applied the update that was available last night. Playing more with the tab today i am having the exact same problem with Netflix. When opening netflix it goes to the play store instead of the opening the app. Like the OP since this is a pre-installed app we cant uninstall and there is no update available. Does anyone have a solution to this, its my wife's tab and she doesn't want me to mess with it but I'm already considering doing that. (also will help with de-bloating it)

Click to collapse
I solved this by returning to factory default. (which wiped everything and
started from scratch) After that, Netflix works perfectly!
Back up everything before doing a factory reset, of course.

[Q] Moving app to K Fire HD Problem - Halp!

Hey guys I've been banging my head on the wall the past few hours trying to figure this out. I'm trying to move an app I bought on my phone to my kindle fire. Most people know the kfire doesn't support the play store so I'm trying another method of getting it there.
I tried backing it up with a normal file manager but its locked, most likely because its a paid app. I read something about apps being stores in /data/app but I don't see the apk for the program I'm looking for in there. Many other I have are but not this particular app.
Any ideas? My phones rooted btw.
Thanks.
Any ideas?

[Q] Kindle Fire HD 7 Play Store Problem

Hey guys, I have a kindle fire hd 7" with the new unofficial CyanogenMod 11 Android 4.4 ROM. One problem I noticed was that the google play store is not downloading apps. It is stuck at saying downloading but never actually starts. I have to sideload everything. Also, both dolphin browser and the stock android browser lose connection sometimes and don't work. I have deleted the hosts file but that is only temporary. I have freedom running if that changes anything and the wifi connection status is the top right corner of the screen doesn't have the up and down pointers during some times. It used to work after a reboot for about 10 mins. Then it would stop working. Now, only the browsers work after a reboot. I'm not sure what to do and I am kind of a noob with this stuff. Please make any instructions detailed. Thanks

[Resolved] Rooted Kindle Fire Version 10.5.1 - Google Play Crashes When Downloading any App

Ok, so I have a Gen 2 rooted Kindle Fire. I have the Google Play Store installed and working fine.
I have my Google account signed in, and everything seems to be working fine. But as soon as I download an app or whatnot it crashes immediately, saying "Google Play Store has stopped"
I am running the newest version (7.1.16) and I'm pretty sure it has all the necessary permissions.
I don't know what is wrong here but any insight on what is happening or how to fix it is greatly appreciated.:good:

[Q] Sony S Tablet. Google Play

Hello everyone, first time posting here. I apologize is it's not the correct place or if it is a complete waste of time.
I have a couple of questions about the Sony S Tablet. For the past 5 days I have been trying to figure out why I keep getting a "no connection" error every time I tried to install an app from the play store. I had try everything that i could possibly find to fix this problem to no success. I did not have root explorer because I guess i did a factory reset at some point. I have ICS on the tablet which was rooted a long time ago.
Anyways, I tried everything under the sun that I could find and ended up removing the root privilege ( didn't even know i could do that). then after I used the kingoroot PC version to root again. I removed the hosts file under /system/etc and still did not fix my problem. Also managed to uninstall the play store app
Anyways, I am pretty much giving up hope for anything else., however I kind of want to use the tablet just to watch streaming like HULU and NETFLIX. I can use netflix but i can't not get hulu to work whatsoever. It seems that the problem that plagues this app is the same that I had when trying to install something from the the play store.
Is there any hulu APKs around that I could still use as well as being able to re-install the play store? I'm completely out of ideas and by now just want to be able to use netflix and hulu is nothing more.
Any help from anyone? comment or suggestions are very appreciated.
