Debrand HTC Desire S

Just wondering if anyone had managed to debrand a Desire S.
Have made a goldcard and ran the RRU however I get a bootloader error.
Not really interested in rooting or installing custom ROMs just want rid of the Vodafone crappy.

Waht kind of crap?
Bootanimation/splash is hard to remove.
To delete apps from Vodafon or apps from htc (amazonmp3, navi preinstalled) you have to root - after rooting they are "normal" apps to uninstall.
root:
1) s-off your phone (should have be done with your gaoldcard)
2) search for onclickroot here on xda
done

Hmm.. is your desire s s-off? If yes then just flash the original HTC ROM Ruu! Just look it up in this forum! For me it worked well! Even my T-Mobile splashscreen disappeared!

forgive my complete ignorance here however what is a goldcard ? I have just got a new desire s from O2 and its branded & locked. Want to remove the branding as well as unlock it ideally.
Any suggestions?

Out of curiosity what is your SKU and P/N on the box as i purchased an O2 desire s and it came with generic firmware and unlocked. Although i think i got lucky.

i got mine unlocked for free from o2...just go through their site and chat to an advisor..ask them you want your phone unlocked...worked for me

I didnt say it was S-OFF i said it was unlocked, meaning Sim-Free lol...
I wish it was S-OFF!!!

When is sum1 gonna either find a way to s-off desire s so that i can try the roms or maybe root it with s-on cos still you can flash without a problem...

Just install the ics ruu off the hec dev website. That will remove the branding.

But unfortunately HTCDEV ICS for desire S has bugs... like link clicks on SMS and other stuff, from what i have read.
It is not possible just to install a WWE rru like "RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.9_Radio_20.4801.30. 0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_234765_signed" with the a goldcard inserted on the phone? If what it is needed is just to unbrand the phone, without having root or other stuff... or is it need to Hboot S-OFF unlock from HTCDEV? please advise.

Edit: from fastboot i got CId = VODAPD18 which it means Vodafone Portugal. Is it possible to run above RRU + goldcard with no / little risk of bricking ?

[Q] Guide to DOWNGRADING from Android 4.0.3 to 2.3.4 for Sensation

Could anyone help me by giving me few steps towards doing this? Once I complete is successfully I will edit this and post a full, detailed guided for anyone else looking to do the same thing.
What I have:
-HTC Sensation which has the latest Android update (never rooted, never changed from anything default)

Well it is very simple Imo... You need to get a gingerbread ruu and run it in windows nothing else... That should be enough

You need to double click on the RUU and follow what the program indicates

JuopunutBear to S-OFF. Flash GB RUU

All you have to do is run the RUU. Make sure your PC has the appropriate drivers for your device and HTC Sync. I had to restore a few times using the stock 1.73.401.4 RUU for my Sensation XE, and that is all that I had installed. I can verify that root is not needed in my experience although I did have S-Off.

Don't need HTC Sync installed. Just need the drivers. Not sure if RUU comes with said drivers. Need to be S-OFF to downgrade hboot. ICS hboot is NOT compatible with GB (1.23 is, but that's not what's included with the latest RUUs).
Without S-OFF, you CANNOT RUU back to GB.
If it were so simple as flashing GB RUU, we wouldn't need JuopunutBear

downgrade is very complicated.
root the current ICS and install recovery
Juopunubear S-OFF (require htcdev unlock and root)
downgrade firmware to 1.17
flash GB rom or run GB RUU

That pretty much sums it up! Make a guide with those steps and links to all the resources and you'll be a hero...

Guys i am not sure if my problem exactly releated whiti this thread but here is the thing
i am living in turkey and i bought an htc sensation also made it s-off and root while using ics roms i got a little dust problem on screen just 5 months passed since i bought the phone so i want to make it s-on back there is a thread about making s-on i fallowed the steps just i have problem whit ruu part which is in turkish forums there is a ruu for turkey vodafone users starting whit 1.45.... when i tried to flash it show me i am trying flash i mage version 2.08.401.1 to 1.45.468.2 after that it gives 155 code error
at the moment my hboot version is 1.17 using elegancia 2.3.5 v.1.5 rom already did supercid ofc short version of the long
whats should i do to get my phone s-on back whic ruu will work for me or what can i do making 1.45 ruu working for my phone pelase help me
sorry for bad english if its too bad

in order to run ruu u need change cid to match it and hboot equal or lower than ruu.

hboot 1.17 should be the lowest version available on forum.

hy guys, i have a desire s with hboot 6.98.1002, revolutionary s-off, i have recovery and all the things installed but i'm wondering how to sim unlock , i read that if you have s-off you can sim unlock your desire s, but how? i search it but i can't find anything...

and i think it is Vodafone System cuz i buy it from Vodafone Germany
so i tried to get s-off by many ways like htc Dev Unlock Method and another ways i don't remember it
and i want to change it to s-off cuz vodafone system is very bad and slow
but i don't get s-off
and now i don't have wifi too :crying::crying::crying:
and i can't connect it to the computer

I have a htc sensation XE (Asia WWE) Im ment to select "sensation" for my device, Im not 100% sure? I have bn told my phone is from Singapore "Asia WWE" Unfortunately once im at "Unlocking Your Bootloader"-"select your device" is were I get stuck! As I can't see any - Sensation Asia WWE- !?!...
To choose from under the list! Can someone pls help me to select the right one? Im located in Austusralia. And the network carrier I use is Amaysim (optus) I dont know if thats of any help? If I am not able to unlock my Bootloader through htcdev, can you pls point me in the right direction, & advise me on what I need to do! Post with guides would be great help! choose all other supported devices.if unlock bootloader fails then use this guide to S-OFF your device
