I have a strange issue with my GS3 Verizon. I was running Clean ROM 4 and then recently wiped it and put Clean Rom 7.0 on it. Everything was working fine until last week it started just powering off randomly. So i'd pull the battery, reboot, and voila, it worked for a while until it randomly powered down again. Today i was thinking maybe it was Clean Rom causing this so I wiped it and installed Wicked Sensations. The problem only worsened. It started powering down like every minute. Now not eve a battery pull will get the phone back on.
Verizon is sending me a replacement, but i have to get this phone unrooted and back to stock so i don't have to pay a 300 dollar fee.
Can anyone PLEASE help me get this done? I have Samsung Drivers and Oden but doesn't recognize this blank screen device...
Thanks

Yes, flash this http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23134718111254196 with Odin. That's it....if you can boot into recovery mode.

How can I flash when the phone won't even power up? I can't get it to go into recovery or anything right now. Oden doesn't recognize anything either (i'm assuming because there's no power to the device?)

So you can't turn on the phone even with the power plug in? is there any indication where the phone has power, like vibrating, flashing light, sound etc..? I don't think your phone is brick, most likely hardware issue since it's acting up before it die.
Exactly...there is no sign of power whatsoever. Verizon is sending a replacement but i'm worried they'll figure out it's rooted w a custom ROM flashed...so i was hoping to find a way to get unrooted and back to stock before it is sent back to them...
BUT I will say....when i plug the phone into my mac, i get the dialog box from VMWare fusion that asks do you want this device connected to Mac or Windows...but then Oden doesn't see it on Windows side and Android File Transfer won't notice it on mac side...but at least there's recognition that SOMETHING was just plugged in to the machine... hope?

So pretend the screen is dead, boot it into download mode,(hold down the 3 buttons) wait 30 sec, then connect the phone to your pc see if your pc see the phone through Odin.(even though the screen is black).
Edit: I think you having hardware issue, but it's not hurt to try the hardbrick method just for the hell of it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581166

So I'm not sure when this happened, but when I hold my power button for a hard reset, this is the first thing that comes up after the phone shuts down. The sequence goes
1) Hold Power button
2) Screen off
3) This messed up screen
4) SAMSUNG logo
5) ROM bootscreen
Anyone have any idea what this is and how to fix it? This is HUGE nuisance, and if anyone could help, I'll owe you a beer.... or vodka

Also it may help to know what rom/kernel you are running

ODIN to stock using GB ODIN. You'll be good to go
Thanks for the replies, I actually forgot about this thread. I ended up using GTG to flash back to stock to install Zeus and it fixed this problem. I think the original issue happened when I tried to put a custom bootanimation.zip on the phone... now I'm afraid to tweak the bootscreen...
Fear not! At the most you might end up reverting to stock. No big deal, and its worth experimenting.
hi my screen is the same as the guy in the post. but mine is due to the fact im a rogers phone and i installed att gb 2.3.6 and now im stuck as att. is there a way out of this so i can go back to rogers. i tried all the rogers kernels and so on. unless there is a rogers boot somewhere i can download
Display Issue HELP!
Ok my phone has this same problem...anytime upon starting the phone that colorful snowey screen will show for about 5-6 sec right before you see the at&t logo. then it goes away and everything works perfect. I will also occasionally show up when i launch the camera! so I cant see what im taking a picture of but it will still capture the picture just fine...weird. This phone was doing this while NOT ROOTED...any help please!?

It sounds like yours may be a hardware issue, but I can't say for sure, I would say take it to AT&T, but your warranty is busted. So my best advice is to use google.com and see if anyone else is having the same issue.
yeah ive googled all day long and this is the only thing I can find on the issue...damn. Thanks
No prob, I wish I knew more so I could help, but I have never heard of that issue
The rainbow screen in the picture is due to using a kernel with the wrong bootloaders. You are most likely running a GB or ICS ROM on froyo bootloaders. Odin back to stock 2.3.6 and flash the BL's.

Hey guys,
well i installed clockworkmod rom manager and used that program to upgraded to cyogenmod 7.
It seems that after the backup and install of the new rom, my phone now only boots to the LG logo screen. This is a very big problem for me since I do not have nvflash installed and only CWM.
The main issue is when i boot into CWM, i can can navigate around, however the power button does not work for selecting anything. I can't select reboot, can't do anything. Which brings me to another thing, CWM ONLY has "reboot phone", "wipe cache", "wipe partition", "apply sd card update.zip"(have Cygen mod rom on my sdcard).
What do you guys recommend me doing ot fix this? I'd be happy just bringing the phone back to stock.
Any help ASAP would be great as i need my phone working sooner rather htan later.
First off rom manager doesn't work on this phone. Second go to this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33748097 go to nvflash clockworkmod section and use the tools provided on a pc it sounds kinda complicated but its not. Its the only way i know to fix the problem

Hey,
Sorry about htat. Ill reupload a photo.
I am holding down both volume buttons. THe funny thing is that when i pull the battery, hold the two buttons down, then plug in the phone, it doesn't go to the "S/W Upgrade" screen. It stays black. Once I initiate one of the NVflashes, the screen then switches over to the "S/W Upgrade screen".
Should it be going to this upgrade screen after a short bit after i plug it in? Is this an issue?
Well guy's.
Following that post worked. For some reason everytime i would do at home, it wouldn't work. I tried running nvflash as admin/non admin, still showed the error.
However coming into work and using my work computer, resolved the issue. I got the experimental touch based CWM up and running and was able to use a coworkers G2x to access my SD card to put Cyanogen 7 on which then allowed me to flash that ROM to my G2x.
All is working well now!!! Thank god for the nearly unbrickable phone

