it booted so yay for that, but when I later tried to go to recovery goblins ate my phones soul. so now time to odin. maybe it's just me but figured I'd give a potential heads up.
maybe it wasn't even recovery maybe it was just the charging screen and I panicked for no reason, don't know now lol. so maybe ignore this whole message! any one else flash and have anything to give the op some feedback? I am wondering if I just did a bad download or something

ya I am doing that now, just having to gather all the odin files needed to get back to a running state. I forgot I lost my hard drive with my backed up stuff so now the hunt starts. will report back once I replace the kernel and recovery.
edit : and no I didn't see no force closes on boot, but my modem wasn't the right one so I also had no reception so I didn't test out other aspects for force closes or functionality in general. but nothing pops up on boot which is a great sign. I need to start learning to build myself too. if you got any tips/links on where to start I'd appreciate you sending them my way. looking forward to see some more from source roms from you, as I've been racking my brain trying to port the crap

Ok all restored back for my second install attempt.
1) possible recovery issue? maybe just a bad flash (confirmed for just me so ignore this one)
2) not able to transfer files to the pc when connected via usb cable. will update this with more as I poke around. (FIXED)
3) Second thing noticed so far LED light when charged (past 90% mark) doesn't work right. proper behavior is turning blue instead it is off. Luckily that can be fixed fairly easily myself. (FIXED)
4) roaming indicator off warning on lockscreen (FIXED)
5) 4g? can't test but looking at the framework it doesn't appear like it'll work. can't test as no 4g here (FIXED)
6) rotation issues with keyboard (FIXED)
7) crash when selecting toolbars in system settings (FIXED)
8) no auto rotaton option?
hopefully I can get these fixed on my end. starting to edit now

my notes will do him no good. this guy is doing from source not porting. I need to go to the point where I can be doing it from source rather than porting. I am actually kind of sad that I spent nearly ~16 hours working on the port since it's a complete waste of time with source builds coming soon. seriously I don't even want to think more on how much time I wasted now lol GAH
edit : keeping track of current bugs in like my third post on first page. got a good count going so far and they need confirming.

i have an idea what happened theres a part where you extract files from the rom when its running on the phone it has to be a certain branch such as 4.2.2
i forgot to do that because in the commits it says it pulls neccessary files from the phone such as charging and other things
whats a good epic build using 4.2.2 without the nexus modem im going to get my neighbors phone and upload a new build in a few hours.
but im sure your going to go ahead and find it out

These are some apps I themed based around TK's TwoPointTwo and TwoPointThree themes. I'm still getting over the flu but I thought I should throw some of them up here to see if there is any interest in them. I will also take requests if anyone has any. I'm working on gapps as we speak. These are my first attempts at theming anything for android so I really hope you guys like them. If you have any issues please let me know. These are signed apk's so no installing through recovery. If you don't like them simply uninstall.
One more thing...I want to thank Thoughtless Kyle, Smooth Taste, and all of the other guys that are helping me learn and continue to guide me. You guys are the poop!

if you want to zip them up and send them via dropbox i will finish the steps or if you want to try it.
download a copy of the Gapps and rename the Gapp's zip anything you want
open it with 7zip and navigate to the apps folder
(name you chose here).zip/system/apps
drag and drop your new files into that folder (these should not be signed since they are going into the system partition they do not need to be)
then exit 7zip sometimes it will ask to update the zip pick yes, then sign that whole zip file instead of just an apk, then you should be able to flash it via recovery like every other zip
I was waiting for this! Thanks for the apps! I put some more suggestions in the TwoPointThree topic, I'll edit with those in here instead.
Great work!!!

