Hi . i was running cm 11 nightly and I wanted to get back to the stock ROM so I backed up everything and it went well . after I got back to 4.4 stock I updated it to 4.4.2 but after the update the recovery was deleted so I used fastboot and flashed it again . when I rebooted it didn't ask me if I would like to install super su so I thought I was already rooted and everything was ok . but I dont have root premmission and I Dont know how to fix it . help please

You need to flash a rom or a root zip.
There's a rooting / unlocking bootloader sticky thread in general

Yes, the stock factory image. Flash in fastboot. It's not a zip though.
Sorry, i meant flashable zip for twrp/cwm, so if anything bad ever happens i can reflash the system in recovery

Here's one from the development forum...I think this might be what you're requesting... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47024308
[ROM] [KRT16M] Pure Stock // Odex + Deodex // UNTOUCHED (Nov. 18, 2013)

Ah cool. That'll do nicely!

It's not really much different from having a nandroid backup though. I assume you're trying to mitigate issues by flashing mods and breaking the ROM? Because that is the only thing this helps with and no more so than a Nandroid backup would.
It will not reproduce the magical healing effects of flashing a stock image via fastboot.
I like to have an emergency backup in case my normal backup has problems. Lol

I f you want a 100% Stock ROM from the link before, take the Odex version.
Thank! Was looking for this also.
As a n00b, I wanted a copy also just in case.
Hey guys my nexus is stock and its rooted with twrp recovery installed so can i just download the ota file of 4.4.1 and install it through twrp recovery or should i use adb???

Please always read the sticky threads in general before posting questions.
Read the OTA helpdesk sticky thread.
Why not just flash the stock rooted ROM Bigxie posted in the development section:what::what::what:

You can use helium to backup. Or use adb to do it also.
This is a good guide to unlock the boot loader and root

How will he get adb though? Surely he has to flash a recovery or kernel which requires unlocking the bootloader which then wipes the device?

I suggest using a toolkit like Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit.
You can create backups and install drivers with this tool as well as root and unlock bootloader.
I haven't used this tool to root and unlock bootloader, but I did use this to install custom recovery. Everything was automatic and easy because I didn't have to mess around with pressing buttons when rebooting. Just hit the button and let the program to its work.
Here is a video of someone using Wug's tool to root and unlock bootloader. Nexus 5 Easy Unlock Bootloader + Root + Custom Recovery
Thanks for the advice I take it I can't use the adb method to backup my device then? Helium looks good I'm going to look into that

SMS backup&restore is free from Google play that'll take care of the SMS just save the folder to your p.c before routing and unlocking

what version of twrp and what superSU release are you currently running?
Because you're using an old recovery not built on kitkat sources possibly...

make sure you're on the latest cwm (6.0.4.5) and superSU (1.86).
Hi
I'm having the same issue.
Stock 4.4.2 boot loader unlocked and rooted following this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507905
Installed superSU v1.86 and ClockworkMod v6.0.45
When ever I select reboot from CWM I get
'Root access possibly lost. Fix?
THIS CAN NOT BE UNDONE'
When I tried yes fix root I had to reflash the phone.
Any idea how to sort this ?
Thanks

You can turn it off with Philz recovery, which is cwm based

It can.
It's because you're using CWM and CWM is built on an older version of Android. I would recommend switching to TWRP.
How do you flash a recovery from within recovery ?
Also are CWM nandroid backups compatible with other recovery backups ?
Thx

You find the recovery packaged as a flashable zip and flash it via your current recovery, just as you would with any other zip. Then you reboot recovery.
CWM nandroids are compatible with Philz recovery, but not with TWRP.
Heres the zip: http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/hammerhead
Which is the better way to go Philz or RWRP ?

Its subjective. I have my favourite. Other people have theirs.
Cwm can only restore cwm backups. Twrp can only restore twrp backups. Philz does both but being cwm based, takes cwm backups but because philz can also compress backups, it means cwm may not be able to restore philz backups.
Just try them all.

You don't. You flash partition images through the bootloader (fastboot).

No, they only work with CWM and TWRP backups only work with TWRP.

I don't know about PhilZ Touch, but IMHO, TWRP is better than CWM.

you do know that all you had to do was go to Android development and you would of found what you are looking for and if its not rooted just flash SuperSu. No disrespect but you may need to do a little more research on how this all works prior to flashing anything..
