I have problems installing CyanogenMod on my HTC One S. When I install it, it gets stuck to boot loop. I was able to recover stock rom using backup I made. I have tried installing twice.
What I have been able to do:
- Unlock bootloader via HTCDev
- Install ClockworkMod
How I try to install CM:
1. I copy zip downloaded from here to phone: download.cyanogenmod.org/get/jenkins/50987/cm-10.2.0-ville.zip
2. I shutdown my phone by long pressing power button.
3. I boot to bootloader by pressing volume down and power.
4. I connect the USB cable (It doesn't boot to recovery otherwise, I don't know why. If I don't connect USB cable it instead boots to black screen.)
5. I select recovery and phone boots to ClockworkMod
6. I select wipe data/factory reset
7. I select install from zip and select the CyanogenMod zip
8. Phone says Installing update... and succeeds in it
9. I select reboot system now
10. Phone is now stuck in boot loop
What do I do wrong?
You are s-on right? You need to flash boot.img from cm-10.2 zip. Just extract the boot.img and flash it via fastboot

I'm having the same problem on the C2 variant, except I'm stuck on boot animation. I did flash the boot image found in the zip file.
Anyone having the same problem?

Yes I have S-ON. If I flash boot.img via fast boot will I be able to restore stock ROM if I want to? How is that done? Do I flash boot.img from my backup via fast boot?

I'm not sure %100 if you wil be able to restore stock rom since i didn't try with s-on, but if you have boot.img in that backup, you might need to flash it after restoring process and you should be fine

Does TWRP recovery for the One S (S4) T-Mo require me to flash a seperate boot.img when I flash a rom, say Trickdroid v8.0? I want to flash either CM10 or Trickdroid but I'm not sure if TWRP will automatically access the boot.img in the ROM.zip. Any help would be greatly appreciated:fingers-crossed:
try just flashing the .zip and if it doesn't work then boot back into recovery and wipe then boot into bootloader -> fastboot, extract the files from the .zip on your computer, then flash the boot.img manually through fastboot, then boot into recovery and install the .zip. trial and error. it's how we learn
p.s. i know that cwm recovery automatically flashes the boot.img but twrp might not
I´am dificults in install this rom --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2105863
Please help me , i´m afraid do anything wrong.
Its not difficult to do its as simple as:
Download rom and boot img script
Place Rom on phone storage
Boot into recovery
Back-up current in case something goes wrong
Factory reset in recovery
Then wipe system
Then wipe caches
Find the Rom on sdcard
Flash it install without wipe ( install with wipe will give you problems)
Reboot into bootloader put phone into fastboot mode, by now you should have phone connected to pc and it should display fastboot mode on bootloader screen
Run boot img flash script from your pc (don't place boot img script on the phone, it flashes the boot img for you from computer by running commands) then reboot back into recovery and wipe caches once more then reboot and enjoy... that's it.
Not hard just follow instructions and you should be good to go and if you run into any problems just let us know and we'll help you fix it

Yes you can use Hasoon's AIO kit to flash the boot img, The flash script does the same thing using cmd prompt windows
once you start to flash the rom in your recovery Aroma installer (built in) will start and guide you through the whole process
Good luck

have you flashed the boot img?
Don't use the new TWRP but use 2.3.3.3 or other "stable" releases to flash!
By chance do you have a s3 variant if so then there may be the problem, if not then try an older stable release of a recovery to flash it

When you double click that script, you have to be on your bootloader screen in fastboot USB mode.

Have you flashed boot.img from that rom?
Probably that's the problem ,if you're htc dev unlocked than you'r S-ON and you need to flash the boot image .Unzip the rom you have flashed and find the boot.img and flash it .
oh thats my problem, I have a habit from desire, only copy and install ROM. Thanks
Okay so I tried to flash cyanogenmod 11 for the first time on this moto G (US). It bootlooped and I tired to reflash it again and it did the same. There was no way of returning to stock because I had not made a backup. So I tried to flash stock in the bootloader and that didn't work. I went into the recovery and it said 'cant mount /sdcard. So go back into the bootloader and format the sdcard and that doesn't work (which I returned to the recovery to see it not working). I go back and flash twrp thinking that recovery would have something to help me flash a new rom and now I don't even have a working recovery. It takes me straight back to the bootloader and every time I flash a recovery it says Mismatched partition size (recovery) and I am unable to boot into it.
I have no clue on what to do at this point and I need help.
also it says invalid "boot image header!" in red letters

Twrp_MotoG_signed_010814_163615.zip
Download vocoderisms TWRP build, extract "recovery.img" from it.
After you have kitkat installed and working:
Option 1, use TWRP without install:
Boot to bootloader (adb reboot bootloader), boot twrp (fastboot boot recovery.img) and install rom from there.
Option 2, install TWRP (have not tested):
Upload twrp zip to phone (adb push Twrp_MotoG_signed_010814_163615.zip /sdcard/), boot to bootloader (adb reboot bootloader), boot twrp (fastboot boot recovery.img), install Twrp_MotoG_signed_010814_163615.zip.

You do know flashing stock again removes root, so it has to be rerooted again ?

Can't boot into recovery mode, maybe something went wrong while updating TWRP to 3.0.2 but can boot into fastboot.
also had backup of previous rom but since i can't boot into TWRP now so can't restore it. Earlier on TWRP 2.8.6 i was getting zip file execution error while restoring/installing new ROM.
So for now i have only access to fastboot mode, how to proceed futher?

You have 2 options you can flash the stock rom and recovery via fastboot here is a guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-return-opo-to-100-stock-t2826541 (Just skip step 4 don't relock the bootloader specially if you want to install TWRP) Make sure you download the correct file there is a 64gb and a 16gb listed in this guide or you can download the stock file straight from cynogen OS here https://cyngn.com/support
Or you can reinstall TWRP via fastboot by downloading TWRP here https://dl.twrp.me/bacon/ and install your backup if its still there. If its not there you can either download and install any custom rom you want or if you want the stock rom go with option 1 above and then re-install twrp. (Always remeber after installing TWRP don't fully boot into the system or you will loose TWRP, boot straight to recovery once its done flashing TWRP by holding the power button and volume down. )
