Tiny Guide to Theme Note 8! - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Themes and Apps

Hi,
I noticed that there ain't any themes for this tablet so here is an easy way to theme your tablet.
And of course you will need to be rooted to do this.
Also use common sense when messing around the modules. If you end up in boot loops from wrongly setting up the modules then there is always a Xposed disabler zip file in the root of our sdcard that you will have to flash in recovery to remove the bootloops.
1. First Install Xposed app.
2. Second Install xTheme Engine.
3. Here is a collection of xThemes i have collected and uploaded in one place to easier access them.
4. Fourth if you want to further mod you Tablet then try the modules here.
The Xposed Framework and xTheme Engine works on all roms. The themes will only do basic theming so do not expect to move mountains with it.
Happy Theming

What is xposed installer?
It is a framework!
It allows you to install little apps by which you can mod your XL.
Read Advantages for more info.
Only you will be responsible if anything happens to your phone!
Advantages:
No need to modify any APKs. This means:
No need to decompile, change things in smali, compile, sign, ...It will work for odexed and deodexed ROMs.Your mod is not bound to a specific version of the ROM. Unless there is a major change in the methods called for a certain functionality, your mod will continue to work even when you upgrade your ROM. Hell, it will probably even work with different ROMs.Multiple mods can be installed at the same time, even if they change the same package. So you can use these battery icons and those quick toggles. Even hooking the same method twice is possible. Of course, this only works properly if the mods are not trying to do incompatible things.
It does its magic at runtime. That means you can implement options to let the user decide if they prefer the bikeshed to be painted in red or blue. Or you can have some extra logic for certain ROMs without building different mod versions.
It can be disabled easily without having to reflash.
It's open source.
Download:
You can download the installer from the attachment or from thread mentioned above
How to install:
First step for everything you do: Create a nandroid backup and make sure you know how to restore it!
There is also the risk to soft-brick your device. In such a case, restoring a backup is the easiest way to get rid of it
Download XposedInstaller.apk and install it
Launch the Xposed Installer and click on "Install/Update"
Reboot
Done!
In case you get into a boot loop:
You can flash the attached Xposed-Disabler-CWM.zip by Tungstwenty. It will be copied to your (external) SD card when you install Xposed as well. The only thing it does is copying /system/bin/app_process.orig back to /system/bin/app_process, which you can also do yourself (e.g. with adb shell in recovery mode).
You could also create a file /data/xposed/disabled, which causes Xposed to be bypassed as well.
Modules:
You can find modules collection here-

Installation process-
Download .apk and install it
Launch the Xposed Installer and go to the "Modules" tab (you will also get there if you click on the notification warning you that the module is not enabled yet)
Enable the module by checking the check-box

Done!
Please let me know which Modules are working perfectly on Canvas 2 and I will add in my post

[Mod][Jb/Kk]Theme chooser - using cm10/11 themes

Do you love the stripped down or stock based roms but miss the theming ability of CM? Yea, there is the xTheme Engine, but with limited options (they have to be converted or built for xTheme) and so-so support for 4.4 at the moment, this isn't necessarily the best option. Enter: Cydia Substrate and Winterboard. If you are know about iOS and jailbreaking, likely these sound familiar. Install Substrate : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.saurik.substrate then open, link files, then reboot. Then install Winterboard and your favorite CM10 theme(s), select in Winterboard : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.saurik.winterboard and reboot the SystemUI or reboot and enjoy! IF you are having issues getting Cydia Substrate to link, then make sure you open /system in a root file manager and grant it R/W access and try again. I also had luck with getting it to work after installing Xposed (they do work kind of similarly - and for some roms, I had to set R/W as well). Now, this allows you to run any CM10/11 theme, though CM10.x themes will not touch the battery icon, unfortunately. I got this to work on roms like Cataclysm and Mahdi and suspect it should work on about any rom as long as you have working root, /system as R/W and the linked files sticks. If you need more detail, lemme know and I'll see if I can point you in the right direction.

[Q] Themes for Xperia Devices don't work

Hey there
I rooted my Z3 a few days ago and besides being very satisfied
with having the control for everything back in my hands
I have a problem:
I want to change the looks of the settings menu and the system UI itself
as I don't really like the one made by Sony (not flat enough for my likings).
I tried a few different themes (for root) from the Sony Cross Device Development Section
but they never changed anything of the UI, only a static wallpaper appeared a few times.
In the threads of the themes they state that you either need SuperUser Mod (which I got)
or some Xposed Module (didn't even find that).
So did anybody manage to theme the UI?
For device and firmware look at my signature

Superuser mod is not the superuser app.
You need the modified .jar.
The way to get it is to install xperia xposed via xposed framework and enable superuser mod in that module

Thank you! Didn't even thought about this.
Now I got it

Review of Xposed Framework

We decided to do review of Xposed Framework because indeed it is a great Android tool. For all of you that you haven’t heard of Xposed Framework, it is something like Cydia for iOS.
Xposed framework is primarily designed for those who wish to remain on the stock ROM, but do not want to flash it constantly with new custom ROMs in order to get additional features. If you want to do that, then you can freely use Xposed Framework.
Modules are the most important thing in this app, because If you only install Xposed Framework, it will not do anything. If you want to get and perform a specific function, then you need to install a module in order to run a particular function, you can use function that are installed on the module.
How we installed it and does it work
You can download the Xposed Framework apk from here. Then you can download different modules from here. The process of installation is pretty easy and simple. You download the xposed app, you open it, give root right (when it asks), go to framework, click on install/update, when it all goes successfully, just click OK, and then restart.
You can download the modules on the above link, or from the Xposed app directly. It is very important that when you install a module, you must enable the module into the xposed app with checking of the checkbox. After that you must perform a restart.
Conclusion
Why we liked Xposed Framework? There is no need to modify any APKs, the app, that means that there is no need to decompile, change things in smali, compile, sign and that it will work for odexed and deodexed ROMs. Also, it is open source and free and you can disable it wthout having to reflash.
However, it is important to emphasize, that this app works on almost all Android devices, but there is still no support or update for the newest Android version – Android Lolipop 5.0.

Is this really what passes as a review nowadays?

Getting Sony Xperia E5 as close to Nougat as possible with Xposed

Hey guys, so as you noticed this device is getting almost zero support regarding custom ROMs.
I managed to get my device quite close with Xposed and thought why not share with you.
If you already have root and xposed skip to step 3
1st: You will have to root and install TWRP in your device, you can find out how here -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/root-sony-xperia-e5-f3311-t3584813
2nd: You will have to install Xposed installer from here ->
http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
3rd: Install Xposed modules, the ones I used are:
Android N-ify http://repo.xposed.info/module/tk.wasdennnoch.androidn_ify
Pixel Navigation bar https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.paphonb.pixelnavbar
4rth: Install Nova launcher and enable the vertical app drawer
Notes: I'm going to upload a screen record so you can see how the phone looks and behaves and feel free to ask me anything you need help with
Preview: https://vimeo.com/233131140
Finally someone! (or at least tge first one i've seen) Going to try it!
