[How To] Install The New GOT Update On Milestone

Hello My Friends I've Heard You Are Having Troubler Installing The New Upgrade Or Understanding What Is Needed To Be Done.
Note: THIS IS A WINDOWS BASED HOW TO AND WILL WORK ON WINDOWS ONLY​
Before I Start I must Say, This Is a combination of process and I have not created any of those files or own the right to them so all the links are the same links found on other posts from where i got the info, so by downloading those files you are, supporting them not me i take no credit for this work
Well Here Is the quick Easy Guide In How To Do This
-Fist we Need To Get The Tools To Perform This Operation

EDIT: G.O.T. Has Added the burnerable open recovery to these sfb files so no need to flash it latter
-Now That We Have The Stuff We Need We are going to do it, fist i must say that unlike other roms that are applied by a backup restore (corect me if im whrong) this is a full flash and its going to reset everything so no apps will remain no setting will remain and is highly recommended that you uninstall every app you have, don't back them up(except for apps some apps that have a create backup file, those seem to work) just uninstall them, and when we are done have them installed again, Here Is A Tool That Will Help You Get There Faster
1.ok you have everything uninstalled right? now time for some action
2.install the proper divers (32 or 64)
3.install the RSD Lite tool
4.unzip the 2.2.1 FIRMWARE FILES you downloaded and you will find a ".sbf" file
5.now connect your phone to USB cable and turn it off
6.boot it in boot-loader mode (press the D-PAD UP key while pressing the power button), some night need you to release the button after a minute, a black screen will be shown on your phone and you will see the divers being installed on your computer.
7.when drivers are done open the RSD Lite tool and your device should appear you can click on it to see details.
8.now click on the "..." buttons that are close to the start button and look for the ".sbf" file, after a couple of seconds it should be ready to start
9.press the start button and do not unplug the cable or let your computer show the screen saver or go to sleep, the posses must not be stopped while it has started .
10.when the posses is done the devise will restart and voala, you have 2.2
-As GOT stands there are some bugs on the firmware and they have developed a fix to them and get root and overclock, here is what you have to do.
1. unzip the got open recovery tool into the root of your SD card
2.check this quote
NOTE: On some devices, we have encountered that rooting directly after flashing without rebooting after the initial flash can bring some issues with RootExplorer not asking for root permissions. To be safe, reboot after flash so that the “welcome to milestone” menu comes up, set up the device in general, then reboot to recovery and root the device as well as apply our 2.2.1 tweaks with Launcher, Services.jar fix and Wireless Tethering app.

this means if the fist time your milestone got restarted and you saw "Welcome to Milestone" Message You are good an you can root.
but if you didn't then restart you phone and see if the message comes out, if not , a factory reset should have that scree message shown.
3. open the open recovery by pressing camera and power button at the same time while the device id off. you should see a scree with a "!" symbol on it then press fist volume rocker up button a leave it pressed then press camera button, some letter will pop out.
4. using the pad scroll down to "apply update.zip", after a couple of seconds the GOT menu should pop out (everything from now on uses the pad)
5.root your phone (why not)
6.go down to "Launch 2.2.1 Menu" Option.
7.Here you will see the "Fix Bugs They Are Talking About
One of the first things you should do is use the “Fix 2.2.1 bugs” selection in the new OR 2.2.1 menu after you flash the sbf file.
This tweak will fix some of the issues with the generic sbf build such as dual USB notifications, replacing some stock Motorola applications such as the old launcher/mediagallery and adding the Wireless Tethering application.

Now your device should have all the things you need to start playing with it,I encourage you to check on some tweaks the GOT team might have, and you might want.

-Back your android ID up, and put ir somewhere safe
-follow the guide to update to froyo

-invent a number that might serve as your android ID (you need numbers and letters)
-input it on the app

okay nice tut, butttttt... im stuck at the part where i should install openrecovery. at first, to come to the "!" screen, camera screen + power did not work. i got there by pressing X + Power... but now i dont know how to access the menu where i should install update.zip..
please help!

okay i got it, im so sorry, i used the up button on the dpad

Also I did not see a launch 2.2.1 menu option. But I have currently launched the GOT open recov without an issue. I have rooted as well as many other things but didn't see that specific menu.

