Hello. I was fed up with the fact that google play services would drain my battery alot and keep my phone awake most of the time. I used Privacy Guard (Or Apps Ops X), to disable WakeLock on every apps. I also disabled WakeLock on Android System and Google Play Services. Is there any risks in doing this ? What features will I loose ?
Thanks for helping ! Cheers.

My phone (Moto G running stock Android 4.4.2 rooted) NEVER ever gets into deep sleep because of these two deadlocks: GCM_CONN_ALARM and GCM_CONN.
I tried blocking them using Wakelock Terminator (either in Google Play Services or in Android System) but it doesn't seem to do anything at all, either with the keyword filter or the total filter.
The wakelocks only stopped when I disabled GcmService (using the Disable Service app), but now I don't get many notifications (Gmail, Twitter, WhatsApp).
Is there any solution in between? Thanks in advance.

Start uninstalling things like FB, whatsapp, viber, Twitter and so everything that may want to sync periodically.
See if you can filter out what is actually keeping the given service active, thus keeping your device awake.
As a last resort, factory reset and start over.
This popped up for me after using my alarm clock. Even after turning off the alarm, it still appears. Did you ever resolve the issue?
Nobody has a between solution? Not disabling it nor allowing it to hog our batteries..

Use Greenify in Boost mode (works with xposed)
Have you solved the problem? I'm also struggling with that wake-lock.
Use greenify and amplify with xposed framework that would reduce the battery consumption and with amplify you can control wakelocks.
Hello,
May be you have battery drain cause by Google Services ? Not sure ? Install BetterBatteryStats from XDA and check deep sleep state and check which app cause wakeup. Deep sleep must be higher.
To prevent Google Services cause battery drain and allow the device to retrieve a normal high level of deep sleep state, here the solution :
Not Rom AOSP :
- Install App Ops from Play Store and follow the same trick bellow.
Rom AOSP (CM11…) :
- Go to Privacy Guard (App Ops) under Privacy, in Systems settings.
- Show system apps
- For Google Play Services and Google Search, deny these two permissions :
- Wake up (set to denied)
- Keep awake (set to denied)
That’s all, welcome back to battery life
Please, press my thanks button if this helped you.
Hi All,
I am looking for any android apps which can help me schedule Turning Location Services ON & OFF. I have been using Profile Scheduler App which works brilliantly for all things expect GPS. I tried few other apps but they dont seem to work. Are there any recommended Apps for this..
I m getting bugged with the Draining Battery!

Tasker and Secure Settings. Tasker for the profiles, Secure Settings for the GPS control.
Hi,
Did anybony else run into this weird issue when TiBu Pro (official) never runs any scheduled job? I have the Canadian (SM-G930W8) Samsung S7 running stock 6.0.1, the latest firmware. The phone is rooted using SuperSU.
TiBu is installed as default, on internal memory (according to the official support page, this would be the only reason for TiBu to never run scheduled jobs).
I try running two jobs at 3:30AM while the phone is plugged in. One job is scheduled on Mon, Wed and Fri and Sun the other one on Tue, Thu, Sat, however no job ever started. I tried deleting the scheduled jobs and setting them again, wiping data, even uninstalling/reinstalling TiBu but nothing worked.
If I schedule the very same jobs anytime during the daytime, whether plunged in or not, regardless how far in the future (minutes or hours ahead) they just run!!!
During the night time I have "Do Not Disturb" mode on, triggered by time (at 10PM) and yes, I tried simulating that on my daily tests and guess what? ...TiBu runs.
Thanks!
The same for me.

Try this. Settings / Device maintenance / Battery / Battery usage (button) / click on 3 dots button / Optimize battery usage / Switch from "Apps not optimized" to "All apps" / now from the list of all apps turn off battery optimization for TB

This is a Galaxy S7 specific thread. Are you using another device?(Just wondering from your footer). The steps might be different for you, or there is some s7 csc without smart manager...
Hi,
Since i have Android Pie on my Oneplus 6 (8Go of RAM), i've noticed a very bad ram management.
Instead of a good multitask, apps close themself after a few seconds .
So when i wanna return to an app, the app restart from the beginning.
Am i the only one with that issue?
I'm on OOS 9.02, no root, locked bootloader.
Thanks
Happened to me too once, restarting the phone fixed it -_-
Restarting the phone fix it too for me , but the problem comes back a few hours later

Shocked to here this on a device with 6gig ram. I to have faced this since updated my pixel 2cl and Essential to pie. My least favorite of my phones the z2force is on 8.1 and apps stay opened all the time while still having better battery life with a smaller battery than both devices on pie. Anyway I found this thread Google searching this pie ram issue.
Settings, battery, optimization, advanced optimization turn all off. Of ur still facing issues, turn off optimization for the apps you want kept awake. OOS likes heavy doze
Even with all advanced optimization OFF, some apps still got killed after a while (minutes to hours, seems random).
So far I have experienced it on AccuBattery, Adguard, and Mi Band Tools. They all have notifications running, all in battery white list, Mi Band Tools even has notification access. It seems that their services get killed, but notifications stay (quite strange).