So I'm having this problem that had just happened right now.
The tablet when turned off and charging will show the standard battery charging logo, but it won't go further than that. I can get it to the boot screen aswell however it won't get any further than that.
I can get into the Odin mode recovery thing
I'm using stock jelly bean, no root, nothing changed, completely stock

What model note 10.1 do you have and what OS version are you on?
As you can get into the odin mode have you tried to flash the ROM you are currently on?
Have you tried to do an update over your computer with Kies?
Has your Note 10.1 ever been rooted and what was the last thing you did before turning it off to charge?

Here is a link that may help you.
http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-note-10-1/686071-fix-all-bootloops-note-10-1-a.html
It looks like they are saying to connect your Note to your computer in the odin mode, then start odin on your computer and flash the HighOnAndroidCWMRecoveryGTN8000.tar located in this file http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyNote10.1/rooting/RootGalaxyNote10.1.zip then reboot into recovery and do a factory rest.
It may work but try at your own risk..... Update ...... as you are not rooted just send it in for repair or return it.
call Samsung, seems this has happened to a few members here, demandarin, a respected poster, had the same issue after updating an app. A few threads have popped up, but no one has reported back with a solution nor what the response from Samsung was

My Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8013) is stuck at samsung loading screen... I still have access to CWM (ClockWorkMod Recovery) Which is what I was using before this happened, and I can access download mode... Please Help!
Like everyone else on this forum my Samsung 10.1 is struck in the boot loop This tablet has Cyanogenmod software. The first error message "Trebuchet not working". then it hangs and nothing happens. Is this the end of the line for my much loved tablet?
Factory reset flash stock rom through Odin .
Same issue. Stuck on "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" screen. Can ONLY get to Odin d/l screen, nOT recovery. Will only shut off when plugged in to charge.
Tried multiple times to flash stock firmware as well as recovery firmware via Odin. No change.
Even tried using older Odin 1.85
Won't connect via Kies 2. Even after going to earlier USB driver (thinking driver newer than Note was not backwards compatible, like Samsung's new Smart Switch). Kies 3 reports incompatibility too.
Next step, disconnect battery on the off chance that does SOMETHING.
Shortly before this all happened, tablet booted in "Safe Mode" on its own. I guess that was my warning that something was up.
What happens when you use the posted fix in this thread ??

Tried all of the above solutions - no go. Battery pull for 2 hours - no go. It happened to me the second time already. The first time I believe the simple stock rom reflash helped in a pinch. Not anymore
So I'm trying to go back to stock rom with flashtool. Everything sets up and goes fine until it tries to switch phone to DL mode. IT fails 15 seconds in and then nothing happens.
Any ideas? Tried every usb port and every cable (3 of them) and it's the same thing every goddamn time.

Are you not putting your device in download mode first? You must first place the phone into download mode yourself. Also make sure those USB ports are USB 2.0. USB 3.0 will cause that exact error your getting as well.

Yup. USB 2.0. Yes, I put the phone in to DL mode before plugging it in. Sometimes it flashes almost all the way then gets as far as checking minios then blue factory reset screen and I'm stuck there due to flashtool failing to read the phone -again-.

Hi! I have a big problem with my tablet... after flashing Lineage OS we had two happy month, but one day I turned on the device and a message appeard. The tablet couldn't find the internal memory.
So I went in recovery, I wiped everything, but I couldn't flash because internal memory wasn't in list!
So I turned off and on, and now it is almost dead.
The screen turns on when I charge it, but it freeze on the battery loading icon.
When remove the cable, the image is still here.
To turn off, I have to press alla the buttoms together for some seconds.
Is it dead? What can I do? I can't boot it or access to recovery.

Did you download the Stock ROM?. first thing first download the stock.. .. there is a post up above by JJEgan with a link for Samsung Note 10.1 I'm not sure which of the variant you have so the rest is pretty much up to you, if you don't comprehend easily you should watch a tutorial on YouTube about flashing stock rom on the note 10.1 ...
Enbert?.. you don't need to "turn on" the tablet to flash it with Odin, you just need to be in "Download Mode".. by holding the Volume down button then the power button until the screen is Sky blue.. try putting it in download mode now & let me know....
AND YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THANKING PEOPLE WHEN THEY RENDER ASSISTANCE & THEIR TIME, POST OF WISDOM, THERE IS A THANKS BUTTON, USE & PRESS IT MORE WHILE.
How can he flash via Odin when phone cannot boot to download mode.

ii agree with you! he highlighted he didn't know how to why i mentioned how to.
I wasn't "asking" for thanks, I was suggesting he thanked you being that you explained and appointed a link to him long before I tried to. ?
I do not know how to thanks via smartphone, I don t know very well this forum, sorry for not sending a "thanks".
Writing "turn on" I didn t mean boot android, sorry for the misunderstanding. I mean turn on in recovery, download or anything else.
Yes no download mode is the problem.
Thanks are up to you and nobody else .Thats XDA rules.

Thank you!