Silly question are you suing the newest version?
if you press down should on the open recovery menu it should be your sixth option, I have recorded a video about it this morning but its backwards I'm Going To Try And Have it Fixed and up today hopefully

your Should use the rom depending on which band your phone has
German milestone should work with Europe ROM
under setting about phone check the Build Number
and look for that same number in here

hi there. i have instaled europe GOT_RTEU_2_2_1FULL.zip version and now sometimes my touchscreen does not work. i mean that if i put the phone in standby and i try to unlock the touchscreen is not responding. i have to power off/on to make it work again. thanks in advance

Facebook app wont Synch with my contacts on first launch of FB app.

My milestone works fine so far, but 3g mobile hotspot and wireless tether not working.
Flash on milestone is so cool

something i don't get
I updated the firmware with RSD Lite, and used the one click tool, because:
whenever i try to hit update.zip i will get an errormessage, stating that these blocks couldn't be found -> ergo, the card not be mounted.
The HTC stuff i always managed, but this one is a mistery to me. Also, i did format fat32, pushed the stuff and then straight on bootup trying to hit the update.zip, without success.
I've read about how other people solved that problem, none of those approaches helped me.
Any hint is more than welcome.
2 bugs i've discovered so far: Battery drain like almost to be declared useless, some market apps "vanish" after installing them. I suppose those fixes would have done the job. I might attempt to use root explorer and execute the scripts like that, still I'd like to know why I'm unable to get the update.zip, resp. the G.O.T or any other "intelligent" boot menu installed.
Edit2: Even when installing the vulnerable sbf, i still get the error: E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 ....

This could be for any reason try this
-Re download and re flash the files(do the whole thing again)
-there is an app i have called sd dual mount that makes my screen go crazy wen i connect the phone to an usb port, it was stable on 2.1 but now goes crazy on 2.2 check some of your apps to ensure they are not the ones responsible for this

you can try and uninstall the wireless teeter app an have it reinstalled that should sort it out

have you tried re downloading the files and doing all over again?, it could be a broken file
thats why i tell devs and chefs they should add an MD5 sum to their files larger than 20MB some errors are caused by just having downloaded broken files

Superuser whitelist app FCs instead of prompting to allow access. Have tried using Better Terminal for root access & also Wireless Tether app.
Anyone else getting this? Any ideas? Do any of the 1-click root apps still work with this build of Froyo? Which can we use?

i can confirm this. Simply trying it a second time worked for me

I'd like to add something for Linux users:
Using a virtual machine (virtualizing WinXP) that has USB support (eg Oracle VM VirtuaBox, since VirtualBox OSE does not support USB forwarding) can do this pretty easy. So no worries when trying this via a VM.

i try to instal GOT and its succesfull.
but why i install the application not bring to SD card
but still bring to internal memory
many said 2.2 automatic have app2sd

LG AS730 (L7 Variant) Rooting / Unbricking / More

LG Optimus Select (LGAS730)
I figured since there really isn't any information on my device, I'd write up some useful information for anyone who has Revol/Alltel and wants to trick out thier phone with root goodness.
I wrote this up at 3 in the morning, so if there's any typo's I'll get to them in the morning
Before anyone roots their device, be aware that our phone has a locked bootloader + System App Checking,
which means if you remove certain system apps, you will be greeted with a "Security Error" message on system start,
resulting in a shiny new brick.
So, as of now, I don't recommend deleting any apps until:
A) We figure out how to unlock our phone and disable the checks or
B) There is a list of safe apps to remove.​
Rooting your LG Optimus Select:
I was previously using the universal ICS/JB root method found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
But it seems that an update might of broke the exploit.
I hate promoting this program because it uses stolen code/it's garbage but it works. (Unlockroot Pro Free)
Just download > Install > Uncheck the boxes to all the toolbar spam > Run > Root > Say no to the powersave crap
I would instead promote SuperOneClick which should work aswell, but it kept freezing for some reason.
Key Combinations:
Power + Vol up + Home = Recovery
Power + Vol Down + Home = Factory Reset
Vol Down + Up / Then plug in USB = Emergency Mode
Downloading the .cab for your LG phone:
1. Find your LG phone model and serial number. [You will have to take out the battery to find the serial number/]
2. TYPE in the following URL or COPY AND PASTE (do not click on link it will not work) it in the URL Line: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/svc/po...eck.jsp?model=[model]&esn=[serial_number]
Now replace the [MODEL] and the [SERIAL NUMBER] with your phones model and serial number.
3. Hit enter to load the page. Now the page should be blank less a string. In order to view the information you have to view the page source code:
a) On Firefox: Tools --->Web Developer --->Page Source (Cntrl + U or Cmd + U)
b) On Safari: Right click blank area anywhere on the page, select View Source in the menu.
c) On Internet Explorer: View --->Source
d) On Chrome: Click Customize and Control at the right of URL Line --->Tools --->View Source
4. Find the number inside <ESN></ESN> line.
5. Type in the following address in the URL Line: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b...heck2.jsp?esn=[esn_number]
6. Replace the [esn_number] with the number you got from the first source code.
7. Load the page which should be blank again and just view source code using the above mentioned method.
8. You will then see all of the information about your particular phone including your firmware update link which would lay between <SW_URL></SW_URL>.
9. Copy the URL into your URL Line and hit enter. The download should start automatically.

