[Q] [Feature] muting other users on tablets - Omni Features Development

Hello all,
i got couple requests which i think someone else would like also.
First: so i got tablet which is used by my wife also(we both got own users), its driving me crazy when the tablet is like "peep, peep, peep" when im using it on my own user, but wife got facebook conversation going on with friend on computer.
So is it anyway possible to FORCE mute on other users while someone is using the device? IE. if i use the device my wifes "useraccount" is muted, even if he had sounds on when he used device.
Second: could it be possible to share that "dot lockscreen" among all users, so by drawing different "shape" device automatically opens rigth user, im always trying to open the device when some other user is "selected".

[Request] Chrome to phone-like app for finding phone

Hi guys!
I know there is a way to create a Chrome extension which, when clicked, launches an app on the phone that vibrates the phone and plays a sound file at the loudest volume, so I can find it. Like Chrome to phone but with a different purpose.
This would be a great app for those times when you need to go but just can't find your phone even though you know it is somewhere in the home. With just the press of a button you could hear (or feel, if it's very close to you) where it is! No need to use another phone to call yours or run around the apartment getting all tired and angry!
Personally I would have used it like eight times since I came up with the idea, but I don't know Android programming or HTML (for the extension) so I can't create it myself.
where's my droid
and a couple of other apps already do this. They take a sms message and crank up the volume.

That's great for some people (with unlimited SMS), but unfortunately I haven't got unlimited SMS (nor do I always have access to a second phone. If I did though I would probably call my phone instead as this request is for finding the phone when you know it is somewhere near but don't have the patience to run around and search for it)
The app I want doesn't use SMS messages for launching the app but the Cloud-to-device service introduced with Android 2.2 and at the moment only available to a small but growing number of devices.
I use the Chrome to phone app & ext (code dot google dot com/p/chrometophone) on my Nexus and although it doesn't work every time when it does work it feels like magic!
I thought it would feel as much if not even more like magic if you could use this new service to find your phone with ease. I don't need it to have all the (for some) great features like showing where the phone is on a Google map or wiping important data if it's lost, I've got other apps for that.
I want this app to be as simple as it possibly can be, again like Chrome to phone:
Setting up: Download, Register phone, Be logged into Google account, done!
Use: Be logged into Google account, click extension button, wait a sec, phone rings, done!
Now does anyone here know how to create this app or where to request it to increase the chances of it getting past the idea stage and into something usable? It would surely make my day!

[Q] My last plea for help...

Hi guys!
I have been following this forum for quite some time now and so far I have not found a problem that did not had an answer here (unfortunately I started reading it after I made a huge mistake). But let me explain the problem from the beginning. A more than a year ago, my service provider offered to change my HTC HD phone for a brand new HTC HD7, free of charge. So, an idiot me went for it. I was to naive to think that new MS operating system is gonna be more advanced with features. Instead of a phone that you can customize according to your needs I got a peace of junk that cant even play mp3 as a ring tone... And I cant sell it. If only I was smart enough to read the review on it before I said yes...
In fact this OS was so bad for me that I put it back in the box, bought two android phones (HTC Desire and Xperia X10) and was finally able to work on something that is worth calling a smart phone... I was never hopping that MS will be smart enough to fix this trash, but I waited to see if those smarter then me will be able to tune it in a way that it can at least be semi-usable. And here I am 14 months later and this garbage is still in the box. I updated it to mango, it looks a little bit better, but still many of the setup functions that I need are missing. I would leave it for another 14 months in a box but I am in a situation that I really need an extra phone.
So, finally, here is my question (and sorry for the long intro, I just needed to say how bad this wp7 crap looks to me). Is it possible to tweak it in some way NOT to auto display a new SMS on a locked screen. Can you set it up just to give you a notification of the new sms, without the actual message on the screen. I dont wont to leave my phone on the office desk and everybody in the room to be able to read the content when I am not there. Only an idiot can leave this without an option to disable it...
If anybody knows some sort of solution, please help. I even tried searching the market for sms applications (like Go SMS in android which lets you customize all sort of sms notifications), but of course, there is nothing out there. If I had the power, I would punish those MS developers who came up with this idiotic OS to be forced to use their own products until the end of time...

Even though I love my Trophy I'll have to agree with you, I miss my Touch Pro 2 with Windows Mobile on it; on Windows Mobile if you wanted to do something on it, it did it for you Vs. Windows Phone . I have never had issues with ringtones, I have always been able to do that. As far as SMS notifications not showing up on the lock screen, there should be a registry tweak just search for it here.

I need some smartphonesavy help! How to know if my bf has hidden locks or if those exsist

I am trying to figure out if my boyfriend is tunneling his messages or Facebook chat somehow... I'm not very techsavy. Does this kind of thing actually exist for a regular lg phone? Okay so It looks like whenever he unlocks his phone he will sometimes use two different codes like he has one phone two users. One he shows me without all his real incoming messages. And then his storage is always full on his phone but he hardly has any music or pics. He has some casino apps. One I found in his list said in the default app casino.imitation.app is that a vault app or what?
Yes it is possible. I don't know how lg has it implemented or what phone he is using, but there are multiple users in android that you can switch. If lg doesn't have that feature it could be done with a system modification. Since this a real life trust problem I suggest that you talk to somebody that can help, somebody like a psychologist.

Stop. Why not just talk to him, and if the trust is an issue, then your relationship is also....

New phone with custom rom, keep getting old texts coming back as new texts, how do I make this stop?

I recently got a Pixel 4a 5g and originally tried GrapheneOS and now I'm on Calyx. The issue I have is the stock texting app on either OS does not support group texting which I use a lot with my family. So I had to find a 3rd party app, found QKSMS which supports group texting.
However I don't know if this is an OS or app issue, but at random, I will get old texts back. It will basically be as if it's a new text, but it's an old conversation that just replays itself. It's super annoying and also confusing because sometimes at first I think it's a real text I just got.
Is there a way to make this stop? I'm also open to suggestions on an alternate app but it needs to be something that's in the F droid store, since I don't really want to put Google play on here as it kind of defeats the purpose of having a privacy oriented phone if I start putting apps that spy on me.
I also want to stick with SMS/MMS and not signal etc, because not everybody uses all the same chat app, but SMS is just universal. Everyone I know uses it.
Anyone else ever run into this and found a fix?
Just bumping, hoping someone has a pointer for how I can troubleshoot this?
