Wallpaper scaling issue? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Maybe I'm seeing things on my stock nexus [no Root, nothing] but I'm using the stock wallpaper and can't help but notice it looks off. The top right corner is 'clipped" it seems.
Wouldve thought more blue shows up in the corner

Hide Status Bar Bleeding in Gingerbread

As we know black notification bar of Gingerbread makes the led bleeding more noticeable in the corners. I for one don't notice it often but it IS still there in the left hand corner. The right side has minimal bleeding but it is hidden by the time display.
A solution to the left side bleeding is to download an app called Bar Control. It allows you to put any app of your choice into the left corner of the notification bar. The contrast from the icon(s) you place in that corner make the bleeding pretty much invisible. I find that I only need to place one icon to hide the issue but some may need 2 or more depending on how bad their's is. Worked out for me. I can look directly into the left corner and not see any leeding so I figure I'd share my experience. Hope this helps someone enjoy their phone a little more.
I'd like to learn how to theme for those like me who were a fan of the vanilla notification bar.
Appreciate the tip. Will give it a shot when I finally get a chance to flash CM7 as I have backlight bleed slightly in the left hand corner as well, though very minimal in the right hand corner.
Yea but whats worse, a barely visible bleed or a bright annoying icon?
Actually a great fix is one that is in EaglesBlood, where the top bar is 2-tone sort of like the Sense themes. The top tone destroys any visible signs of a backlight bleed and doesn't have a horrible icon just chilling there.
Well the icons don't bother me and its actually nice having the app u chose in the bar.

[Q] Edges of the home screen are darker than the middle

I just did a clean install of CROMi-X 5.3 and when I was setting it up I noticed that no matter whatimage I put as the homescreen wallpaper it looks darker at the sides of the screen. I never nticed this before and I think I would have since it is very noticable now. If I open any app the scren is perfectly bright all the way t the edge. Am I going crazy here or is this a known issue?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Jeff
I figured it out. It is a setting in the Apex launcher "Show shadows at the top and bottom of the screen" Only these were on the sides. Anyway it fixed the issue.

Major Screen Problems

Hey guys I've noticed a screen problem with my Samsung Galaxy S6. On my phone I can only detect it when using a black background/any image that is black. So I was swiping through my homescreen, and noticed a a color shift that would cover the sides of the icons. As I swiped back and forth through the different screens. I figured it was maybe the launcher I was using(I'm using nova launcher prime beta). So I switched back to the regular Samsung launcher and experienced the same problem. It's not a big deal but I think I'm going to get it replaced.

Actually I think I have the same issue. It particularly shows when scrolling in apps with dark (black) elements which border to another dark - but not black - (e.g grey) element.
For example in the 'relay for reddit' app with the night OLED skin enabled. The usual list background is black, while already visited links have a greyish background. if you scroll through the list, you notice that color shifting. I just did a quick video to demonstrate the issue. It is very difficult to see there though .

Is that a singular issue which would be solved by a replacement or is it a general problem? As this issue only is visible when black pixels become lit I assume it is a general AMOLED issue :-/

Transparent Bar At Top of Screen

Just got an S7 about a month ago, and it's all been smooth-sailing until this morning.
I was browsing through my gallery when I noticed a transparent bar at the top of the screen, where the Status Bar usually is (The Status Bar is hidden in the Gallery app when viewing pictures). This bar is consistent throughtout all apps on the phone, including on the home screen, and the notification bar. It's a different shade to the rest of the phone, with the look of the image "behind" the bar being distinctly different from that of the rest of the screen. I really don't know how to describe it. This is driving me crazy, because it's a new phone and I'm not sure if this is issue is software-related (an overlay of some sort) or a problem with the actual screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS: The phone has been dropped once, but it wasn't major enough to cause something like this to happen (I think).
EDIT: The transparent bar is exactly the same size as the status bar.
Sounds like burn-in, nothing you can do other than replace the screen
Happens to Amoled screens when you leave the same image in the same place on the screen for extended lengths of time / high brightness
It's what screensavers were designed for PCs back in the days of green screens
Sounds an awful lot like what happened to my moms phone recently and it took me a few minutes to figure it out. Maybe you accidentally took a screenshot and made that your wallpaper. So see if changing the wallpaper makes it go away.

grey lines at top of the screen with pure black wallpaper

So recently i started to notice that in my home screen (touchwiz or other launchers) at the top of the screen there is some grey lines it is best visible if i use a black wallpaper and set the brightness to the maximum. This doesn't show anywhere except on the home screen. I tried other wallpapers, and if i look at it in the gallery or turn on ultra power saving mode there is no grey lines.(my device is galaxy s6)
Does anyone know what it is? Or how to fix it?
(i hope you guys can understand me sry for my english)
So, if you switch to your pictures and images gallery, the lines disappear?
Did you drop your device on the floor or did it incurred any damages lately?

It's a common issue. It's stupid Touchwiz/Samsung system which creates a small overlay at the top of Homescreens (any launchers) & lockscreens. In gallery etc, it's perfectly black since no overlay.
I don't think there is a fix. U can use a slightly greyish instead of full black wallpaper. It's not a big problem though
Oh i understand. Thank you for help. I was thought my phone has a problem.
Sometimes the grey lines can appear in Samsung mobiles if you use a bad launcher or a theme which is not compatible with the phone. You can try updating to a new version and see if fixes the problem, or use a light gray wallpaper as already suggested. Another couple of things to try... take a screenshot of your phone and test it on your laptop to see if the lines are still there. If not then it could be a problem with the screen itself. It's also worth restarting your phone in Safe Mode as this mode only runs with pre-installed apps. If you don't see the lines then an app could be your culprit