2) Once installed, open it, and click Install USB Drivers > Other Carriers > LGAS730 > Double Click and install
3) Install KDZ_FW_UPD http://www.2shared.com/file/s1ZPxEPL/KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.html (Make sure to install msxml.msi first)
4) Download the the most current .cab for your phone (Method can be found above)
5) Rename .cabs to .kdz
6) Run KDZ as an Administrator > Click the little folder > browse for the .kdz you just renamed
7) Put your phone in Emergency Mode (Vol Down + Up / Then plug in USB = Emergency Mode)
8) Click Launch Software Update
9) You're phone should be working now!

Rooting does work. I also have installed Google Now but for some reason the logcat says 400 Bad Request when attempting to login, so you get the Offline Voice Recognition, Online Voice Recognition, Google Search, but no Cards for some reason.
On another note: It does seem that it only checks that the files still exist, I replaced a number of files in /lib with their Google Now versions and it hasn't made any complaints, the same goes for replacing GoogleTTS.apk (which doesn't work for some reason, we don't get the Google Now TTS, but that doesn't matter as much)
Overall, I'd have to say that I believe the bootloader doesn't check the CRC32 checksum, rather it simply checks that the files still exist.
EDIT: I redact my previous statement about Google Now not working right, it does :3 Just needed to remove and re-add my Google account.
UPDATE:
Another trick is to enable USB Mass Storage Mode:
To do so, Install DriveDroid from the Market. (You can either use disk images to separate your data from the SD Card or use the trick below)
Enable USB Mass Storage as directed by the application (within it's settings)
Plug and Unplug your phone with DriveDroid closed (Do NOT press any of the connectivity options when they appear, they should all be unchecked)
If all goes well, the USB Mass Storage Mode application built into Android will startup and your Phone will mount on your PC. (It doesn't seem to happen 100% of the time, so just toy around, it does work.)

So I just got this phone (I'm moving over from a Samsung Fascinate), And so far I'm loving it. It's was smoother the GPS is way more Accurate ! But I do have one qustion. What System Apps are safe to remove ?

That's great, I just noticed in the Optimus L7 thread that their boot loader has been unlocked, was wondering if someone could test this patch with our device as its an L7 variant. According to the threads, its possible to enter emergency mode if a soft brick happens. If anyone's courageous enough to try, please report back. I'd try but I can't afford to replace my phone if something happens to the point that I can't access emergency mode.
Edit: its worth noting that if it does work, we could use the online CWM builder to build a recovery for our device then work on a custom ROM.

Sorry for the no responses, I hadn't been able to do anything else with the phone after we got root working. Unfortunately now I no longer have the device and now have the VZW LG G2.

I also have recently moved to another service provider and a new phone.
But I still have it laying around somewhere, I might mess around with it, maybe try to get CWM working.
Also, I've gotten quite a few PM's after my long absence from XDA for the .cab
I'm assuming since a new firmware release, they've probably taken down the old link.
There was a program I had found which generated the URL based on any LG phone serial, I'll try to find it and post the application which would be 10x more beneficial along with a current .cab.

Hey, I realize this thread is over three years old now, but are you still able to help? I followed all of the instructions to get the phone back to stock, but it can't extract the kdz file. I used UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe to convert the cab to kdz, and KDZ_FW_UPD.exe is telling me "Extract file error." Any idea why or how to fix it? Thanks!

I have found some instuction on cz sites but it didnt help... my problem is: windows can not recognise phone driver, but only in USB debugging mode... any idea why?
And I have problem with Google play. I can not install some app which are using my current location... ex PUTRAN.... This APP Is For public transport...

