Titanium Backup Pro never runs scheduled jobs - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hi,
Did anybony else run into this weird issue when TiBu Pro (official) never runs any scheduled job? I have the Canadian (SM-G930W8) Samsung S7 running stock 6.0.1, the latest firmware. The phone is rooted using SuperSU.
TiBu is installed as default, on internal memory (according to the official support page, this would be the only reason for TiBu to never run scheduled jobs).
I try running two jobs at 3:30AM while the phone is plugged in. One job is scheduled on Mon, Wed and Fri and Sun the other one on Tue, Thu, Sat, however no job ever started. I tried deleting the scheduled jobs and setting them again, wiping data, even uninstalling/reinstalling TiBu but nothing worked.
If I schedule the very same jobs anytime during the daytime, whether plunged in or not, regardless how far in the future (minutes or hours ahead) they just run!!!
During the night time I have "Do Not Disturb" mode on, triggered by time (at 10PM) and yes, I tried simulating that on my daily tests and guess what? ...TiBu runs.
Thanks!

The same for me.

Try this. Settings / Device maintenance / Battery / Battery usage (button) / click on 3 dots button / Optimize battery usage / Switch from "Apps not optimized" to "All apps" / now from the list of all apps turn off battery optimization for TB

This is a Galaxy S7 specific thread. Are you using another device?(Just wondering from your footer). The steps might be different for you, or there is some s7 csc without smart manager...

Hello, my battery was at 60 percent last night and this morning it is now at 30. I went in and looked at the battery data and Google plus was at the top of the list at 33 percent. Suggestions?
It's not normal, turn off location when you're not using it.

No need to list all your apps when you know Google+ is the culprit
There is an option within settings to sync photos over Wi-Fi only and while on charge, much more efficient unless you really need to backup all the time
Additionally for general gains, you could use another app to turn off data/Wi-Fi or toggle airplane mode overnight, unless you need it syncing while you sleep

Google+ isn't syncing photos because all of my photos are synced.
It was probably syncing something overnight though right? Worth having charging setting anyway
Ironic that an official Google app will have
e such a high wakelock...
Perhaps try something like greenify?

No because I flashed back to stock a couple days ago to reapply mods and haven't taken any pictures yet.. I have greenify so i'll watch my battery level and then use greenify if I need to. Still weird though. I also totally shut off location now (was on battery saving) so I'll see what happens overnight this time.

usual stuff:
hotword detectionn/off?
wifi scanning even when its offn/off?
rogue app?
higher up you can
install a wakelock detector and check which apps does the "batman"
would have been helpful if you had at least attached the screenshot of the battery stats.
Best hope: Install a wake-lock detector. Check for app.

Google+ will sometimes cause small wakelocks on my phone overnight as well. Although, it doesn't appear as bad as yours. If it doesn't "sync" overnight, I only lose 1-2% that night. If it does sync, it shows that it kept the phone awake for about 10min. But even then, I'll only lose about 5-7% that night (definitely not 33%). I, too, have it back up my pictures over WiFi. This wakelock is random. Sometimes it happens during the day, and sometimes at night. I doesn't really seem to correlate with me taking pictures that day or not.

It's only draining when you're at a home screen so while it's not consistent it will decrease SoT slightly. It only saves you from making 1 screen tap on the mic icon so the trade off is questionable.

Is it set to only sync when plugged in and on Wifi?
This time it went from 89 to 49, probably because in the morning I started getting notifications. Anyways Google plus is no longer on the battery list. Attached are screenshots of anything I think might be useful.

N° 2 Nexus 5 16gb : Battery problem

Hii,
I have n° 2 nexus 5 16 gb:
- 4.4.4
- everything stock
- restored defoult
- without application
- without settings configuration: they are the same original settings
- without sim card
- charged in same time from 0% to 100%
- the two phones are part of the same lot
- no wifi connection
- no 3g signal
I noticed an abnormal consumption using the 2 device, sooo:::
I tried to keep them on the table and the batteries are consumed in different ways:
After 1 hour, the first is still 100%, the second is 97%
after a about 3 day the first nexus is 40%, the second is at 1%
same screen on/off
please, what I can do?
Install GSAMbattery and check what's eating the battery
I have to install in bouth 2 nexus 5?
and after??

