I have galaxy tab 2 wifi p3110. I rooted it and installed CyanogenMod ROM 10.1 on it. I am satisfied with it. However, I would like to change 2 things.
I prefer Google Play Music than that stock Apollo music app. I cant find a way to uninstall that app.
Does uninstalling it affects the CM RoM?
Also, I like the background of the app drawer to be transparent not black bcoz I dont like that Background. So, please help me out..

1) go to root/system/apps, find apollo music apk and delete it..
And it will not affect the rom..
For other system apps I suggest you to use app like root freezer, freeze the system app first to see weather it affects the functionality or not and then uninstall it(the app ahs the opt to do that)
2) every launcher has that feature :silly:
if it's helping you it must be thanked.

its very easy bro!
follow these steps!
1. download root uninstaller from play store
2. open it, when it asks for root access, allow it!
3. find whichever app you want to delete!
bravooooooooooo!!! u deleted it! ))
:good::good:
Rooot uninstaller works too.
So does Titanium Backup.
As for transparent back you can get nove launcher.
go to nova settings> app drawer and then choose desired transparency.

Now i dont need DSPManager though.... So how do i uninstall it?
Thanks
You can do it in Titanium Backup, pretty sure there are no ill effects, I used the Freeze option to remove it from my Nexus.

Hmm im relucntant to use Titanium, i remember cyanogen himself saying it was bad :/ Maybe im just paranoid
I guess you could use Modaco's Eezy Freezy, but I've not used that myself.
You can use root explorer and just delete the apk file. Think that's the best way if you don't want to use any other Apps to delete it. You can also use ADB to uninstall it.

i also removed the DSP with Titanium, it working fine,no problems so far after 1 month

If the dsp came with the rom and it's uninstallable through android's built in app manager then you can delete it in
/system/app
That's where all the system apps are. Make sure you mount /system first so you can delete an apk.

thanks i try it on my phone now it killed both speaker and headset bass asnt editable...
found this thread very helpful. I am running Beanstalk on my nexus 5 and was having issues with DSP manager. Any time I wanted to listen to music from my Google Music account I would get a "DSP manager stopped working" pop up ... and even if you hit OK it keeps popping for every song.
Here is how I fixed it.... used Tweaker 2 to uninstall DSP manager and downloaded an Equalizer from the play store. Works like a charm now. Thanks XDA community ... saved the day again:good:
I recently flashed cyanogenmod 10 (android 4.1.1) on my gtab 2 7.0, it's flawless but I have some questions..
-Is there a way I can edit the arragement of the icons in my apps drawer?
-Does it have a task manager (built in)? I searched for it everywhere.
-Does it have a "my files" app, like the one in the stock ROM, to explore the storage and so?
Thanks. (sorry if in wrong section, no one answered me in the CM10 post)
(I do know this is an experimental version, but I tried CM9 and found the same things, so I'm just asking)

Hi,
I'm not an android developement expert but have a question about your advice.
If we delete only the app from /system/app folder (and nothing more. via root explorer), won't it cause trouble?
I would like to give an example for clearing this issue in my mind. In windows, if we just delete the exe file from the Program Files, it doesn't mean we uninstalled the program. It still lefts dll files etc. Is it like this in android?
I asked this because I wanna uninstall the apk's in my custom rom like Google Player or DSP Manager. The developer installed them inside the custom rom, so they look like system apps and as a result I can't uninstall them...
replace them via root explorer and check the permission for new file then restart your device and it will work

adroid system are module style, a apk consist of every thing needed to run the apps. but some app need extra lib file, if you can find the lib file used by a apk to run, than you can delete it form system/lib too.
Exactly what the post above said. Some system apps have .lib files (like windows dll) but i would leave them if i were you because your replacement apps might have dependancies on those lib files. Im not entirely sure.
Also, the libs are stored in system/lib

Apps specially for ICS won't work in gb roms. These 2 version of roms are quite different.
Pls don't simply mess up with the roms version.

Btw, if you back up your original rom's apk files, there is a chance to use them on your custom roms. It has a higher chance if your custom is based on your original rom.
For example, I backed up samsung's music player and photo editor apk on original DDLF2 and installed them on my custom Frankestain rom. Now I'm using them with no problems. I must mention, the original fm radio apk didn't work on custom rom, as it needen some special libraries/frameworks.
Alright i downloaded the leaked s3 jb rom and started extracting all the apps and the launcher i wanted from it to find out they wont install so im just wondering if there is any way to force the apps to install or any thing that might help
Edit: i changed the title since i found a better solution
Well i thought i almost got somewhere lol. Does anyone here think they can get this to install on the samsung infuse??
it wont install because it says
Free ram available: 134055
Free ram required: 171160
Edit:
Alright i decided to extract the zip file and in the config it says:
[CYANOGENMOD AND STOCK ROMS SUPPORT]
###############################################################
MULTIPLATTFORM=no
###############################################################
(yes,no)
*It gives to the "modders" the posibility to add and indentify
the resources for "stocks" and "cyanogenmods" bases by only
adding the "CMOD#" prefix to the cyanogenmod files. Note that
we'll need to add it ONLY when we need to specify differents
versions of the same file and if the file is compatible with
both of them, we don't have to add anything. If the process
detects two versions of the same file it will determine which
one is the correct plattform parsing the "/system/build.prop"
looking for the "ro.build.host=cyanogenmod" string. Remember
that it would have an impact on the application time depending
on the amount of files included.
If you don't need this feature, you must keep it disabled.
e.g
>In the morph proccess, you can add in the same folder:
/MORPH/Phone.apk/CMOD#resources.arsc (only for cyanorom)
/MORPH/Phone.apk/resources.arsc (only for stock)
/MORPH/Phone.apk/CMOD#classes.dex (only for cyanorom)
/MORPH/Phone.apk/classes.dex (only for stock)
/MORPH/Phone.apk/res/drawable/blablabla.xml (for both)
/MORPH/Phone.apk/res/drawable/blublublu.png (for both)
etc..
>And the same for the XTRA files:
/XTRAS/system/etc/CMOD#blablabla.xml (only for cyanorom)
/XTRAS/system/etc/blablabla.xml (only for stock)
/XTRAS/data/app/CMOD#blablabla.apk (only for cyanorom)
/XTRAS/data/app/blablabla.apk (only for stock)
/XTRAS/data/blublublu.xml (for both)
etc..
Anyone think they can make it work??
Or try to show "teach" me how to make it work?

Umm u should Google it if ur looking for a port for those apps. If u are wanting just the theme umm u can most likely pull apps off my remics-jb ROM that has the themed icons.
Do this, download and unzip this ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38159331
Go to system/app in file explorer on that ROM u downloaded and u will be able to tell what app is themed as you look at them. Then put the app u want in ur original system/app using a file manager with root. Then reboot. Its ok if u replace the app

Hello,
At the moment i am flashing newest cm nightlies for sgr every day. I know that it belongs to custom roms like cm that they add their own apps to the rom. Some of them are very nice but for example i do not like trebuchet launcher and apollo music app. The problem is that i dont want to manually deinstall those apps every day/new nightly.
So I am asking if there is an app that checks your apps every reboot and deinstalls those unwanted apps automaticly.

I am not aware of any such kind of app but here is what i recommend you to do.
delete those app(s) which you dont want, from system/app in the zip file of ROM (using computer ofcource)
then import that zip file to cyandelta(I assume you update daily via cyandelta..! )..then successive updates wont include that app(s)
Cool
