[Q] Jiayu G3S suddenly died?? - General Questions and Answers

Greetings,
I have a jiayu G3S QUAD CORE MTK6589. I have been using it for over 6 months with no problem. The phone came rooted and i was happy with the ROM it had, so i didn't try to change it.Suddenly today the phone could not wake up.I removed the battery and put it back but no changes. The only way for the phone to wake up is to plug it to my pc.When i do that, i get the jiayu logo and after a while the battery charging image.I have tried to enter recovery mode, but i get the dead android with the red triangle sign.If i press the "volume down" button i get the factory mode, which is in chinese and doesn't do anything(i can move up and down but select nothing).
Here is the translation of that:
工厂模式(Gōng chǎng mó shì)=factory model
完整测试(Wán zhěng cè shì)=complete testing
单项测试(Dān xiàng cè shì)=single testing
测试报告(Cè shì bào gào)=test report
清除e MMC(Qīng chú e MMC)=Clear/Remove/reset e MMC
版本信息(Bǎn běn xìn xī)=Version Information
重启手机(Chóng qǐ shǒu jī)= restarting the phone
I have tried flashing this ROM
needrom.com/mobile/jiayu-g3s-2
and everything seems to be completed correctly but there is no change to my phone's condition.
Can anyone please help me with that?Is there maybe a way to install the OS from the scratch?
Thanks in advance
I have to answer my own question:
It is kinda stupid but the problem is somewhat solved. This is what had happened:
The power button was damaged!!! so when my phone turned off from battery i couldn't turn it on.Trying to put it to recovery mode and seeing the dead droid made me think that the os had crashed, so i tried to flash a new rom.The phone though wouldn't turn on (at that time i didn't know the button was not working) so i thought that sth was wrong. After flashing new rom for more that 20 times with all versions of sp tool and all roms i could find in needrom, the phone turned on!!!!But i had forgotten to put back my sd card.So i tried to turn it off and found that sth is wrong with the power button.I teard the phone apart and found that there in not good contact at the button film-cables.So i will have to do some soldering on that or order a new button...The good news is that through this I got familiar with all? the methods that i need to know for android.
So to sum up
IF THE PHONE DOESN'T TURN ON, CHECK THE POWER BUTTON FIRST!!!

[SOLVED]Bricked phone

Hi I want to know how can I unbrick my Samsung galaxy s 4g. I believe I bricked because now when I turned on only stock in the logo. Please can you help me with this. I'm leontx's wife. Thanks
If it's just showing the logo and it's there for over 15 minutes, you'll probably need to reflash something.
I'd suggest using one of the one-clicks from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19601810&postcount=2 and I'd probably suggest the second (Basic with a Twist) choice.
First, you need to get the phone into download mode. Easiest way to do that is to unplug USB cable, pull the battery out, plug the battery back in, and plug the phone back to the computer. Hold the volume buttons on the left and turn on the phone (while holding down the buttons). It should ask you if you want to go into download mode. Press volume+ to confirm, then unplug the phone from your computer and plug it back in (to make the computer realize that there's a device there). Now run the one-click to reflash your phone. If the flash fails, restart the phone and try again. If the phone reboots to a screen showing a little phone and a yellow warning sign, perfect... just flash it again. That's the alternate download screen, and I get it everytime I use Heimdall/Odin/Kies to flash it.
couldn't get into download mode
Hello, thanks for you help,I'm trying to fix my wife's galaxy s after she wiped and factory reset the phone when tried to recovery by herself. Now the phone is stock in the galaxy s 4g logo forever,I tried to get into recovery or download mode but i couldn't.She told me that the phone was giving her a error message about the keyboard app, then she removed the batt and put it back, the battery showed her almost dead like 1% when was like 79% few seconds before, then she called t-mobile and the person told her to do the recovery mode with the bottoms, she did it and the person ask how much batt the phone had, she said 79%.then the person sugested to full charge the batt, and call them(tmobile) back.So here we go... lol:laugh:.She tried to fix it and got into recovery mode and wiped and factory reset the phone,I dont know what she was doing and removed the batt to reboot the phone.and here we are now. When try to get into download mode the pc not recognize it say USB device not reconognized and the phone just show a loading logo but nothing happen.I just want to know if is possible to fix this or toss it,the phone is rooted with a custom rom,I tried with another batt but the same results.Im realy want to recover this phone to give it to my mother in law thank you so much

i soft brick may phone yesterday, i use to flash my current rom and then reflash it again [clean flash] i just reflash it to save my game replay..
if you can boot into recovery mode, reflash your current rom and then backup and wipe everything exept sdcard then flash again.
Sounds like the battery crapping out on you & crashing while it was doing something important. Usually, a factory reset and new battery can fix. But, If the reset failed, it's not a biggie. find any of the one clicks that you might like to try (lumin30 has a awesome guide/thread w/ links). Batteries are cheap. Sometimes they will swell up when they die. If it spins easy when placed on flat surface is an easy check. There are a couple threads with links to 10 buck replacements around too.
Sent from my NookTablet using xda app-developers app
eureka !!!
my phone is alive.I could put it in download mode by removing the batt, put it back then holding both volumes bottoms, then connecting the phone to my pc(USB),no power bottom.and voila after putting this in download move everything else is piece of cake thank yall.

