you don't boot into usb debuging mode. You enable it from settings>developer Options.
and you need to install adb drivers
So I would just flash CWM while the phone is switched on with debugging enabled in developer settings, sorry for the noobish questions, I have not messed with a Sony before,

well depends on the requirements of the recovery installer. Make sure that usb debugging works earlier.

Hi,
No.
Keep it on.
Make sure you are not using usb 3.0 slots or hubs.
Try different slots (front and back)
Have you got ADB installed?

Hi,
I got a coolpad 7620L and wanted to connect adb.
When I click USB debugging on the developers options, I got "Need to produce more than 5 minutes to open the ADB" dialogbox.
Does anybody know what this means? How can I enable USB debugging?
Thanks

Hello,
I broke my screen and I want to use the androidscreencast in order to recover some data on my Samsung GT-I9195.
I installed ADB version 1.4.2.
When I plug my phone on my computer (win7), the phone is recognized and I can browse its content.
But the command adb devices returns nothing:
"List of devices attached:
"
Edit: I first tried to recover my phone with Kies but the phone is not recognized.
Can somebody help me?
Thanks in advance.

Before I start suggesting soloutions/ideas was USB Debugging enabled through developer options before the screen smashed as if not there's not much you can do via ADB.

Unfortunately, debugging mode is not activated.
Is the activation of debugging mode mandatory for connecting a mobile thanks to adb?

I'm afraid that debugging mode is necessary for an adb connection to the device.

Using SP flash tool I noticed that the phone is usually to be switched off. Does USB debugging come into play here? Does USB debugging affect anything anyway when the phone is switched off? Would SP flash tool work if USB debugging was turned off before shutting down the phone?
(sorry for any mistakes i am a n00b here)

Hello,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
I think SP FlashTool works without USB Debugging enabled.