LMAO I get that same kinda crap at home from family members. Imagine my disgust at the phone call I got this morning asking if I could help them flash a Verizon iphone to Sprint when it comes out....all they herd was "Click...." then a dialtone. LOL
Anyway, the version of gapps I had was actually older than that. I'll find the one you're using and just import the png's. Is there any way of mnaking the individual apk's? I only ask so that when I do the blue people will have the option to go back and fourth to green or blue and soon.....black (shhh) lol

the apk's will still be inside that zip folder they just wont be signed, they get put in the system/app folder
so in order to make a blue or any other color you would make seperate zip files for each color then the user just flashes them in recovery, when you flash over one set any apk's that have the same name will be replaced (actually i think it goes on their android:id so i think it will replace them even if the apk's in the zip have different names)

Nope, same dev I was the one who ported slim ics...this won't get taken down cause I did it from source this time
Anyways, let me know any bugs you run into...I just did a quick test...WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS (slow..doesn't have Scott's fix for fast gps yet), and the main stuff were working...went out for dinner, then school shopping then worked out so I haven't gotten to thouroghly test it yet for bugs...just made sure the main things worked

Yeah, does not yet have the agps/GPS.conf fix yet...will have that in the next update, as well as add in ota support, and possibly slim it down...I think he current build has items other device zips don't because they are included in the common zip - I want it to be as slim as other versions...which total to about 80-90 after adding device zip to common zip...so basically I wanna try and clear 15-30mb...probably 15 cause we have a 15mb modem included that others do not have
Got a whole weekend to work on this and another project that should be released by Sunday...
Also, due to school updates will almost always be done on the weekends...unless I have little homework this year...too early to tell

That may work, but Scotts fix was actually disabling agps because agps was not cooperating with jellybean...I think the GPS.conf was also edited...gotta look for the post...but it was dani who discovered the fix and brought it to Scotts attention I believe

Give CM 7.2 a Jellybean facelift. Big thanks to xda's bhupatib http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34925010#post34925010for hooking up the [APP] JBMakeOver Patcher for CM7 and the Ice10 theme. I'm running this on the 010113 CM 7.2 nightly, but YRMV and if you break it, I'm not liable. Wipe, Flash PROFIT. The Ice10.apk is a theme...select it with theme chooser. BIG WORD UP to devs past and present for keeping this awesome device alive. My screen shots are with 200 dpi, so, it won't look exactly the same.

No, not at all. Try it out and enjoy. I notice the 'p' in profiles is cut off in the power options menu...idk why though. So it's not perfect..but it's a start.
Wow this looks incredible! The only reason I kept going back to JB was cuz of the cosmetics, but this has JB beat. Thanks again! Can't wait to release my next build with this!! I will be sure to give thanks and link back

Right, I pulled the .apks from system/app and system/framework and put them in their respective folder within the app and ran it as if it were the "official" build (selection 1 I think) it ran it through and output the .zips I included for download. The Ice10.apk is a theme that you can install and then select in the theme chooser.

I didn't, but it seems that you may have to to bake it in, I am running my own Kang'ed Rom that I just flash to at will...I back up, I flash and if it works I keep it...sorry I can't be of more help. On a related note, the MOD looks great at 200 dpi and you may want to consider changing that too. I have a fully functioning playstore and the 200 dpi. MONEY! ~Bill
This is exactly what I was looking for. I flashed this and ran into a boot loop issue. I'm using Kendall's JellyBread rom. I tried to do a fresh install of the rom and flashed the patcher right after and still got the boot loop. I'm no dev so I think I will relax until one of these talented individuals bake this mod into their roms. Big thanks for bringing this over to OG Evo!

The apk's are not signed I think so it causes a bootloop on a fresh install. You will need to flash the rom, set it up, reboot to recovery, wipe caches then flash this mod. I am currently working on getting this working from a fresh boot. But I have to go to work right now and my laptop crapped out a while back so I cannot work on this while at work.

Well it is actually the patcher that is used for this. It decompiles the apk's and then compiles them again with the modified xml files but it does not appear to sign it. So as far as using the patcher as it should be used, Bill did that. Now we need to take that output file attached in the OP and zip each apk in there. Then bam. If you can do that for me since I am at work, that would be great! That way I can test it to kill time here.

I kept the herc kernel wasn't sure or not. Oh well. Its not really hard to do. Just grab cm10 stable and open as an archive and drag and drop the boot.IMG into the miui I provided.

