I'm having a problem installing the Nova Launcher on Android Revolution HD 6.1.0.
I copy the APK into /system/app and install, but when I attempt to select Nova Launcher as my default launcher, I get an unexpected error, and it closes. Anyone know how to fix this.

I restored nova launcher on ARHD 6.1.0 with Titanium and is working as default without any issue.
I dont' know if it could be of any help, but here the permissions for nova are rwxr-xr-x. I think that if you put the apk in system/app, change permissions, reboot (without launching/installing) it should work.

I recently flashed cyanogenmod 10 (android 4.1.1) on my gtab 2 7.0, it's flawless but I have some questions..
-Is there a way I can edit the arragement of the icons in my apps drawer?
-Does it have a task manager (built in)? I searched for it everywhere.
-Does it have a "my files" app, like the one in the stock ROM, to explore the storage and so?
Thanks. (sorry if in wrong section, no one answered me in the CM10 post)
(I do know this is an experimental version, but I tried CM9 and found the same things, so I'm just asking)

The quick apps? No. You can't edit that.

The apps in the menu, don't know what they're called
Apps in the app drawer? No. You might try another launcher like nova or apex. But I'm not sure that functionality is there either.

I have Nova launcher and love it. I have the P-3113 and CM10.
Works on 4.1 AOSP/JB ROMS ONLY
SAMPLE
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.Download the Android 4.2 Launcher apk file and transfer it to a convenient location on your phone.
2.If you are using a Nexus Device or running an AOSP /AOKP based stock Android ROM, you need to be rooted. Download Titanium Backup and uninstall your default Android 4.1 launcher. If you are using an OEM customized ROM, like a Touchwiz based or HTC Sense Based ROM, you can skip Step 2 and move on directly to Step 3.
3.Now using a File explorer like ES File Explorer or Astro, navigate to the location where you had transferred the APK file for the Android 4.2 launcher, in Step 1.
4.Install the Launcher apk, and enjoy the default launcher from the upcoming Android 4.2

Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU ! ! !
Welcome relief from TW crashing on my Note2 n7100
After much work, I got it working on my AOKP Swagger (by Frankinstine - link in sig).
What I did:
1. Titanium Backup - Backup Launcher
2. Root Explorer - Copy Android-4.2-Launcher.apk to /system/app, set permissions to rw-r--r--
3. Recovery - Nandroid Backup (Just cause)
4. Root Explorer (just open it, so it's in your recents)
5. Titanium Backup - Uninstall Launcher2
6. Root Explorer - rename "Android-4.2-Launcher.apk" to "Launcher2.apk"
7. Root Explorer - select Launcher2.apk and install it.
8. Titanium Backup - Restore Launcher "Data Only" (widgets do not restore)
9. Reboot
Running fine for me now.
any way to reduce home screens on it? i would like to have only 2 home screens on it? or not possible, yet?
Why is this so hard for all of you? I'm running CM10, I just did
Code:
adb install 4.2_Launcher2_signed.apk
and it installed.
Tanks!
I just copied it to system/app with original name (4.2...) and after - deleted Launcher2.apk. Reboot and voila - it's done. And icons layout saved

If you got this from the Google Play Store: read the market description. If you got it from some shady site, you're not bound to receive assistance -- warez is against the rules in here (the community exists in large part due to the developers behind these applications).

You have to install both prime and the basic app. It looks the same. Prime gets you some extra features.
What will happen if I will push 2 or more launchers into system, I tried it as I pushed dodol launcher into system, when I rebooted it askd me to salect launcher but when I salect dodol, it force stops, what should I do now? I am using mmx a89 with note 3 rom. I want to delete stock touchwiz launcher, I hate it and want to install dodol.

Nothing really happens, but sometimes this happens when pushing files to your /system/apps folder. Ad from experience it force closes. Its to do with root. I don't dot hat so I don't know.
If you want to use dodol then just install dodol launcher and just select it as default. But if you're bugged about touchwiz being installed to your system, then you can personally delete the .apk from /system/app or /system/priv-app
Ad I've done this, I deleted the stock Google launcher and replaced it with Epic Launcher. Just make sure to do a backup if something ends up going wrong.

Okay thank you so much, I will try that, so you mean I should not push dodol into system, I should just install it and salect this, and just delete the .apk of touwiz from system.
But please tell me what will happen if I will reset my device, coz then dodol will be a user app not a system app then it should also be deleted.

If you reset it, then im certain there will be no launcher, so I suggest you just just disable the app from apps manager if possible. Or dong disable or delete it at all, just clear its data, and set dodol as default and touchwiz launcher will not take excess memory or interfere with anything.
