Hi All,
I think I may have bricked my htc sensation, I tried to install JellyBean 4.3 rom as described here. techbeasts.com/2013/11/08/how-to-install-android-4-3-jelly-bean-on-htc-sensation-sensation-xe
Basically, I copied all the files into the sdcard then run fastboot flash boot boot.img after that when did fastboot reboot the bootloader got stuck in loading and when I try to connect using adb i get the device offline message.
I believe with 4.2 or above you have to accept RSA warning or sometime in order to connect using adb tool but I cannot do that as it's stuck on bootloader.
Looks like I've managed to brick the phone as I don't see any way out? just want to confirm that's the case.
This is my first post, please be gentle
I'm now getting this message : error: device unauthorized. Please check the confirmation dialog on your device.
Hi;
There's no adb command while in fasboot mode. Either adb, or fasboot.
When you entered the command to flash the kernel, was it successful? Did it not give any error messages
What iss your firmware? Install the latest official ICS RUU first, then install a recovery, go into recovery and wipe partitions: data, system, and cache. Afterwards, without rebooting, install the 4.3 ROM you want (which I do not suggest) then go back into fastboot mode and flash the 4.3 ROM's kernel. (flash boot boot.img)
Where do you get the last message?
*By the way, for this kind of actions, let XDA be your first consideration to go, I recommend.*

I have a problem with my phone? When I try to reboot it just stays at the white HTC screen. If I wait till the battery is completely drained and plug the power in, it boots perfectly.
Did I do something wrong with my setup?
This is how I rooted and unlocked my bootloader yesterday: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=15251
bump, this is quite frustrating
I think I didn't do this:
But now my phone is stuck on white screen and I don't know how to boot into recovery. Do i have to wait till the battery is completely drained?
-edit-
Thanks guys, problem resolved by pulling battery out during the 3 sec window after rebooting with volume up/down button and booting into recovery afterwards.
Then used ''fastboot flash boot boot.img'' command.

Your avatar is a splitting image of you currently.
Don't bump a thread on the hour.....
So what you are trying to say is you never followed your OWN guide correctly?
Now I assume you did everything else and it is just the boot img problem.
So can you give some details on what it said when you tried to flash the boot?
-You extracted the img, placed it with your fastboot.exe and said fastboot flash boot boot.img
You can try the vol up and down and power to get your phone to reboot.

I flashed the boot.img in fastboot with the ''fastboot flash boot boot.img '' command while it should've been ''fastboot flash boot $pathToBootIMG\boot.img ''. My guide was wrong at that step.
That's the reason why I think the phone won't boot the rom, because it doesn't know where ''boot.img'' is.
That's why rebooting with vol up,down and power button won't do a thing. It just reboots, stays at the white htc screen..
I know how to resolve the problem, only I can't get into recovery so that I can fix it!
Reboot using the three buttons. When it is off, pull the battery out (it is a short window so be ready). Then wait a while, put it back in and hold volume down and press the power button.

You need to boot your phone into fastboot to flash the boot.img, keep searching on how to flash the boot.img, it is here, same as flashing recovery though.
Put the boot.img of your custom ROM (extract it from zip file) in the same folder where your adb tools are.
Then repeat that flashing step

Thank you i'm in recovery now. How should I flash boot.img?
Using the command ''fastboot flash boot $pathToBootIMG\boot.img '' i thought it would work gives me ''error: cannot load '$pathToBootIMG\boot.img'''

Why pull the battery? That is a completely unnecessary risk. Just reboot using the three buttons, wait till the screen goes blank, then wait for the lights at the bottom to go out, then immediately press volume down and power - it will go straight into the bootloader.
If you pull the battery just a fraction of a second too late you could get a current surge just as it is turning back on and that is a particularly dangerous time to pull the battery in my opinion.

For a very simple reason: people will see the instruction to pull the battery and they will pull the battery. A proportion of them will fry their eMMC chips as a result.
The post may be dead to you, but it still comes up on searches and people still read it. I've already seen it quoted in other threads.

hi all
I have strange problem
I can't access bootloader I tried these ways:
A- vol down + power = nothing just boot normally
B- in fast boot usb: fastboot reboot-bootloader = nothing still in fastboot
C- in extended power menu : restart - bootloader = fastboot
excuse my poor english
please any help
dude you are in bootloader ..when connected to pc ..it will go to fastboot usb (infact fastboot is part of bootloader)
1.you need to remove battery ,then reinsert it then do volume down + power ..or uncheck the fastboot in settings->power then volume down + power
2.obvious ..as long as connected to pc ..it will be in fastboot
3.when connected to pc ..it happens
This is not my first time to install radio
I didn't ask before reading and searching
Still waiting help
Fastboot is/is part of the bootloader. From fastboot you have the 'Bootloader' option, which will load the HBOOT and thus scan for a PG58IMG.* on your SDcard.
/thread.
The funny thing is when I push vol down it scrolls up
When I push power nothing happen
In other word when I highlite bootloader then push power to choose nothing happen

if it goes upto beats audio means ..you can probably use adb ..try this
NOTE:assumed you have adb/fastboot setup
first type
adb wait-for-device
then when you got control on the prompt (the blinking underscore) ..it means the device is identified
then immediately type this
adb reboot bootloader (or directly to recovery using "adb reboot recovery" )
this should take you to bootloader
hi,
i got adb not recognized as internal or external command. i hear the usb sound when i plug the phone to the computer. i attached a printscreen. Please have a look.

You can't. Either your power button needs to be working or you phone needs to actually boot up to send it into recovery
i can get the phone to boot...i just cant get into recovery
i can get to the bootloader screen i just cant select..recovery
What I meant by boot was to actually boot up the os. Not just make it to the bootloader.
so basically im ****ed??
Unless you get the power button to work you are stuck.
bump bump...anyone got any ideas!?!?!
adb reboot recovery ? Won't that work ?
Once you get into recovery you can use the bottom four buttons to navigate through recovery. If I am not mistaken Menu to scroll up, Home button to scroll down, Search to select and Back to go to the previous menu.
Anyways you can always flash from command line using fastboot.
When your power button is broke you can't scroll and select anything in fastboot. It freezes.
You can't adb reboot recovery if the phone doesn't boot up the os. Can't use any fastboot commands either cause its stuck.
He is screwed. Getting power button to work/unstick whatever you want to call it is only way.

If I am not mistaken he can boot into OS, He can go to bootloader but he just can't select Recovery because of the broken power button.
So using adb and fastboot shouldn't be a problem at all. As far CW recovery is concerned you can navigate without using power button as well

1. FIRST of all, make sure that Fast Boot is off (Settings --> Power --> Fast Boot (uncheck).
2. Power off the unit.
3. While holding the volume button DOWN, press the power button. If you get the splash screen, you'll have to power off again and try again.
4. Hold both buttons for a second or two until you feel the vibration, then release the volume down button, the bootloader screen will come up.
5. Select hboot (if not already selected). Use volume button to scroll down to recovery. Press power. You will then see the splash screen (with red lettering unless you flashed an alternate hboot) and the unit will boot to recovery.
Do yourself a favor and either figure out a way to get the Advanced Power dialogue into your ROM, or download Quickboot which will do the same thing.
Oh Jebus! None of the instructions I found mentioned turning off Fast Boot. I was sitting here last night for like 10 minutes trying to get into fastboot before I was like, "adb reboot fastboot"
