Issues with Google calendar sync - Xperia Tablet Z Themes and Apps

Hi everyone,
I have been having issues with my calendar sync on my XTZ 311. It has been happening over the past three months and it is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore as classes are starting again soon and I use my tablet as my primary organizer. I had been using Google Calendar from the play store, but I had noticed that in no monger was syncing and I couldn't troubleshoot it myself, so I factory reset my tablet to see it that would help. Long story short, it didn't, and not whenever I try to open it, it just force closes. The stock calendar is only slightly better as it will at least sync facebook birthdays. Now yes, I could get away with just using this but I like to have everything synced with my phone and laptop as well. Attached are some screenshots of the problem, if anyone could help that'd be great.

Have you found anything elsewhere on the issue? Its kind of beginning to be a major issue for me.

I had that and what I did was to remove the Google account and insert it again. For now it's working...

Had same issue. For me solution was simple... Instal another calendar app, sync google calendar there, let it work for a while and voila... That somehow made it work again. You can delete that new calendar afterwards.
Google knows about this and investigate it.

might help
open google calendar on PC browser. Try checking the calendar you use. I guess multiple calendars kinda force close sony calendars app. After unchecking resync your calendar. And the check it back and sync again.

This may help. I couldn't sync calendar at all with service.
Get GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk, install it llike an app, and calendar will sync with g account.
I have android CM 4.4.2, not sure if this can help all, but this is link I dwnloaded from:
goo.im , site wont let me to put link here, but google GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk, get it and install it.
Hope it helps.

Sudden sign in error for gmail account...

I just started getting a sign in error for my gmail account in the past couple hours. I am still getting emails and all though...? It's just putting a notification in the drop down over and over. I click the retry button to sign in and nothing happens. I also noticed Google Now stopped working and it did earlier (running aftermarket ROM, obviously). Anyone have any thoughts? No way Google is having problems...or are they...?

Most likely due to the latest Google Maps update, not ROM related.

Seems to be an issue with Google Now, affecting jelly bean and ics devices with Now added according to android police and several other blogs.

yeah same here. Everything was logged in and working however kept getting those messages. I ended up deleting my account>clear cache>recreate account which did the trick. Well either that or it was a complete coincidence.
Just happened once for me , I think

[Q] Can't edit calendar entries from exchange server

Sorry for the several pictures attached, but they will help illustrate the problem.
This is the software version I am using on the phone. I am rooted but otherwise stock.

This is the version of Google Calendar I am using
I have 2 exchange accounts on my Android device. Each syncs calendar entries properly. This pic is of one of the accounts.
However, depending on the manner in which the calendar entry was entered, whether on the phone or using outlook, the notifications differs.
This entry was added using the phone. Notice the "pen" icon in the top right, which allows for editing the entry as well as the general layout of the notification.
Now notice the notification when the entry was made with outlook. It is very different, and does not have the pen icon to edit the entry.
I found the following post (https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=13779) which seems to indicate that it is a problem with the primary SMTP address, but I removed, and then re-added the account using the exact address, and the problem persists.
I am at a loss. Anyone have any ideas. I contact my hosted exchange service, and they asked if I had updated my android software to the latest, and then said that, since they have not had many, if any, complaints about it, there was nothing they could do. Now, I am willing to live with it if need be, but I would love to correct this issue.
Update
So, I added the exchange calendar to a different android phone (TBolt) and the entries are now editable.
I then uninstalled, and reinstalled, the calendar app on the problem phone (A Rezound) and the problem is still present.
I also notice that I had two calendar applications. Notice the icons at the bottom of the picture
Perhaps there is some sort of interaction causing the problem. Anyone have any suggestions. Would love to uninstall the older calendar app, but don't see that option anywhere.
I am trying to avoid a factory wipe, and am also wondering if the latest Rezound SW update will cure the problem.
Any ideas?