Installed and now ?????
I should be able to solve it by tomorrow because I need the phone for travel.
Otherwise I just have to throw the nexus 5 in the toilet (really) and back to the Apple Iphone.
If I have a problem Apple changes the cell in less than one hour.
With google I have to wait 40 days (bought in a mall).
Check what's using your battery, likely an app. Check for apps that have been held awake in app usage stats. You can then use greenify or appopsx to tame that app

Gmail, Google search etc are all apps, right? It's probably an app being kept awake by wakelock. Use GSAM Battery monitor to check what is eating up your battery
in 24 min I have battery at 95%
But the 2 nexus 5 are the same: is possible that the first N5 eat battery and the second N5 no?
In my experience with using nexus 5, the biggest culprit is most of the time Google search so I just use greenify and appopsX

2-after install gsam app see your wakelocks it should look like this
open app usage then stop apps that drain a lot of battery
in my case I would disable Google plus ,Google play stand

I don't know but this tips helps me I just want shear it with you ... may I ask you when the battery drain when you using it or when screen off ?
I have that:
Looking at your screenshot. It seems too soon to know the app causing that. You monitor it for a while or greenify or disable the apps that have been suggested.
Sorry sorry sorry ...... I need to repeat the problem
2 nexus 5, same in all (really all)
all stock
no sim card
the n5 are the same
same original settings after install 4.4.4
no root
original recovery
bootloader unlocked
If I put timeot display to 30 minutes:
after hours the first N5 have 100% battery , the second N5 have 90%
now......
I need to not generate the problem by original.... without other app because the 2 N5 are the same OK????

Battery drain after Oreo update?

So, after updating to Oreo, I noticed that my battery doesn't last long as when it was still in Nougat. I know full wipe is often the best recourse but I don't want to have to go through deleting all my apps and data and reinstalling them afterwards. That takes a loooooot of time. Anyone else who might be having the same issue? Also, any tips other than full wipe/factory reset would be much appreciated. Thanks!
i met the same issue also
before oreo, my phone battery was last long
when im gaming it almost take 6hour+ to drain off the battery
after updated it drain 40% within 2+ hours
so can i downgrade from oreo ?
somebody know what is the solution ?
Your device is probably learning how you use it (again) and I'd recalibrate the battery (let the battery die and charge to 100% with the device off)
I think you'll be back to normal after a few days
No issue here. My battery is just as good on Oreo, if not better.
Same here. Battery drains obviously faster. There's an app that obviously doesn't know how to behave with oreo.
No issues here, but I did a full wipe and start again fresh.. So far down to 42% at just on 4hrs SOT.. should easily get my usual 5.5hrs or there abouts
Guys always do a factory reset after a major update.
my battery was not good at android 7
but i flashed android 8 with newflasher
and turned on limited background activity and background data usage at app info for all of the system apps and other apps that support this feature.
my battery in android 8 has been perfect
and free ram is about 1.9 gb always

Of course you're 100% right but sometimes it's just too much work. In any case my update settled down very nicely after 2 days.:good:
I disagree 100% with the need to do a factory reset after an upgrade! What, are we on version 2 of Android??? By this time, and with what we pay for these devices (and don't think that the software is free because it's NOT) and with the fact that they have become essential tools for most people, we should NOT have to do a factory reset every time a new(er) version is released and thereby forced upon us! It is up to the OEM to test these things thoroughly to make sure they work as advertised and expected. I do not have an entire day to devote to getting things set up correctly every time this occurs. If the OEM's do not want to test things properly then they should give us the option of installing at our own risk, and not mandating the upgrade.
I agree with you guess my battery is way better now, keeping in mind I have lifelog app and live wallpaper running in the background the whole day, I love 30% since the last time I charged, 6 hours since I unplugged the device and I have 1,30 hours screen on. Oreo is perfect ?

