FAQ
Q Why a special Q&T Thread for a specific ROM??
A The bigger a ROM development thread gets, the greater the chance that posts are being placed in this thread that are not related to the ROM development itself, e.g. problems with flashing, installation, bugs, things not working etc. However this is understandable, it's not according to the guidelines of XDA for Development sections (see rule number 15 of posting in a Dev's thread). Therefore the main goals of the ROM specific Q&T threads is to avoid this cluttering of the original develpment thread with these OT posts by redirecting the posters to the ROM specific Q&T thread and also to relieve the developer from answering these post, so he can dedicate his time to developing.
Q Where can I download this ROM and How do I install?
A You can find the link to download and installation instructions HERE. Pay close attention to this post, everything required for a successful flash is listed right here. If you fail to follow the instructions or meet the requirements for installation, you could run into some problems.
Q What are the known issues with these ROM's?
A Nothing known yet
Q How’s battery life?
A I see this question asked repeatedly across all ROMS. Honestly there is no way to give you an answer based on a ROM. There are too many variables in question and results vary from user to user and device to device. Battery life is going to depend on age and condition of your battery, your use habits with your device, installed apps, tweaks, settings, etc...
Q How do I...
A Ask your questions and report your issues in this thread. You will receive a response and hopefully get you back up and running this ROM to it's fullest

Did you install twrp first? What version? After wiping, did you flash the rom, then gapps, then supersu? If you followed those steps and have good downloads then you should have a working rom.

Did you grab the md5 files and put them in the same directories with their counterparts? Also, did you NOT grab the inverted versions? If you have the md5 files and verified they were good then you wouldn't even be able to flash the files if they were bad. You do have a tf101? I've been using the rom for a couple days and after a clean wipe and reboot it is working fine for me. It even restored my apps for me. It's got to be something on your end.

You may have to use BRK's root toolkit to nvflash back to stock first so you can root and install custom recoveries. Then once you have twrp in place again, you'll have to start from scratch, following directions in first post of the rom thread.

What recovery are you using and what gapps? What process did you use? Are you also downloading the md5 file to the same folder with the ROM? It will tell you right away if you have a bad download as it won't even let you flash if the md5 doesn't match. All I can say is that it worked perfect for me, so give the requested details and we'll see if we can figure it out.

Yes, but I don't know what those versions are. I need you to state what recovery and what version and also which gapps you are using. I also need to know what process you used in attempting to flash the ROM. Without these, I can't be much help. It works or I wouldn't have posted it. It may not have worked for you and if you supply me the right information, I may be able to help. Otherwise, all I know to say is try to download it again and follow the instructions in the first post of the ROM thread, making sure you are using TWRP-2.6.3.10 version recovery and the mini-modular gapps package from the link there.
I'm using those both versions, the roms before This One. works well

Try Apex Launcher. It's what I'm using and is mostly pretty smooth. It also has an option for tablet mode, I.e. no dock row.

The only thing I see in the tablet version is under settings, a place to set or change your mood which appears to attach an emoji to your status maybe, unlike the one on my phone which allows attaching them to a text.

Hi
congrats on a well working rom
im very new to rom and stuff, and so far the best rom i ve tired for tf101
now my issue is with some function keys dont work by default if it might be possible to make docking keyboard function keys like wifi, mute, touch disabling ... to work?
volume, brightness works
and is there a way to have some native-stock rom applications already installed on this?
and also was wonderign if it is possible to disable the battery getting charged from docking battery or not, via software?
thanks in advance, this is by far the best rom ive come up with, all the others had issues ...

Modded ICS Browser
- fixed rotation issues and flickering -
I was terribly annoyed by the rotation issues and crashes of the default ICS Browser.
Turning the phone from landscape to portrait crashed or at least flickered the Browser.
Well.. not anymore!
I tried lots of things over the past few weeks, both in my ICS ROM and in the Browser itself but all of them failed - until today.
So here I present... a modded ICS Browser.apk with fixed rotations:
For users:
Download here: Browser-rotationfixed-tonyp-v2.zip
For odexed ROMs you need this version:
Download odexed version: Browser-rotationfixed-odexed-tonyp-v2.zip
It's a flashable zip, you can simply install it via CWM.
Or extract the Browser.apk and do it manually.
Note that this breaks Flash videos within the browser as that relies on hwa.
For developers:
To build a browser with working rotation it should be enough to to use the following line for this particular app within the Manifest.
Code:
<application android:label="@string/application_name" android:icon="@mipmap/ic_launcher_browser" android:name="Browser" android:taskAffinity="android.task.browser" android:backupAgent=".BrowserBackupAgent" [B]android:hardwareAccelerated="false"[/B]>
Reference: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/graphics/hardware-accel.html
I gladly share this with everyone, but would like to get at least mentioned at the Credits.
It's no allmighty ueber super hacker tweak - but I debugged it for quite some time to find the culprit.
Keep in mind that we lived with a broken browser for 8 month until I were able to find this solution!
Working perfectly on HFS1.9, I can not explain to you how happy this makes me lol.
Thank you