It will work obviously, but it creates a few side affects. Since I have been running miui 3.7.5 for a while on the Hercules, I can tell you that pretty much any 4.1.2 aosp kernel for the skyrocket will work. Just to be safe tho, always do a backup first.

Just mentioning some options for you. Honestly anyone who can flash a Rom, should be able to flash a kernel till you get around to fixing it.

I personally don't run MIUI. Preferences. but no shame in giving the love.
Are you just porting the this from the herc?? If so it can be done easily. PM me if you would like some tips. I could port it but others can have their chance too (in other words I'm working on something else). Any questions just ask. And btw, the boot.img is only part of the kernel. To fix rotation use the skyrocket cm10 boot.img and all the files located in system/lib/modules Might help with the vibrate too.

go for it! You know more than I do!.
Excellent! I was going to report in on the rotation issue and see it's already being worked on.... nice....
The only other thing I've found is when attempting to change the APNs... I added AT&T's 'phone' APN and set it to default, supl and modified the wap.cingular to just mms but when I attempted to connect to the new APN, settings FC'd on me. I ended up having to reset to defaults and just leaving it.... haven't tested MMS but SMS works fine.... I've rebooted a number of times and there's no issue with the 'optimizing' on bootup...
This is looking very promising....
Now I might look into yanking a 4.1.2 boot.img from somewhere and getting it in place and adding cymbaline's kernel.... that should fix the rotation issue (If I followed the thread correctly)
memory consumption seems a bit high but I haven't really gone through and debloated yet.....
So far so good!

Cymbaline is Mohan's touchwiz based kernel correct? Flashing that on a ROM with a CM base is going to have detrimental effects. I would strongly advise against it.

The consumption is normal actually lol. You don't need to debloat miui. because of the app controller. I'm fixing it right now and i'll upload this afternoon. Unless Toyes beats me to it. Lol. And just leave the APN's provided. They work for me. .-.
Uploading now.
Oh and btw you can only MMS with one apn. I figured that out already lol..

Welcome to BoxxiRoms
FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY IN ORDER FOR THIS TO WORK RIGHT!!!
About the DevWhat's up everyone. Hope your days/nights are going well. Here I might as well introduce myself, I'm kaptinboxxi, nice to meet you. I've been in the Android root/custom romming world since the days of the original Droid X. It's about time I start some releases aye?
About BoxxiRomBoxxiRom is basically just my personal touch on a rom. Make it as small, fast, battery saver, and useful as possible. I get AMAZING battery life out of my device. On average, I unplug my device from the charger at about 10:30 AM every day when my alarm goes off. After normal use over the day (you know, play 10 minutes of games on the crapper, moderate texting, snapchat and kik all day), when about 9:00 PM comes around and I get home from work, I'm still sitting at about 45-50% battery. It's just lovely! To learn more about the rom, please see the includes and removals below! See screen shots below.. .With some Android 5.0 goodness thrown in.

CreditsBigBot96 for the SlymHide base rom. I was having to many issues with the 4.4.2 rom, so I changed to a 4.4.4 base
Additions and mods by me
Basic Changes
New Base, New rom size, I know the download is BIGGER and that wasn't the goal here, but in time i'll learn to make it smaller again, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it right?

Android 5.0 Desk Clock Widgets Added
My Files replaced with Root Browser
Live wallpapers Added (i like these, makes me remember Dreamscenes on windows)
Android 5.0 Music Player
Android 5.0 Text Messenger app
Android 5.0 News and Weather (may not work, if it doesn't, i'll remove in a later release)
Viper4Android
Smart Launcher 2.0 (lightest Launcher I could find at under 2 megs for the APK)