Lobotomizing your phone like that beats the purpose of having latest n greatest functionalities from an OEM / Android. Although I wish there was a wakelock adjustment as a default setting w/o root. It all comes to personal preferences. I only limit background activities to apps I almost never use and I let the rest do their thing cause I like some of the google services and also some tasker profiles require a frequently updated context .
As for RAM, it is meant to be used and now android is smart enough to adjust the resource consumption on it's own without the need of a app killer which does a lot more harm.
Needless to say Google Assistant keeps on pushing it's Ok Google Anytime function down our throats. It's now easier to accidentally activate it and they did nothing to optimize the power use of that thing. I tried it thinking maybe it's usable now. But it actually managed to overheat the phone leading to ~10% battery drain/hour (just because i had tv shows playing and it was comparing the dialog to the hotword). Not 'Ok Google'.
Sooo make sure you have that disabled. Otherwise you're in for a nasty surprise in loud environments.
It's better, I would say.

BAd ram management since pie

Hi,
Since i have Android Pie on my Oneplus 6 (8Go of RAM), i've noticed a very bad ram management.
Instead of a good multitask, apps close themself after a few seconds .
So when i wanna return to an app, the app restart from the beginning.
Am i the only one with that issue?
I'm on OOS 9.02, no root, locked bootloader.
Thanks
Happened to me too once, restarting the phone fixed it -_-
Restarting the phone fix it too for me , but the problem comes back a few hours later

Shocked to here this on a device with 6gig ram. I to have faced this since updated my pixel 2cl and Essential to pie. My least favorite of my phones the z2force is on 8.1 and apps stay opened all the time while still having better battery life with a smaller battery than both devices on pie. Anyway I found this thread Google searching this pie ram issue.
Settings, battery, optimization, advanced optimization turn all off. Of ur still facing issues, turn off optimization for the apps you want kept awake. OOS likes heavy doze
Even with all advanced optimization OFF, some apps still got killed after a while (minutes to hours, seems random).
So far I have experienced it on AccuBattery, Adguard, and Mi Band Tools. They all have notifications running, all in battery white list, Mi Band Tools even has notification access. It seems that their services get killed, but notifications stay (quite strange).

Android 10: horrible battery life, downgrade to Pie?

Battery life on Android Pie was exceptional.
Dismayed by the drain on Android 10, incredibly fast. So far this seems to be linked to WIFI usage, e.g. when (i) downloading podcasts, (ii) calling on WhatsApp or Skype.
Are any of you downgrading to Pie because of this issue? Or have you found some clever settings to solve the problem?

Thanks to you i finally found that telephony-radio wakelock that always keep my phone awake, but the problem is, my signal is strong but it still waking up my phone :crying:
look at that too, maybe helps you for wifi settings via adb : https://www.androidpolice.com/2017/10/24/google-inexplicably-removed-keep-wifi-sleep-toggle-pixel-2/
also, you can using this app, works on android 9 + 10 : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=na.komi.piefi (we take back the three options wifi)
Close Google Location Sharing is the worst thing for any device - check your ruter again
(if we have rooted device,we can do a lot through buildprop for better battery management)
Personally, until now I have not battery problem on my op7 oos 10.0.1 gm57aa but I don't use social apps,WhatsApp etc...
I just recently bought my OP7, previous phone was the PocoF1.
For my usage I'd say battery life is pretty great!
I'm not rooted (yet) and I'm updated to the latest version of OOS.

Your dump file has less than 6h of recording time.
You have a very bad mobile signal:
Poor Signal (): 19 m 12 s 5.9%
Moderate Signal (): 3 h 38 m 9 s 67.1%
I had terrible battery life on Pie but as soon as I upgraded to 10 I probably get about 3 extra hours of out of it each day (depending on what I am doing.)
Quick question:
I have a full TWRP back from before upgrading to Android 10.
Are there risks of using that backup to go back to Pie that I should be aware of?

Yes it's risky. But it should be possible as follow;
1- Downgrade with the official *,zip file (search on oneplus.com)
2- Download (from oneplus.com) and install the latest pie *.zip rom package.
- After booting and setting up your phone, try to restore your twrp pie file.
I would recommend to do this after a research "how to downgrade from 10 to 9". So you would have a clear owerview & better understanding.
As always, do a backup first.