ROOTING
So i finally have an opportunity to translate instruction how to root PAP5000Duo
instuction are only for PAP5000DUO version! Not for PAP5000TDUO!
EVERITHING YOU ARE DOING IS ON YOUR OWN RISK

3) turn on unknown sources
4) turn on USB Debuging
5) Unzip file with script

8) after openig window choose options 1. normal
9) after "click RESTORE" will appear on PC, on phone confirm "restore my data!
10) after 2 restars of phone, which will go automaticly shold phone start normally and app SuperSU will be installed

I'm using Prestigio 5000 duo and this method does not seem to work for me. Mostly the script remains in the infinite loop, sometimes it said it completed however there was a mount - no permission error and no rotting was done.
I also tried MTK tools without any luck. Is there any other way?
My version is: PAP5000DUO.V20130419.V1.0.10
Please help! I'd like to create a backup (install CWM) and fix the jumping wifi mac address bug. (apply custom mac address). Rooting is needed.

It seems like I have JB 4.1.1. and this one works for 4.0 only. I'm looking at this solution ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245259 ) but I haven't been brave enough to start it as I first tried to read back the recovery from the phone before flashing the new, it does not work (0% does not move). Also when I cat the proc/mtd file in abd shell it returns an empty list.

Now I was able to read back but cannot download the recovery: SP Flash Tool Error 8038. I have Prestigio PAP5000Duo.
I have MTK6577 scatter file (MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt). Should I press upgrade instead of download? Will it work with only a single recovery file?

OK, I figured out it myself. The process did not work with the scatter file that was provided with the recovery image. Using MTKDroidTools it was two clicks to create one. (/prec/mtd was empty, that was a nogo).
Now it works. Unfortunately mac address changing does not work even with root. I get random every time. What a pity...

So did anyone finally found out how to root it without any problems? Could someone pls post a video tutorial on youtube? I need that RAM memory it's crashing too often, and battery is draind really fast and I have the phone for about 4 weeks only. And I'd like to update kernel and do other things with franco kernel updater. (Look on google play-costs few bucks).

What to do with PAP5000T? Need more RAM. It's always in red,need 200 mb RAM more.

this guide for who is coming from stock rom or who want to turn back to stock rom

to download fill the box near of z5s_nubia.zip, ower the line you will see more section, click on it and chose download, unzip anywhere. in the folder there is a Nubia-en.bat file, click on it and follow instructions
you can root, flash cwm or original nubia recovery.
(you can find seperate guide for root and cwm after pictures)
ROOTING:
a) firstly activate, Settings> Developer Options> USB Debugging (fill it)
if you cant see developer options in your settings so go settings>about phone>build number and click on it 7-8 times, now you can see Developer Options
b) connect your phone to pc, you will see a window on your screen of pc about drivers, enter the directory and install drivers, later unconnect phone and restart pc
c) download vroot and install to pc

d) from start>all programs, find vroot and start it as a click on it
e) connect your phone to pc, wait until vroot find your device
f) on vroot window you will see ROOT word, click on it and wait until finish. İF YOU SEE ALERT ON YOUR PHONE SELLECT YES TO LET ROOTİNG
now your phone is rooted
INSTALLING RECOVERY
a) download cwm recovery to your pc:

Hi Thanks for the instructions,
I just got my phone updated and everything seems fine. However I can not get any GPS signal using google map and was wondering if you know a fix. Any help will be much appreciated.

Can we still get the OTA update with this Rom ?
And if i do the update then, will i loose root ?

this is the latest version, zte will publish 4.4.2 rom, not any update for 4.2.2 anymore.
if you loose your root you can manage it easly again

I also have trouble with GPS - sometimes it works good, sometimes it looses signal frequently (with GPS test - i see it drop from using 10 sattelites to zero in less then a second...)
Is the GPS zip file you posted the same as if i use the APK GpsFix ?( i tried a lot of programs and put different GPS Conf. files but none of them solved my problem)

You wont loose your settings. This zip replacing gpsconf file. You can do with root explorer too. İ offer load gpstest apk, in app settings there is a reset gps sections, reset it before flash zip

Solved! Unlocking the Bootloader and Rooting Oppo A71 CPH1717 (MT6750)

