[Q] Need Answers please.. - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I currently have a Xperia Z and I am shocked on how much it lags here and there even with a custom ROM on it, not really into the fact it's waterproof.
I just want something that is fast, decent build quality, good enough camera and has no lag when browsing and playing games like sonic dash
and not expensive
Could the Moto G be a great alternative for what I want?
Sonic dash play smoothly?
apps open fast?
Build quality?
Battery life?

I did use search. But until there is a person that wrote about or covered EVERYTHING I wanted to know, then I will understand why you just said that (Y)
I beleive this is the only place where there is a possibility that my question would be answered.
And assuming I didn't search is pretty silly
Although if there is a paragraph or review that answers everything, do share!
Thanks!

Dude, there is:
# What about Battery Life Topic
# And what about Moto G Review Central
# Uhm somehow found more Moto G Gaming Topic
# I got even more muahahaha Moto G Benchmarks
You searched? Common dude, you lie as much as evil would!
Edit: I'm such a nice guy, I don't just troll I even give you the links so you find these well hidden topic
PS; took me 2 minutes. You're just lazy
PS2; And NO, we will not summarize these topics for you!

Well, about Your questions, there is no simple answer, as it's a matter of Your needs. Alternative - who knows? Camera - I don't take pictures, so Ok for me. Sonic - don't know hat it is. Apps speed & build quality & battery life - its a matter of experience with other phones, OK for me.
So Moto G is so far the best phone for me. I also own Xperia Z1, which I have used couple times only as I prefer Moto G. And as Moto G doesn't cost much, You can buy it just for test & fun. You won't regret. Trust me.

Sony Xperia Z ultra VS a new galaxy mega ???

Ok I had a look at the sony z ultra today the 6.4" screen one and it looked amazing, the picture whilst watching a movie was better than my tv!
However I have a Samsung galaxy note, im not getting the note 3 as its to small, I prefer samsungs BUT the current galaxy mega 6.3" specs arnt that good compared to the sony.
I have heard that they should be bringing out a galaxy mega with S4 specs or something like that so my questions are -
Does anyone know if they are actually bringing a better mega out?
and
Anyone got any personal reviews on the Z ultra? looked online at reviews but would rather ask someone who has one
Im in the UK so needs to be a UK phone
Thanks
Yes, I am using the Xperia Z Ultra and it is phenomenal
I don't see why anyone would get a Galaxy Mega over this.

really can I ask you a few questions please, I WONT be getting the current mega but like I said I spoke to a Samsung rep she mentioned a newer one may be coming out this year with better specs so I am tempted to wait for that if its true?
So yeh -
How long have you had it, just as if you have installed all your stuff do you ever find it running slow or laggy at all?
Whats the battery like on it, will it last a day if you use it for the odd texts and phone calls etc?
Do you ever find applications/games that are unable to play as it may not support the phone at all?
Think that's it for now ill let you know if I have any more.
Could you also let me know if there are any problems or any good things you can share at all with it please?
Thanks
Battery easily lasts a day. Would require recharge at night though. No, this thing doesn't slow down at all. It does have the faste. processor available. And 2 gb of ram is plenty enough to multitask without the any app foreclosing.

[Q] Should I keep my HTC One X or move to the Moto G?

I've posted this on Reddit, but I want to know the opinion of the new Moto G community.
Here goes:
I have my very loved HTC One X (International) with me at the moment. I've been happy with it after a year and a half.
My phone has the HOX wifi fault. And the battery life barely gives me 2-3 hours screen on time. I've tried underclocking, flashed custom roms, kernels, etc. But the battery still doesn't last me within the day. Not even until noon.
But I've been reading pretty good stuff about the Moto G and it's hardcore battery life.
I know that somehow I'm downgrading. I'll miss the slightly larger screen though. Also, I don't care about the camera, because I have my Canon EOS M with me which I can copy pictures to the phone via USB OTG.
Would it be worth it if I sell my HOX and get that one? Or do you have a phone to recommend me? I'm planning to get a Pebble smartwatch too if ever.
P.S. I'll be able to sell my hox for like $220-ish here in the Philippines. My cousin is in the US at the moment for the holiday season. So I have my way to get that phone.

Get a Moto G, it's really good.
Before I bought the Moto g I had the opportunity to buy a used One X. Same price I thought "get the newer Google Device".. Now having the moto g I am very happy with that! Get the Moto g.
The only thing that isn't good is the cam..