Try a clean install and flash this right after that. Make sure you fix permissions after flashing this and that should work

I got it working on domination. What I did was solid explorer (or a root browser of your choice) after flashing the zip and went into system app and change the browser permissions to rw-r-r because I saw that they were different from the other system apps then I rebooted. I then went back into system app and installed the apk right there just select the browser apk like you were side loading it and enjoy flicker free browsing

Yea I got that error also I extracted the zip and reinstalled the apk that seemed to fix it but the flash issue is still there. I'll try to decompile the tonys apk and the normal apk to compare them and see what changes were made and see if I can find out why flash breaks but I'll do it tomorrow if I have the time. Right now I can only recommend that you use a 3rd party browser or restore a nandroid or titanium backup or something like that to get back the stock browser

must be your rom mines work. im runnin eb ics
I just created a second flashable zip which does set the permissions correctly this time.
The updater-script had set -rwxr-xr-x instead of -rw-r--r--, sorry for that.
If it's working for you there's no real need to reflash v2 on top.
Someone here posted that correcting the permissions made it work for him.
I don't really know if permissions do matter here - I never set any permissions to the files I push to /system/app and never had any problems due to that.
Link is in the OP.
FYI: v1 has been downloaded 230 times.
Thanks to the 2 donators!
As always: If you include your nick in the custom Paypal message (or send me a PM) I will add it into my "thanks" list at the PA ROM thread (even if you're not using that, I can't handle multiple lists ).
Amazing. Works great on EB AOSP 4.0.4. Thanks

There's an odexed version in the OP for odexed ROMs now as well (like owains Domination). :good:

422 MB - ORIGINAL UNOFFICIAL SAMSUNG JB 4.1.2 LEAK ROM DE-ODEXED
194 MB - SUPERLITE ROM
Thanks to mohan_kr and "anonymous" for the the samsung jb leak.
You can also read the original rom thread HERE for more info.
What i did was strip it down as much as i could from 422mb to 194mb for the de-odexed rom.
Yes less than half of the oringinal so its still boots and that all the main hardware functions of the phone still work.
Why make it smaller: faster backups/restores, faster boot, less background processes, no bloatware - add what you want, its lean and mean.
The stuff i left in is what i need out of my rom, anything else i get from the market or from tibu backups.
This is not my DD, i just did it for fun, but you never know, touchwiz might grow on me as i did get this sucker down to a reasonable size.
This is for any users how want to try a leaner touchwiz based jb rom
No support will be given for this rom, but alot of info can be found on mohan_kr's thread HERE
If you need something i took out you should extract it from the oringinal samsung leak if you know how to, you can post how you did it.
I might upload the individual parts in a zip file for the de-odexed rom depending on the requests.
STUFF I TOOK OUT, BUT NOT INCLUSIVE:

IF YOU WERE ALREADY USING UCLK4 RADIO, NO AMOUNT OF WIPING OF ANY KIND WILL WIPE THE RADIO, NO NEED TO FLASH THE RADIO AS IT DOESNT GET WIPED.
FOR RADIO COMBATIBILTY WITH THE SAMSUNG LEAK READ THE ORINGINAL THREAD HERE
IF COMING FROM ANOTHER ROM, FULL WIPE AND FLASH THE UCLK4 RADIO UNLESS YOU WERE ALREADY ON THE RADIO
IF COMING FROM THE LEAK, THEN FULL WIPE, NO NEED TO FLASH THE RADIO AS IT DOESNT GET WIPED
IF ON THE SUPERLITE SAMSUNG JB DE-ODEXED ROM THEN NO NEED TO FLASH THE ROOTED DE-ODEXED ROM UNLESS YOURE BORED, BUT IT IS SMALLER.
NOTE: WHEN FLASHING RADIO DO NOT HAVE USB CABLE ATTACHED TO THE PHONE.
RADIO IS IN THE DOWNLOAD SECTION
FOR ROOTED DE-ODEXED ROM
SAME AS BELOW
ONCE BOOTED UPDATE SUPERSU BINARIES
FOR DE-ODEXED ROM
To add the apps back you need to Root the phone, install a root file browser like esfile explorer, find the apk file from mohan_kr's de-odexed rom, and add it too the system folder or where ever the original file was located, then reboot, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt, it depends on the app and its dependancies.
I might upload the individual parts in a zip file for the de-odexed rom depending on the requests
FOR ODEXED ROM
To add the apps back you need to Root the phone, install a root file browser like esfile explorer, find the apk file and the coressponding odex file from mohan_kr's odexed rom , copy them to the system folder or where ever the original file was located, and possibly change the read write permissions for both apk and odex file then reboot, but it could be tricky as its a odexed rom, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt, it depends on the app and its dependancies.