A whole lot of problems with Xperia J - please read

Yesterday, I started unlocking my bootloader on Xperia J ST26i in order to eventually finish with installing ParanoidAndroid 3. It all went successful until I got to the last step of rooting the device. This - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183737 - is the method I used. I was confused when I got to step 16, because the kernel I copied for flash didn't show up. So, I'd finish with two choices after shutting the phone down, having exited CWM Recovery. I would either open CWM again, after seeing LEDs glowing purple/blue in order to press Volume down key to enter CWM - or to ignore and finish seeing grayscreen. Luckily, I was able to find a JB 4.1.2 kernel for my rooted Xperia J, so I put it and flashed it instead of the ICS kernel provided on the thread I referred to. That solved the problem. I had JB 4.1.2 installed and rooted with ROM Manager installed along with SuperSU app. The next step I was going to do was to install a ClockWork Recovery, I hesitated installing PA3 directly without a recovery image. Ironically, CW Recovery is what really made all the problems now. Searching on Google I found a way to boot directly to ClockWork Recovery, I pressed and held the buttons for initiating it but I ended up with literally no way to normally boot the phone. So, I couldn't turn on the phone except in fastboot mode. In fastboot, I whiped all the data, reset to defaults, reinstalled the boot.img and JB kernel, however after all the resets and whipping anything that, according to many sites and devs, should make the phone function again...it failed. After a dozen times of taking out the battery, button combos I ended up not being able to access neither fastboot mode with CWM showing all those options for whipping, installing etc. Only phone's upper LED was working and it blinked red so I recharged the phone, then it was all the same but it'd blink green. After another hour of trying to turn on the phone in any mode, nothing good happened. When I held the power button, it vibrated but after a minute or so only green LED activated. Then I downloaded recovery exit zips that I'd install if ever got to CWM again. I tried once again to directly boot into CWM recovering by holding the power button down and both sides of volume rocker. It blinked light blue, then green and later blue. Device flasher couldn't read the phone, so I opened flash mode. It read it, but any installation of boots or kernels failed because of the phone that either disconnected or simply failed. There was no way for me to put more files on Internal Storage or SD Card, only those LEDs started behaving the way I described. After another twenty times of battery removing, 10 second and 30 s waiting, button combos, anything I could find on Google, nothing changed. Except, suddenly, the computer is able to link with the phone after holding power button for boot that only activated the green/blue/violet LED. Still, no response from flashing program, still failed to enter fastboot, CWM, direct CWM Recovery etc. But, now when my phone is, let's say, turned on with green or blue light, I can access SD Card and Internal Storage via Windows Explorer. Just below the hard drives, I can see my phone. Great? No, it's not Xperia J as it should be, PC detects Xperia Tipo. I also noted that it's mistaken SD Card for Internal Storage... Let's see what happens when I remove SD card from the device. Please help...
Bricked
And yes, this means it's bricked. Can't boot into CWM or anything. It's only good as a storage unit, energy consuming or as a brick. I got this phone in January so please don't tell me it's irreversibly hard bricked.

Okay, so first calm down. Any sign of life means it's not hard bricked but just soft bricked.
1st download flashtool: link
2. download ur stock ftf link
3. flash it with flashtool
and u should be fine again, back to stock with a fresh phone.
Can't fastboot device - remember: button combos don't work
I've also found some solutions for more severe soft-bricking, by the way. Anyway, how to make phone open fastboot? I've said it's unresponsive to all of the button combo commands. Though, I tried one more time.
Opened the flashtool... Held volume up and plugged in the USB cable...

Immediately, upper LED started glowing green, then it turned itself off after a minute. The phone is still connected.
Remember to pull up battery (and pull in of course ) than go to flashtool, fastboot PWR + Vol Up.

sony xperia j - alarm problem
Hi guys,
I bought Sony Xperia J and 2 months ago I upgraded the Android to the latest version 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).
After the upgrade the Alarm on the phone does not go off, it starts to ring (the alarm) only when I press the button to unlock the phone, I've read somewhere that when the screen is off the clock is not refreshes properly or something like that.
Can you please, help me?
Regards
Lol I know that feel bro.... It happened to me few days ago but no worries i just flashed the firmware using flashtool whenever i failed. Now i'm happy with my CM10 with vengeance kernel... its not the phone that's causing the problem its up to us how we handle it and i didnt find PA3 that interesting it was too laggy for me...
I didn't experience any of such problems that you have, but still listen to the man's advice. Install CM10. It speeds up your device, gives you options, frees your Android. My friend knows the feeling of switching from iPhone to Nexus 4 and he's like he's enlightened or something, well once again, the feeling is the same if you switch from stock Android to CM or Paranoid. I suggest you install CM because Paranoid made me a lot of problems when installing even though I did everything right, and people claim that CM is more stable...

