After soldering new antenna pins, wifi doesnt connect - HTC One S

hello guys,
finally posting here after serious searching for days as some htc one s models have this wifi issue of weak signals or not connecting at all.
1. I have HTC One S S4 model.
2. Wifi used to connect only to WPA routers within a radius of 5 meters from router. Any router away frmo 5 meters wouldnt be captured by phone.
3. Tried different tweaks on antenna but nothing, checked through the wifi power option in advanced settings too.
4. upgraded official ROM, nothing happened.
5. Finally took the phone apart and changed the wifi antenna pins, resoldered new ones.
6. On these new pis, used the tweak (putting a U shaped wire touching antenna pins and cover)
7. Now, most of the times, it has full signal strength, but just stays on "Establishing Connection" and leaves.
My phone is bootloader unlocked, rooted with HBoot 2.15 and TWRP recovery installed.
The BT and 3G works perfect and fast
Android 4.1.1
HTC Sense 4
Software Versio 3.16.75
Kernel 3.4x
Baseband 1.12.50
Compilation 3.16.75
Please suggest me something... i am starting to have enough of this phone......
Thanks

Did you try flashing the Wi-Fi partition fix?

Did you try flashing another Radio ?
I have taken my phone apart a few times I'm not sure what you soldered but I hope you used a low heat when you did it.
I would also take another peek inside and make sure some solder did not go somewhere it shouldn't have gone.

Thanks for the replies guys. I changed the phone with a customer who is almost every time on the move so don't use WiFi usually, I told him the issue and changed with his.
Let me get my hands on his HTC when he is back in town AMS I will try the suggested methods....
Previous information guys... Thx

intermittant wifi problems

does anyone know which pins at the back of the phone is this for wifi connections?
thank you.
I think the top one above the cam us wifi below that is bluetooth, the bottom is mobile network and I think the left one is 4g but some people have said its also mobile network for non 4g devices

Thanks. this helped me toggle down varience of problems and solve my issue.
Method of checking: with the case off+ phone on, put only the front part of the phone in the case and press the area were the pins are and test wifi.
This helped me figure out it was a case problem. I put a piece of aluminum to increase the conductivity with the pins.... ****ing htc
thanks so much

No signal on sensation 4g

hey guys!
I have a bit of a puzzeler on my hands, hopefully you guys may be able to help me out!
I have the Htc sensation 4g from Vrigin canada
A few days ago i noticed that my signal strength was at 0, and i was unable to make any calls or surf the web.
So i go to virgin, and they set me up with a new sim (or three) to no avail.
I then call tech support, and they inform me that, simce my phone is over one year old, i cannot have the phone covered under the warrenty , no insurance me must fix the phone myself.
some information about the phone : I am s-off, running the latest radio (from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202867 ) on android revolutions's stock ics.
I believe i have tried everything, but maybe i missed something, here is what i have tried:
remove battery
factory reset
new sim
update radio
update ril
update firmware
lift connectors on back of phone to insure proper connection to back cover
try new back cover
remove old sim/sd reader replace with new sim/sd reader
return to stock rom
So that's that, what do you guys think? Do I have a bad radio transmitter/receiver? bad main board?
Every thing else on the phone works, even the wifi and fm radios.
I have noticed that occationally the phone will show a couple bars, but upon calling it says that i am not registered on the network. most of the time the phone reads no signal no network provider under settings->about phone->network
I really appreciate any insight that you may be able to offer!!
Thanks!

So your provider is not willing to help? If you are paying your provider monthly and your device isn't registering on there network I would give them a call. Simply state your device is no longer registering on there network and ask them what are they going to do about it? I would be furious if they refused to help me because device is out of warentee! Sounds like your kind of stuck . You have tried everything. Perhaps give your provider one more call and see if they can at the very least trouble shoot your device. Just because your device is out of warentee don't mean you still don't pay them monthly for service. By chance have you tried a new sim card? Just a thought....I do hope you get this issue solved soon. Best wishes

thanks for the advice, I believe that I will give them a call tomorrow and see if there is anything that they can do for me...
ok guys, I managed to get my phone signal back up and going once again, but it was no easy matter. for those who may happen along from Google or what not, here is the solution:
Buy a sensation with a busted screen, remove guts, place in your phone, re assemble, make phone calls again.
I initially just swapped out the main boards, thinking that the problem was with the antenna connections or something. I put my phone back together and still nothing. deflated.
I took the phone back apart and swapped in the flex cable, antenna connector cable, and the board at the top of the phone. after putting it all back together everything worked, I'm thinking that replacing the top portion of the main board was all that needed to be done; I replaced everything just to be safe.
so there you have it, i hope this helps anyone who stumbles upon this with a similar problem. my problem was a hardware problem.