I have been using chrome on my desktop forever and now it is an app for our phones .......I love it for one simple reason......I use the same account for Chrome on my PC and when I installed it on my phone I used the same login and every single bookmark I have on my computer is now on my phone.......in a nice neat folder......
Vin,
Just out of curiosity, why is this ROM so much bigger than your 4.1.2 lite ROM? Been using that and its awesome, btw.
Thank you,

Bro this thing is less than half the size of original. His other rom is based on cm 10 which is only about 150mb to start with

Everyone should remember this is still just a LEAK even if it is a leak from the source......We will probably see quite a few more in the near future. This leak has a few bugs and it will take some time to get them sorted out and make the rom smaller and with more customization.
This may be a stupid noon question, but I've also been on it superlite rom since version 7 release...
.. But I'm not really knowledgeable about what the difference between cm10 and other roms.. Only that I love ur rom. I actually installed this one today and nan restored literally 10 minutes later.. lol
Anyway my question is, is it possible to do a new and better version of the superlite rom now with this leak, or does it not work that way? After enjoying cm10 themes and customization, I don't think I could ever go back..

202 MB > SUPERLITE ROM - DE-ODEXED - ROOTED - BAKED IN MOHAN_KR'S INSECURE KERNEL - REMOVED ATT FUGLY BOOT SCREEN
Thanks to mohan_kr and "anonymous" for the the 2nd leak of the stock samsung JB 4.1.2 rom.
You can read the original full rom thread HERE for more info.
What i did was strip it down as much as i could from 435mb to 202mb for the de-odexed rom.
EDIT: LOOKS LIKE I'LL BE DOING THE BYO = BUILD YOUR OWN SECTION - THEY ARE FLASHABLE ZIPS - JUST CLICK ON THE ITEM YOU WANT TO REINSTALL, FLASH IT IN RECOVERY THEN REBOOT, NO WIPING NEEDED.

Vin,
If I flash the new radio to your last unofficial ROM, can I flash this one over it without wiping the data?
Thanks!

there is no weather lock screen included, did you install separately.
as for the att stock browser - i just tested it by flashing the zip from op, no wiping or fixing perms, then rebooted, i opened it then automatically signed me in to my gmail account and loaded the home page att.yahoo.com, no fc's for me, it might need an account for it to work but im not too sure as i dont use the stock browser
Still checking.. But I d/ld the email addon and it is actually a desk clock app.

i removed weather stuff, when i set the lockscreen to show weather in settings i get no fc's, when im on the lockscreen i get "unable to show weather" since there is no weather app installed, but no fc's. i'll see which weather app is needed for that too function, but no promises
make sure you have an account setup first as browser and weather widgets expects an account be already setup, or you had a bad flash
EDIT: im uploading the weather stuff up now, tested working, but still doesnt explain your fc's

edit : and no I didn't see no force closes on boot, but my modem wasn't the right one so I also had no reception so I didn't test out other aspects for force closes or functionality in general. but nothing pops up on boot which is a great sign. I need to start learning to build myself too. if you got any tips/links on where to start I'd appreciate you sending them my way. looking forward to see some more from source roms from you, as I've been racking my brain trying to port the crap

Ok all restored back for my second install attempt.
1) possible recovery issue? maybe just a bad flash (confirmed for just me so ignore this one)
2) not able to transfer files to the pc when connected via usb cable. will update this with more as I poke around. (FIXED)
3) Second thing noticed so far LED light when charged (past 90% mark) doesn't work right. proper behavior is turning blue instead it is off. Luckily that can be fixed fairly easily myself. (FIXED)
4) roaming indicator off warning on lockscreen (FIXED)
5) 4g? can't test but looking at the framework it doesn't appear like it'll work. can't test as no 4g here (FIXED)
6) rotation issues with keyboard (FIXED)
7) crash when selecting toolbars in system settings (FIXED)
8) no auto rotaton option?
hopefully I can get these fixed on my end. starting to edit now

