[Q] [NS4G] Bluetooth outgoing call issue - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This happens only on outgoing calls on bluetooth (car audio): I can hear the person on other side talking, but that person cannot hear me. I switchover to handset or speakerphone and switch back to bluetooth, and the problem goes away. Both parties can hear each other and call proceeds without a problem.
This problem does not occur on incoming calls at all. I pick up using the button on car audio and the conversation happens without an issue.
The exact same issue occurs on all the builds I have tried: CM10.1 (both stable and nightly), Slimrom 4.2, Slimrom 4.3 nightly, Aditya's CM11 (tried at least 3 builds, currently running his build 12).
I did not see any mention of this by anybody else. Am I alone in facing this issue?
I have used both an android phone and a windows phone earlier on this car audio and this issue did not show up on those.
Thanks, folks. I would really love to fix this and continue to use this wonderful phone for a few more years!

It gets crazier
I just got my hands on a Sprint Galaxy Nexus (toroplus):
Weird: This exact issue (bluetooth outgoing call does not grab my side of the conversation until I switch the call to speaker/handset and back to bluetooth) happens on all the builds of CM10.2, CM11 and Slimkat.
Weirder: This DOES NOT happen on 4.3 stock rom (JWR67B) version of the software. I am unable to try and load stock rom to NS4G, so haven't tried this trick with that.
Weirdest: Now that I have isolated the problem to the CM (or its derivates in slim version), how is it even POSSIBLE that I am the only one experiencing this? I cannot find any mention of this issue anywhere in the net. Unfortunately, both my bluetooth receivers are the exact same model: pioneer DEH-4500BT. However, the fact that Galaxy nexus stock rom (and earlier phones, like Samsung Prevail or Lumia 521) work flawlessly deflects any suspicition on the DEH-4500BT's part.

Bluetooth wont answer incoming calls only?

Its always worked updated to Cm11 and now Bluetooth won't answer incoming calls. It picks up just no audio at all and they can't hear me. I place a call through the car or play music they work fine. Did a factory reset and install the latest build for Parandroid. Same issue. Now titanium did do a restore. Would this happen to bring something across if it was buggy on the bluetooth? I can make calls and control everything through the dashboard but just cant answer incoming calls. Tried another phone and works just fine. Anyway suggestions?
Lots of people with CM or ROMs based on CM are having this problem. check the development topics for Cm11, mastodon, aicp, Slim among others. Word is a developer has figured out the problem. Others have changed basebands and solved their problem, while others continued to have the problem. I ended up switching from aicp to liquidsmooth and I now can receive calls via Bluetooth.

I too am having the same problem using CM11 M10 on an S3 LTE. Also had the problem on M9. Please share any solution that you find works.
Folks having probs with incoming calls and any other incoming Bluetooth issue (eg music through external speaker) while on CM11 or CM11-based ROM (eg. AICP, Spirit). My understanding is that CM11 developers have determined the cause of the prob (related to the kernel) and that they are pushing down a fix in the current or upcoming updates.
You can also solve the problem by switching to a different kernel (this is the path I took with Spirit ROM... I switched to current BMS kernel). Make sure to use the correct kernel for your device.

Can't make calls: how to solve it?

Hello, I have a Gear S3 Classic BT with a Oneplus 3 (LineageOs, last nightly).
Everything works except for making/receiving calls, it just says something like "check device" when I rotate the bezel to accept a call and does nothing when I try to start a new one.
Is there a way to fix it?
For OP3 users on OOS: does it all work with stock rom?
I had exact same problem.I was using Lg g2 with custom cm 14 rom, when i tried to call someone or answering incoming calls gear just says "check device" and nothing happens.I tried many things but none of them have worked.Solution for me is going back to stock based rom.
Gone back to OOS, calls work. Not fine (bluetooth connection issues, it disconnects randomly), but at least it works.

Call audio problem

I have a G920F currently running rooted stock 7.0 and there seems to be some sort of a problem with call audio. The other side sometimes can't hear me. It's not microphone's fault. When I record the call I can hear myself and the other person but during the call my voice is choppy or non-existent.
With a headset everything works fine.
I also tested it on custom roms and on NexusOS 8.1 it works like nothing ever happened. The problem occurs on stock based roms.

In call microphone cutting off/out

Haven't seen a thread about this problem I'm having.
Basically while in-call, something seems to happen (I'm blaming the mic) where I can hear the person on the other end but they can't hear me. I've read up that this could be a lineage os bug. The thing is, it's not as if it cuts out from the start of the call. It happens randomly in-call and probably reboot to fix
- Happens on the most recent LOS14.1 based roms (I was on LOS14.1 then tried halogenOS, now on sultan's LOS14.1).
- I thought it could be a network issue. called a landline et my network seems fine.
- Full wiped and switched (LOS14.1) roms in case.
- I'm ruling out a hardware problem as I've had calls where it works all the way through, but it's hit and miss.
I'm thinking about switching to LOS15 rom(s) but I'm worried it'll turn out the same.
I'm not expecting a solution (apart from downgrading or going to good old outdated oxygenOS) but am I the only one here? Has anyone else had the problem at least once?
Thanks for your help

electronic noise static when trying to make a call using Bluetooth

My phone died so i pulled out my trusty tab 2 P5100 to use as a back up phone till i get a replacement. The tab was running Omni 4.4.4 but i was having issues with people not hearing me or visa versa but would work ok via a Bluetooth headset or speaker.
So i flashed Slim-espresso3g-6.0.1.build.2.1-STABLE-20170329-1833 with open_gapps-arm-6.0-nano-20180223 this fixed the calling issue and better sill could watch Youtube at 480p
but when i try to make a call via bluetooth there is a large amount of loud electronic noise and static making it impossible to here the ring tone or voices.
I have tried multiple roms for Slim, Omni, Bliss, Lineage,ASOP everything from 5.1 - 7.1 all have the same issue. if i go back to 4.4.4 it goes away.
Tried searching the forum seen post on needing to update the radio but nothing on how to do it.
Any help appreciated as i a loving Slim6 and do not want to go back to kitkat