Android 5.0 Fonts added
There's more, I'm forgetting what though.
Future Additions
Theme-able System Apps
More Battery Saving offers and speed up offers
General Fixes as needed
New Launcher (testing one from a European Only ROM called ColorOS atm)
How To Install!
This can be tricky!! Follow the instructions EXACTLY, or you'll have force closes. NO, it doesn't matter if you start from a 4.4.2 or 4.4.3 base. If you are on 4.4.2 or 4.4.3, you must do step 6 to 7...
1.) Put the BoxxiRoms 2.0 ZIP file on your device (sdcard or internal, doesn't matter)
2.) Boot Up into SafeStrap Recovery TWRP
3.) Wipe Data/Dalvik/Cache/System
4.) Install BoxxiRoms 2.0 zip
5.) Wipe Dalvik cache again after install (sounds pointless, I know, but for some reason...)
IF you were on 4.4.4 already, just reboot... If you weren't, follow these instructions.
6.) REBOOT STRAIGHT TO DOWNLOAD MODE
7.) Use ODIN to flash this 4.4.4 TAR file; N12 TAR
8.) Should boot up!
Better Battery Life on top of all this!
1.)Goto The play store, and download an app titled "Pixel Battery Saver"
2.) Open it up, and set it for medium during gaming and high when not doing much!
My battery lasts all day, where it used to die by 3 PM
Issues with the Rom
1.) Pixel Battery Saver (if you use it) will bug out the APK installer and you cannot install apps from anywhere except the play store. Sorry! I have no power over this.
LET ME KNOW! I'm still working on this, getting into some new stuff soon!
Download Link!
File Size: 1.1 Gigs... down from 1.4

wow... fail on my part. It will work just fine haha its 4.4.2 based. I'll edit that right now. I'll also have a fix coming tomorrow for Viper4Android, so maybe just hold off for now. It won't kick in like it's supposed to.
This is the rom I use on a daily basis, just for some reason, this build didn't work on a friends phone and I started looking into it and realized there's more issues than I'd like to admit. I'm doing a rebuild tomorrow

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. I'm still in the "learning stages" of creating a rom to be honest. Granted, I did it on my Galaxy Nexus as well... Hell, I compiled WebOS from source code to work on my Nexus... it's just the S5 is kind of a new ballgame since we need slight work arounds, so to speak.
I'll probably end up with that, although I kind of need some of the original stuff to be there so I know what to put back to be honest haha
Also, on top of all this, I have the android 5.0 SDK and i'm working on the theming styles as well so I can be ahead of the rest of you

I don't come from a software modding background. If you ever see my youtube channel, I'm all game modding/hacking, and other stuff like XSS and SQLi. That's my past. I wanted to get into ROM'ing again because of the fact its one thing I don't know A LOT about (except for that WebOS port) lol

My goal is getting under 400 right now. Starting to dig through other files to see what I can modify
But! Thank you for letting me use your newest release as a new base. Everything's working much better than it ever could have and BoxxiRoms 2.0 should be out tomorrow as scheduled.
i got a build to 300mb but it fails at updater script when trying to flash lol.. once you get to 300mb theres not much to remove outside lib files but i have no idea what any of them do so itd be trial n error from then on

do you have skype or kik or something? I might be able to help at that point. I'm pretty good at tracking the lib files. I'm pretty sure I know what some of them are for and what others aren't

i do but no internet atm.. also, its not a lib file if it wont even begin installation.. it has to be updater script or binary since it just fails to flash with no specific errors

Deleting files dose not change the updater script, only editing the script will change that. If you delete the wrong files it will break the install process and will fail to flash.

well on the subject of me releasing an update today, sorry I missed it! I came across some file leaks that check out as legit, and I want to include them in the next release of BoxxiRoms. That's all I'm going to state for now with this.
That being said, I'll look into the updater scripts and such. I think I know what we can do with shrinking down size further

That was my piont. That tells me there is nothing wrong with the updater script. If you are using the one I had in the debloat version I had I didn't include the set progress lines. It's not a big deal because it only affects the progress indicator in SS. On the other hand Kitchen might have overwritten the script and buggered it up.
Love the rom. Quick question tho, I can't turn my screen off no matter what. Not even using xposed additions. Any idea why?

Wow really? Mine turns off fine... I'll upload a fixed rom in about an hour after dinner. If I could now, I would
UPDATE:
decided this was urgent (obviously), Started on a whole new base rom, and should be uploading in the next 5 minutes after contents ZIP and are tested on my device