PLEASE HELP ME with galaxy S2 SHW-M250K Boot problem

Please guys, my galaxy S2 SHW-M20K (Korean) is in trouble.
I bought it from a 2nd hand shop , and it was runing Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean (rooted stock rom). I had no problem with it till today when I tried to install "CWM Recovery", After searching the web i found a post with two files that supposedly could do the task. These files are:
1. CWM_KT_M250K.tar
2. Tegrak-Kernel-Build-39-for-SHW-M250K-UE18.tar
Using Odin, I triedd the first file but it couldn't work, and the phone could not boot so i downloaded the "rooted factory firmware" and flashed the phone. Everything was ok. Later I tried the second file. Again the phone could not boot and stuck at the logo with a yellow triangle. After waiting for about 5 minutes I tried to shut it down by pressing the power button it did'nt respond. (Now this is a point that I regret), I removed the battery as a way of forcing to turn it off.
Now my phone cannot boot. It doesn't respond to power button, neither does it allow me to enter recovery mode nor download mode. But When i connect to the charger or pc, it start charging and keeps cutting off the charging frequently. But it only allows me to enter download mode when connected to pc. When I tried to flash the "rooted factory firmware", again, the flashing goes smoothly but when the phone starts rebooting it fails as if there is a power cut. Is my battery damaged? Can someone give me a guide on how to fix it?
I need your help gus, I am not an expert in the rootings and roms,
Pardon My English. It's a foreign language to me.

As u mentioned, I think that your phone has gone to a Soft Brick. I don't know much about the Korean build, so Google it to solve the Soft Brick. Try flashing the stock rom via odin but I don't recommend it since it may cause your phone to be hard bricked if not done properly.
So go to the service centre, you'll get more help there

I thank you sir for responding to this. From what you have said, I think the best decision is to take it to Samsung service center. (For I have tried to google it but I couldn't get a solution). I would also like to know if it is repairable, and about the cost, is it worth repairing or should I think of buying a new phone?
I am stranded.

Utterly Stuck, Confused and a bit Desperate ! Trying to rescue Ampe A83 Tablet

hi,
I've been at this for a few hours with no luck and i'm out of ideas.
I've got the Ampe A83 Quad Core 3G 7.85" Android 4.4.2 Tablet PC and I was trying to upgrade the stock android 4.4.2 to something newer. I figured out that the recovery needed to be unlocked before I could properly flash anything so I used the MTK Droid Tool.
Even though the link from DX states that it's an MTK8382 chip, the droid tool identified it as MT6582 and said the MTK8382 was "fake" so I started trying to look for MT6582 Roms.
I used the tool to create and install a custom CWM recovery, which worked and I can access to do the usual data and cache wipes.
I also used the tool to make a backup before i did anything else as well - it contains the various img files - boot.img, recovery img e.t.c... and everything else.
Now i've tried at least a dozen different roms for MTK devices and NOTHING WORKS. I've had a number of errors trying to install cyanogen but i've also had roms that appear to have successfully installed but when I reboot, nothing happens - the device is stuck in a boot loop but, thankfully, i can still get back to the recovery.
That in itself is no longer the issue really, because i'm now at the point where I just want to restore the device to how it was before I started trying to update it but i'm really at a loss as to what to do now.
The part that i'm worried about is that I didn't use the IMEI/NVRAM button which, seemingly, also performs a backup.
If it helps, I did use the tool to "Prepare Backup for Flash Tool", which worked, and I've downloaded the SP Flash Tool but i'm a bit hesitant to do anything at the moment in case I go one step too far and brick the tablet, partly because all of the guides i've read about using SP Flash to restore say that Preloader, and DSP_bl have to be unchecked before you do anything and I don't actually have the DSP_bl field as an option to even uncheck.
Any help would be most welcome, thankyou. Hopefully i've provided enough information.
For whatever reason, It appears I can now no longer get into recovery. I might see if i can charge it up for a couple of hours to see if that makes any difference.
This is going to be a very expensive mistake if I can't get anything back on this tablet as i'm going to have to replace it out of my own money as well considering it isn't actually mine and i was trying to update it for someone else.
Update:
It now appears to be stuck in what I can only describe as a "charging loop". I've plugged it in to mains power and I see the Battery Charging Symbol on the screen in the centre. It stays there for 10-15 seconds and then vanishes. A few seconds later it's back and the cycle repeats - over and over and over again. I can't even work out if it's getting any charge at all.
I've tried holding down the volume minus key and power for varying lengths of time but nothing happens. Same goes with the volume plus key and power and various other combinations.
It all seems to stem from when I had it in recovery earlier today and chose to reboot the system, thinking - stupidly - I could power it off. I assume since there's no active ROM on the tablet, it's basically rebooted in to 'nothing'.
I had the tablet plugged in to the mains for over five hours last night and got up this morning to see the same screen - the battery symbol blinking in and out.
I know the cable works because I used it to charge a mobile phone not 24 hours earlier.
well, thanks for all the responses but i'm going to have to consider this tablet dead now. nothing i do or try does anything now. it won't even give me the battery symbol now and plugging it in to the mains does nothing.
Maybe the battery is just dead and maybe i need a different USB cable but I can't deal in maybes when I have to now find a way of replacing this tablet.
So yeah, thanks for the help.