[Q] [HTC One S][S4] No singal bar, cannot make phone calls, but can navigate!

Hi all,
i've got a HTC One S (S4)
- Unlocked bootloader
- Custom recovery (twrp)
- Root
- S-Off
The problem that im having is that the phone recognizes the SIM, can connect to the internet and navigate at good speeds (I can also see the H and 3G icons), but it has no service on the signal bar and I cannot make or receive calls.
Thinking it was a radio issue, i flashed many radios for Ville i found on this forum, but no improvements at all.
Any thoughts or suggestions are highly apprisciated.
Many thanks!
PS ive tried other phones, so its not the sim.
I experienced these problems few months ago.. GSM antenna cable was unplugged after a fall.. I just disassembled the phone and connected it.

yeah but i havent droped once mine,
could it be just software issue?
PS i forgot to tell that sometimes it receives for a couple of minutes the signal bar and can call and send sms.
Found out that the owner hadn't paid phone bills and the phone was blocked by IMEI, so only option was resell it for a lower price.

Same problem for me. After a fall (not sure) no mor signal, only emergency calls. What have you done exactly? I've disassembled it, found the antenna cable and it seems ok: unplugged and plugged again, both connector (the one at the top and the one at the bottom).
many thanks

[Q] High GSM/WCDMA antenna attenuation

Hi
I recently did a rebuild on my one s to replace the vibrate motor/ribbon cable & also inadvertently resolved my touch buttons not working
Since then unless the phone is in a very strong signal area (we have a femto cell in the office which it connects to fine) it gets nothing at all - my sim works without issue in other phones so that's not it
I understand that the GSM antenna is in the lower section of the phone, I've checked all the gold contacts and the wire running down from the mainboard to this daughterboard, disassembled and rebuilt etc but the issue persists.
My question is, is it worth going through the radios and flashing to see if thats it - or could it be the replacement part was faulty?
Any advice or things to try would be appreciated
Cheers

[Q] Complete lack of GSM signal - hardware failed?

One S S4
Hboot 2.15
Radio 1.20
TWRP 2.8.6.4
CM12.1
This was the last working config my phone had before this problem... I tried one night to clean flash a new version of Cm12.1, without noticing that I had ran out of battery juice. Flash failed and phone closed midway through, charged it and rebooted. At first it wouldn't start in recovery, so I flashed recovery again in fastboot. Then managed to flash CM12.1 only to see that it didn't had any GSM signal. During all these operations phone heated as crazy.
Restored to stock using RUU, flashed different radios and roms since then, from ICS with earliest radio to Miui, CM12, Sense 6 etc with latest 1.35, went to hboot 2.16 and back, tried all possible combinations but signal haven't worked since.
Only on some ICS Vodafone RUU plus 1.08 radio I had some rays of hope, GSM signal was working for about 10 sec. after reboot or airplane mode but then nothing. Also, if I could establish a phone call, signal wouldn't drop during, I could speak for minutes without problems.
Could it be maybe nand corruption, some onboard chip failing due to overheating, antenna cable connections loose etc?
PS. Network - Vodafone Romania, SIM is working fine in all other phones I have at my disposal, other Vodafone sims are not working also in my One S. Don't have any other network microsim to try.
I'd check the top back cover and make sure it's in place and that contacts are clean. It really looks like an hardware problem.
An RUU should have fixed the matter.
Phone has been disassembled and cleaned, antenna cable reseated, all contacts sandpapered a bit with the finest grit paper, then cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, contact springs retensioned. I think maybe some issues with mainboard chips or traces...
PS. GSM antenna is actually under the bottom back cover, top one has antennas for wifi, BT, GPS, which are working fine.
From Anandtech review, il looks like you're right. GSM antenna is at the bottom. Did you solve your problem?
Unfortunately, no... waiting for a microsim from a different operator to arrive to test.
MicroSIM from another operator arrived, same issue, can't get any signal whatsoever. Searching for another faulty One S (maybe broken screen), because I can't afford a new phone right now...