my notes will do him no good. this guy is doing from source not porting. I need to go to the point where I can be doing it from source rather than porting. I am actually kind of sad that I spent nearly ~16 hours working on the port since it's a complete waste of time with source builds coming soon. seriously I don't even want to think more on how much time I wasted now lol GAH

i have an idea what happened theres a part where you extract files from the rom when its running on the phone it has to be a certain branch such as 4.2.2
i forgot to do that because in the commits it says it pulls neccessary files from the phone such as charging and other things
whats a good epic build using 4.2.2 without the nexus modem im going to get my neighbors phone and upload a new build in a few hours.
but im sure your going to go ahead and find it out
This post details how to install 'Xposed' on the HTC One.
Full details on the modification can be found in this post.
rovo89 said:
Some technical details:
I extended the /system/bin/app_process executable to load a JAR file on startup. The classes of this file will sit in every process (including the one for system services) and can act with their powers. And even more: I have implemented something that allows developers to replace any method in any class (may it be in the framework, systemui or a custom app). This makes Xposed very powerful. You can change parameters for the method call, modify the return value or skip the call to the method completely - it's all up to you! Also replacing or adding resources is easy.
Advantages:
No need to modify any APKs. This means:
No need to decompile, change things in smali, compile, sign, ...
It will work for odexed and deodexed ROMs.
Your mod is not bound to a specific version of the ROM. Unless there is a major change in the methods called for a certain functionality, your mod will continue to work even when you upgrade your ROM. Hell, it will probably even work with different ROMs.
Multiple mods can be installed at the same time, even if they change the same package. So you can use these battery icons and those quick toggles. Even hooking the same method twice is possible. Of course, this only works properly if the mods are not trying to do incompatible things.
It does its magic at runtime. That means you can implement options to let the user decide if they prefer the bikeshed to be painted in red or blue. Or you can have some extra logic for certain ROMs without building different mod versions.
It can be disabled easily without having to reflash.
It's open source.

This guide is posted with rovo89's permissions. MASSIVE thanks to him for this modification, it's awesome. I'll be posting a number of modules for the One soon, keep an eye on this forum for details.
A custom installation system is required due to the One's /system partition lock (changes are lost at reboot). So... to install (this is version 2.1.3, i'll update as required)...
Download and install this APK - DOWNLOAD
Executed Xposed Installer from your launcher and click 'Install / Update'
Download this zip file and copy to your internal SD card - DOWNLOAD
Install the downloaded zip from your custom recovery
That's it, you're done! To uninstall, use the 'Clean Up' option in the app and then run the uninstall zip from the main Xposed Framework post.
Enjoy!

Is it possible to use XPosed's "long press volume button to skip songs" feature on HTC One? I can't test it since I don't have the phone yet, but it's a very important feature for me.
I've not seen / tried that mod, but it should certainly be possible to create it.

Changing files in /system is impossible without root, so the answer is, sadly, no.
You could probably be unrooted after installation, but you need to root first to install.

But there's no way to root without HTCDev bootloader unlock, is there? So the 'damage' is done then, so no need to unroot...
Correct.

AW: [MOD] How to install 'Xposed' on the HTC One
Is it possible to get apps in tablet mode with this mod? I doesn't seem to happen, no matter what settings I choose in the Xposed settings app.

What damage. Your warranty with HTC??.
Most people agree the so called risk is worth the reward.

YOUVE GOT TO BE FCKING JOKING. Download the apk, set up the app, download the .zip, flash the .zip from custom recovery. PROFIT! If you dont know what that is, do a google search for christs sake. The users on here are too busy perfecting their devices and sharing what theyve learnt to hold your hand through such a simple process. Derpa derrrr.

Is it possible in the future to root and or install custom kernel/recovery/ROM without HTC dev? is it confirmed that we void our warranty when we use HTC Dev to unlock boot loader?

Pretty sure it reads "may void your warranty". Hasn't affected anyone that I know of so far in getting a replacement. They don't even check, and the people in the store have no clue about what unlocked or s-off even means. They are salesmen not techs.

More like someone can't read simple instructions and asked for a VIDEO TUTORIAL in how to flash a zip. Read and search before asking how to do something very basic. You got what you deserved. You should read a whole lot more before you brick your phone!

NFC screen off/Google Wallet
Installed everything as instructed. Kid-mode mod works fine. I'm having issues with Google Wallet and the NFC enabled with screen off mod. First, I installed the Google Wallet apk and enabled the "Don't verify root/compatibily" part, but when I start up Google Wallet, it just says "Setting up Wallet, this may take up to 5 minutes." It just sits there and then eventually times out and closes down. Any suggestions to get this to work? Second, I enabled the NFC mod but it does not work. Any advice for this too?
