I recently flashed cyanogenmod 10 (android 4.1.1) on my gtab 2 7.0, it's flawless but I have some questions..
-Is there a way I can edit the arragement of the icons in my apps drawer?
-Does it have a task manager (built in)? I searched for it everywhere.
-Does it have a "my files" app, like the one in the stock ROM, to explore the storage and so?
Thanks. (sorry if in wrong section, no one answered me in the CM10 post)
(I do know this is an experimental version, but I tried CM9 and found the same things, so I'm just asking)

The apps in the menu, don't know what they're called
Apps in the app drawer? No. You might try another launcher like nova or apex. But I'm not sure that functionality is there either.

All credit goes to persiansown for the initial Nexus release in this thread.
Confirmed as working for non-rooted users
These are not Nexus One specific
I've tweaked the files a bit and they should install on a non-rooted phone now, all of the libraries are written to /data instead of /system. This makes the apks inefficient, the largish library is installed with every wallpaper.
It's entirely up to you of course and no, I can't do anything about the performance (but it's no different than the port for root users)...
Just install like any other app.
Note to root users: you're better off using the original version.
Thanks for this. Appreciate it. seems to work fine
Works great for me also...but lags the sh*t out of my phone..so uninstalling
BTW Oceanwave is really nice
thanks for this

So I can just place these apks in a folder on my sdcard, and install them with Astro?

Yeah, you can just put on the root of your SD and install with Astro.
It works for N1 2.2 Froyo FR83 (unrooted) but even on the N1 it lags the phone quite a bit. I do like the dandelion one though. Maybe someone can optimize it for the other phones.
Thanks for the wallpaper though.

After rooting my S3, I got a little over zealous uninstalling all the bloatware. As such, I mistakenly deleted the alarm clock (ya know, the one that works with S Voice). Does anyone have the apk for the stock touchwiz alarm clock? The only downloads I can find are modded versions ported for other phones.
Thanks in advance.
You should be able to download a stock rom and search the zip. Normally they are located in the \system\app directory. Make sure you match permissions with other system apps.

Hi there, this is how i fixed my alarm problem
firstly download the clock apk relavent to your phone, i think that there are 3 different ones provided in this thread.
Secondly you need to download something from the play store called "Rom toolbox pro" its £3 but if you ask in the forums here someone can probably point you to a free one that does the same thing.
make sure your phone is rooted, install and run Rom toolbox pro. click on Root Browser, navigate to where you put the APK on your phone, copy and move it to root/system/app. Once you have moved the apk find it in the app folder, click and hold it for a couple of seconds. A menu should popup with options, click on "permissions" set them so they are like this. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2pphiyo&s=6 If you are using a different app you will need to set your permissions accordingly, yet again im sure there is someone on here clever enough to help with that.
Now just restart your phone, the APK will run on boot.
These are the exact steps i followed and they worked for me. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2h353dl&s=6
I hope you have the same luck
Steve

No it's not odexed rom as I'm on stock deodexed.. And even if I use another launcher ..I'm thinking it's because of the att BS bloatware like ready2go thingy or such which put their nose even in your texting..
doesnt have anything to do with bloatwares. Its about editing the framework to make it work for touchwiz but since a lot dont like touchwiz, and run custom roms.. they edit mostly for those. I can open the app, settings, type the sender, type the text but it crashes right when I click send. Ive asked in some many threads that have the AOSP Mms.apk..
Not correct...I'm stock deodexed and using aosp launcher not touchwiz and still crashes after sending any text...its also not a touchwiz isssue ...
It is a touchwiz issue. Touchwiz isn't just a launcher. Its part of the framework.

The app is completely free and built from AOSP source without any "ads" or "dontate to me" banners or menu items. It was the only way I got AOSP messaging to work under TouchWiz. I used this app the ICS version on TouchWiz with no issues.

this way it will be the only launcher on your device.

anyone know if you can use this with CM10??
I have galaxy tab 2 wifi p3110. I rooted it and installed CyanogenMod ROM 10.1 on it. I am satisfied with it. However, I would like to change 2 things.
I prefer Google Play Music than that stock Apollo music app. I cant find a way to uninstall that app.
Does uninstalling it affects the CM RoM?
Also, I like the background of the app drawer to be transparent not black bcoz I dont like that Background. So, please help me out..

And it will not affect the rom..
For other system apps I suggest you to use app like root freezer, freeze the system app first to see weather it affects the functionality or not and then uninstall it(the app ahs the opt to do that)
2) every launcher has that feature :silly:

follow these steps!
1. download root uninstaller from play store
2. open it, when it asks for root access, allow it!
3. find whichever app you want to delete!

:good::good:
Rooot uninstaller works too.
So does Titanium Backup.
As for transparent back you can get nove launcher.
go to nova settings> app drawer and then choose desired transparency.
