I often accidentally hit the volume down button on my phone. It's not a big deal if it goes to vibrate mode, but I never want it to go to silent mode.
Is there a way to completely disable silent mode on the phone?
Thanks!
This app will warn you periodically if your volume has changed accidentally

You can also remap the volume keys with it to perform other actions (such as open task manager, or go to Home) and open volume only with a shortcut.
Is there any way to change the functionality of the volume buttons in non-phone apps to control the system volume instead of the ringer volume? To me, only controlling the ringer volume is VERY limited when I want to soften but not completely silence the phone.
EDIT: Misread the question
Not that I know of.
I want to disable changing ringtone states with the volume buttons. For example, if I press it all the way down it'll go into silent mode and vibrate mode if I go one bar up.
I don't actually want that. I change the modes through the status bar. I want to use the volume buttons to just increase/decrease the ringtone volume, but not put them into silent/vibrate.
I was wondering if there was something to get the volume rocker to change depending on whether the screen is in portrait or landscape? I hate that when I am using my GNote in portrait mode that volume up is down on the volume rocker. Thanks.
Hi folks
I have an idea about ring modes and volume keys.
Is it possible to patch volume keys in cyanogenmod to switch ring mode without screen wake? Like it works to next/prev track with headset.
So, idea is to toggle mute/vibro and back to normal with long down/up volume w/out headset in sleep.
