Kernels compatible to Stock 4.4.2? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As the title suggests, unfortunately I have not yet figured out what kernels are compatible for those who like me, has the stock 4.4.2 with root and TWRP. Please all I need is also a list of links to kernels that go well with my stock.
Thank you!

franco kernel, checking in

Please ask questions in q&a not general.
Im not aware of any kernel that was stopped before 4.4.1
Go to "android development" all the kernels are there

Ok perfect ... just ask anyway in the post!

All you do is go to android development and look at threads that start [kernel]. Theyre all there and they all work on stock unless they say cm in the title.
Its more practical than us listing them everytime someone asks.

and original development as well. youll see less cm kernels there.

Faux123, flar2, franco etc. are suitable candidates

Thank you all, you can close. At best, I will ask in the right section. Thank you again.

You can just look in the threads. It takes like 5 minutes to go read the original post of all the kernels.

Finally found the right one, thanks to all!

As long as they're built on the stock kernel, they can be used in place of it.

Forum Guidelines/Welcome To The Galaxy Note 2 Forum - Introducing The Moderation Team

Hi all,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my user name is original_ganjaman. I have been assigned to moderate this forum along with reinbeau, oka1 and bigjoe2675. Together we form the moderation team.
Our goal is to keep this forum as clean and easy to find what you need as quickly as possible. We ask you to help us by posting in the correct sections.
Please only post ROM Development, Hacks, Mods, Fixes and Tutorials in the development section, all questions go in Q&A. This prevents the development section getting clogged up by irrelevant posts.
If you see any thread that is in the wrong section or if you see any questionable posts, please don't hesitate to click the report (

Question:
What is the difference between Galaxy Note II: Android Developement and Original Android Development.
I see all custom roms so what's the difference?

Generally speaking, if its a device first and its built from source, then it belongs in the original development section. Those ROMs based off the "originals" go in the development section. There are a few exceptions, but thats the general rule.

Go in to dolphin settings and enable flash content, for some reason it is set to default off position. Hope this helped and happy Christmas!

What DPI for tablet mode in apps?

Got a nexus 5 on the way and am curious what DPI to use to trigger tablet mode in apps that support it. Thanks.
Sent from my Nexus 7
Less than 280 however with xposed framework + "app settings" module, you can just change the layout of apps individually to tablet without having to change the dpi.

Either you're doing something wrong or doing it on an app with no tablet layout

There are 2 things here. Tablet mode and Tablet layout. Both are different so lets differentiate between the them.
Tablet mode - system ui. Different notification area / status bar configuration. Google have removed this from android, presumably to create a more cohesive experience
Tablet layout - individual apps written by developers can identify if they're installed on a tablet and invoke a tablet layout that is better for bigger screens.
Now I have no idea what PA are or are not implementing but for settings to go into tablet layout, the settings apk will need substantial modification

Installing apps to otg usb.

Is it possible? I purchased the grand theft auto vice and a few final fantasy ones. And we ask now how much space those take up.
And if it isn't currently possible, what are the possibilities of getting that feature in the future (whether it be through official Google means or through xda dev means)

Yes, I do it with FolderMount application. HOWEVER, you must use ROM or kernel (Madhi ROM, Chaos Kernel) that first supports automount of OTG. using Stickmount etc is not an option.
I use FolderMount and Chaos kernel. Works great.

ok i have folder mount (bought the pro version) and am running chaos kernel. The game i would like to run off the sd card is grand theft auto vice city (which i got for free off the amazon app store while a promotion was going on). while i can mount the data folder the game uses, i cant figure out how to move the actual 1.3gb apk file.
Its not an apk that's big. /sdcard/Android/obb
Personally I recreate the folder in there to where I want the data then mount in foldermount and move.

No, and you won't be able to.
Its just /sdcard/Android/data and /sdcard/Android/obb, which actually is where almost every game stores their large files. GTA SA for example has over 2GB in there

[Q] Need some serious help on Android L

I know it's supposed to be just a developer's preview, but I noticed 2 bugs that are driving me up a wall and I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I'm running Pure-White-LigthNesS-LPX13D 10-18-14
with the kernal 3.4-g323bbd9 or N5_+LPX13DModifiedKernal
1. My videos are GREEN, I feel like that's kernal related but I'm not sure, need some help there.
2. My Mac refuses to transfer anything to my device, it with be 10MB into transfer and all of the sudden it cannot recognize the device. MTP is on, USB Debugging is not. I've watched videos on it and it's not helping.
Can anyone point me to a thread that has some solutions or would like to answer one or both of my questions, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING!
