[Q] Android application question - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I am pretty new to Android development and wondering if it is possible to create an application that allows a user to connect and send AT commands to a device remotely from a desktop and if so, point me in the direction on where to start on this.
Also, would the device have to be rooted to send/receive the commands?
Thanks

[Q] Mass Device Deployment

Hi Everyone,
Has anyone had any experience in mass device deployment? I am looking for a solution that would ideally allow me to create a device image from a reference device to then deploy to remaining devices (up to 100) of the same type. Ideally I would like to do this without the need to root the devices but at this point I will take any information I can.
Thanks!

[Q] Trying to control Sony Bravia SmartTV

Hi!
Trawling through Google led me to a thread on this forum: ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2091564&page=2 ), which mentions that a json command sent to a certain address on the TV will return a list of possible commands. I hope to figure out how I can use those commands with an Android app that I bought for creating custom remotes.
First, I need to figure out a simple way of sending the JSON command to the TV over my LAN, though. Would someone kindly suggest an easy method that will allow me to do this using my Android phone or my windows laptop?
Any suggestions or advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

[Q] Receive calls on PC, PC Android integration. Is this possible?

Hello everyone,
I'm sorry if anyone has asked asked the same before
I'm new to android development, learning the basics. I recently had a question, weather PC and android integration like the one found in Yosemite and iOS8 , is possible to be developed. Is it possible only using root or is it not possible at all? Is it possible with the current available API?
I do know about notification pushing, like push bullet and other apps out there. They also have quick reply for some apps. But is phone call ability possible in a similar fashion.
Do put in your inputs on this.
I have been working on something similar, from a different angle...

[Q] Mapping a shared Windows file to Android using Adhoc

I am newer to Android development but would like to know how to communicate with my Windows 8 (7 or XP) environment over Adhoc from my Android phone. I have researched this topic and I generally see people refer to the play store to download an app. I don't just want the functionality, but I want to know how to do it myself. Whether if there is a specific library I can use through android development, or if their is some command line option I can use via Android to do this.
So, how would I go about browsing files on my Windows machine without using an app? I know the Android O/S (at least what I gathered from the articles I have read) does not support this. So what are developers doing in their apps to create this connection? Or what is the best book to buy to help me understand how to do this?
Thanks!

[Q] Remote control Android >from> Android - persistent permission granted

Hello all,
My parents are very old and their TV comes through an Android box. They constantly have issues and I want to be able to control their device from my home. All the screen sharing software I've seen requires a passcode to be read on the slave device and entered on the master device. This does not work for me as my parents are way too technophobic to be able to open some app and find that code... so my question is:
Is there any software you know of that will allow me to give permission to a screen sharing software ONCE so that days or months later I can still control my parent's Android device without having to find the code again?
Thanks,
Mark.