Hi everyone I just found out a way recently on how to unlock the bootloader without losing data and root Oppo A71 Cph1717 ,but just in case please i encourage you to backup your phone before doing this, i tested this with my own phone and it works so now lets start!!!
1) download and install latest python (ensure to tick the checkbox Add Python x.x to PATH) ------>https://www.python.org/downloads/
2) download and install preloader driver -----> https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9...dUE/view?resourcekey=0-TN-5Ipeegh7SowX4sduz_g
3) download the latest MTK-client zip --------> https://github.com/bkerler/mtkclient
4) unzip the mtk-client and open the CMD or Powersell inside the extracted MTK-client folder
5) enter the first command -----> python setup.py install ,and wait until the process is done
6) after the installation is done enter the second command ----> pip3 install -r requirements.txt ,wait until the process is done.
7) Now this is the part to where you are going to unlock the bootloader of your Oppo A71
8) enter command -----> python mtk da seccfg unlock it will wait for the phone to be connected
9) Now power off your phone, connect the small part of the usb cable in your phone, hold both up and down volume button and connect the another end of the usb cable to the computer and you will see the process starting after the process is done boot up your phone and the VIOLA!!! you have unlocked your bootloader without losing any data!!,when you see a warning ( your device has been unlocked and cannot be trusted , your device will boot in 5 seconds....) dont worry its very normal , Now lets hop in on how to root your oppo a71 .
Second Rooting your Oppo A71 CPH1717
1) download latest magisk apk and install it on your phone
2) download your stock rom in your PC -----> https://oppostockrom.com/oppo-a71-cph1717
3) and extract the stock rom in your pc
4) now go to developers option of your phone and enable usb debugging and select the type of connection and select MTP while connected in pc
5) copy the extracted boot.img in your internal storage
5) now open magisk app and select install (you can select Preserve AVB option if you want ) then select next and press the Select img and select the boot.img that you copied fron the PC and then press lets go option
6) wait until the patching is done
7) after the process is done, now copy the magisk_patched.img in the pc ( you can find it in your internals download folder)
8) now create a folder in your pc name it Root flash
9) move the magisk_patched.img in the folder that you created and rename it boot (no extension and other things )
10) copy the scatter file,preloader.bin from the extracted stock rom in to the folder that you created (root flash folder)
11) download sp flash tool ------>https://spflashtool.com/download/ ,and unzip it in your pc
12) open the sp flash folder and open flash tool.exe
13) now see scatter-loading file option and click choose go to the created folder( root flash folder) and select the scatter file
14) now untick the preloader but not the boot
15) click the download button , power off your phone ,connect the small part of the usb cable to your phone ,hold the up and down volume button then connect the another end of the usb to the Pc
16) wait until the flashing is done you will receive a green check in the screen ,disconnect your phone from the pc and turn your phone on and VIOLA!!!! your Oppo a71 CPH1717 is now rooted you can check the magisk app if its installed or install root checker
if i did something wrong pls feel free to tell me
PS: only follow this instruction that i created on how to unlock bootloader if your phone is Oppo A71 CPH1717 because if you follow another tutorial for unlocking the bootloader of this phone TRUST me it will going to be fu*ked up!!!!
BTW if you didn't enable the (Allow OEM unlock, but to be sure please enable it) option don't worry its ok trust me ,you can see it too in my screenshot.
you can refer to the screenshots below from my phone for the evidence , i hope this helps others.

as i can see in the video its legit he really unlocked,root and install twrp(which i have it too) in the oppo phone but the only thing thats difficult is he uses a test point and to do that you need to open the phone and some tools to do that which is hasle and hard while in my method i directly unlock it you can see in the vid he uses something to activate the test point but in my case i didnt, i just connect my phone and enter the commands and let the tool do the magic we both use the same tool but the only difference is he uses gui version and im using only command prompt version both version of tool is good but for me command prompt version is stable

thats kinda normal ,well yeah im facing the same problem right now but apparently there is no way we can remove that thing i searched every where but no luck but there is a method to remove that but the requirment that it needs doesnt met by our phone, this method needs Edxposed with we cant use because we need our phone to run in android 8/8.1 or higher i tried it with xposed framework but no luck i cant open the app because its not meant for the phone for now im thinking to to build a custom rom to fix this problem i dont know if this is possible but i found something in internet that got my attention im thinking to build (Resurrection remix 7 android 9) because it has a source code but it might take a while because im still studying it for now my twrp is on stanby for flashing and trying any rom that would fit for my phone

does your baseband isnt working too? if only your imei you can fix it using modem meta or sn write tool i have the same problem null imei here you can try this tutorial

you can fix the unknown baseband easily using Zarchiver grant root access then go to ROOT/data/nvdata then delete all the files inside it then after reboot them check if it work because it works fine in me while in the case of the null imei you can only fix it using tools like SN writer or Modem meta

yes its a folder justv go to root/data/nvdata then go inside it then delete all files inside it