[Q] Gmail - Out of date sync that won't update

I'm on CM 4.4.2 and I've had this issue a few times now. My Google account syncs properly except for Gmail which is "stuck" in an out of date sync. No matter what I do, Gmail refuses to update itself. This results in not getting new mail notifications, and not being able to see any new email since the last sync.
Things I've tried:
Rebooting
Clearing Gmail cache
Clearing Gmail app data + cache
Forcing a resync in Settings > accounts
This is what it looks like, you can see here 1 minute before the screenshot I forced a resync of my Google account, everything updates fine except for Gmail which is stuck on 2014-01-20.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
After clearing app data + cache, Gmail is stuck on this screen:
The only way to workaround the issue is to remove my entire Google account and set it back up again on the device. This is not ideal, and the issue comes back at some point again.
I get this with contacts, it will only sync one time when I flash a new gapps. I have had this issue since I rooted, some 13+ months ago.

Try to flash another rom instead of CM 4.4 see if your gmail is working, if its then probably a bug with CM or you can try to flash different gapp? http://d-h.st/yrl
Do you have any emails stuck sending? If so you would need to delete them along with the above steps of clearing data and such

I don't think its 4.4 related. I have had an issue with my contacts syncing since I rooted over a year ago. I have gone from 4.2-4.4 roms, tw and asop. It didn't matter. I tried different gapps, from 0day to PA to what was recommended by the roms developer. Only after a wipe will I sync one time.

New options in settings sync (google account)

Hi!
I've noticed new options when I enter settings and select my google account (sync details).

Do you know what are these? Weird is that there are "*" in some titles. Do you know what are these with star? Do you know what exactly does it sync? Do you know why there are 2 exact same positions? Don't know why one of these options is in english while rest is in Polish. Is everything OK or maybe I should wipe data (I dirty flashed when coming from 4.4.2 to 4.4.3)
Thanks in advance
These are supposedly hidden sync points. Have you installed Greenify?. Greenify Experimental version enables/displays these 'hidden' ones - so you can chose to enable/disable sync on them.
Yes, I installed greenify but never would guess this is because of greenify. Thanks for help
Mine now has 3 options for photos...
Google photos
Auto backup Google photos
Google+ photos
..nice one Google for making your software so easy to understand.. nobs
Can anyone say what exactly does that sync mean:
- Location and location something
- Google Play services
- Push subscription
I was curious about these too. And also why there are 2 "Game Data" options
Also, I unticked a bunch of them (i.e. Push Subscriptions, Google Photos, etc.)
But notice that they get reticked (upon reboot, I think)

Notification problem on Facebook App Tap Login Screen

Hey guys, I have a problem I cannot seem to figure out.. Probably a week or two ago I stopped getting logged out notifications, I use the Tap login (saved password login) where it shows your picture and you tap it once to log in, the problem is it no longer shows the red dot with the number of notifications waiting anymore. Here are the things I've tried.
Going to APPS in Settings and checking that "Show Notifications" is enabled, which it is.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Went to in-app Settings and Notification Settings (assuming that even has any effect on Logged out notifications I'm not sure if it does or not.) Still appears to be ok settings.
Other things I've tried:
Clearing FB app cache.
Clearing FB app data.
Unintalling FB app completely (including files left after uninstall)
Reinstalling FB app.
Clearing Cache from Recovery Mode.
Factory Reset from Recovery Mode.
None of which has fixed the problem.
Here are some details that may be useful:
Phone: ZTE ZMAX2 (z958)
Android OS Version: 5.1 Lollipop
Facebook App version: 180.0.0.35.82
I thought maybe FB broke something in one of their updates or something but everyone knows FB has next to nothing as far as support, they do have the "report a problem" on facebook but you always get an automated reply and never really know if your getting anywhere by reporting it. Also the developer email on google play but again with so many users I imagine the amount of support emails I doubt they are able to monitor them efficiently.
Anyone have any ideas whatsoever as to what the problem could be? Could it be an android setting somewhere that is blocking the apps logged out notifications? Or possibly app not syncing?
Any help would be appreciated.
bump... Anyone?