Few day's after getting Moto G, I got as gift Sony Xperia Z1, and as I prefer Moto G, the Z1 is still in box and I think I will not use it (too big, too heavy etc) at all, but as it's a gift, I also can't sell it.
If you cant sell it, give it as a gift to me, i will sell it and give you 40% of the price
Thanks for the tips! I'll be selling my HOX soon. Hopefully before Christmas.
Only phone I recommend over the moto g is the nexus 5

Hi. The moto g is the way to go so far the battery experience is much better than the nexus 4 the phone I used have and the nexus 4 is a beauty. 50 gigas in Google drive and I have run all the apps that I did in my nexus excepting a couple like gravity box and touch control (gravity box works OK in 4.3 but it doesn't in 4.4.2) the others work flawlessly. I have no experience with pebble but I have a sony smartwatch 2 and it works nicely with the moto g. So my advice based on my experience get the moto g. Besides those kind guys who are developing are working hard to allows to have those tweaks we love.

sorry to bring up an old thread but to the op
How are you finding the Moto G in relation to the one X?
My one x has the wifi fault and a horrid battery life and the black screen of death and so I definately need a new device until upgrade time
Would you recommend a Moto G?
Thanks

I also have the wifi fault with my HOX, and battery life was very terrible. I had to do lots of tweaks that compromises the performance of the phone to get more juice, but still has bad battery life.
I'm glad that I was able to sell my HOX for $220+ here in the Philippines, and got myself the Moto G plus a shell that my cousin will be bringing home from the US. Can't wait to get it!
I wasn't able to buy me a Pebble though. The $89 sale at Best Buy was done. Although They announced the Pebble Steel which IMO looks great and I'll try to save for that instead.
I hope I didn't make a bad choice. Battery life is really on my priority list, that's why I didn't try to save up for the Nexus 5.
I really really can't wait!

I got the Moto G after my One X stopped working. My research suggested that the One X, Nexus 4 and the Moto G were quite similar. In practise, it was similar to the One X, the differences that I've noticed:
The screen size is slightly smaller but not by much. You have quite large bezzels at the top and bottom - there is less screen space because there are no hardware buttons at the bottom as there were on the One X which I find annoying.
It seems to be a bit slower than the One X. Transitioning between apps can be a bit delayed at times.
The camera is significantly worse, but I prefer the camera app.
Battery life may be a bit better (I'm not sure to be honest). However, this may be because I am comparing to a one+ year old phone, and I had a problem with the wifi draining battery (but only with a particular router).
I also switched to CyanogenMod eventually, so the comparison may be slightly inaccurate.
For this price (and anything significantly higher), I would definitely recommend the phone.

[Q] Need help picking a device!

Hey guys!
Now Im will be upgrading to a new device but not sure which one to go for. Im thinking of picking the Moto G hence its cheap price and awesome display. I know it has cortex A7 processors but that will be fine. Now the other device is a Galaxy S2. The S2 is one superior device. Great display, awesome GPU (Mali 400) and a exceptional camera. So what do you think? Moto G or S2? Tell me below!

Im sure the N7 is great. Heard a lot of good things but theres no need to get the BEST! There are some good devices that do the same things as the N7 but just cheaper. Sure you won't have 1080p displays but come on 720p is already good enough for phones, unless you are reading.

Agreed. Moto G it is.

Probably the best phone there is right now

can't find any weaknesses ti be honest for this phone , why the hell did it go so unnoticed in the world ?
G Pro 2 doesn't have any problems. Only LG can make fantastic but unpopular devices.

the original G Pro got attention but with the release of G3, not much marketing for G Pro 2.
My colleagues moved to the G3 and they said it's worse than the G2. Laggy and battery life is poor. Wireless charging so-so.
If the GP2 had more attention, there would be a lot more after market accessories available too. Similarly, more custom roms and other dev work.

Thinking of buying this phone

Is it worth it? I currently have a Moto X... but i hear there are a lot of problems with these phones. is it true?
This phone is really good, as you said some users has random issues, but if you didn't get those this is the best phone.
But if you already have moto 2014, why you want to change?

I do not think you would be making a mistake buying the OPO. The possibly only issues you might have are regarding service and a yellow stripe near the bottom but I have read that there are easy work-abouts for that. The features, feel, OS, build quality, performance are all superb.I have had a Samsung S2, S4 and Moto G (2013) and I am thrilled to have this. Also the battery life is superb - now down to 10% with over 46 hours since last charge and screen time of 5h 15m, 45 minutes voice calls and nearly 19 hrs Wifi on.
You should get the OPO, hands down. Most of the issues people have had with the device aren't even relevent anymore, as they have been fixed in software updates months ago. And I'm pretty sure that stuff like the yellow line doesn't even appear in the hardware anymore, and was only apparent in the first couple months. So you can safely ignore those complaints.
If you're comparing the Moto X and the OPO, be aware that the OPO actually has slightly superior specs. But, you know, that's not the best thing about this phone.
The OPO's XDA development scene is, in my opinion, the best thing about this device. Soooo many important developers have adopted the OPO as their next device, like FranciscoFranco and AK. You will see a lot of pleasantly suprised people in the forums, saying things like, "I remember you from the Nexus 4!" and, ”Yay, xxxx is here!”. No other recent device has the same support. Hell, the Moto X forums are a barren wasteland.
If you get an OPO, be prepared to have a lot of fun on the XDA forums. I know I am.
It is worth it. I would buy again.

I have Moto X 2014 and I just purchased the Oneplus for one simple reason... Moto X camera is total garbage. I mean it's bad. So I am returning my Moto and I'll try this.
