Hello all.
I found that upgrading Spotify to version 0.7.x.xx in HTC Chacha makes the music play with several pauses a second while the screen is off.
So it's advised not to upgrade that app to that line of versions.
If you want to, you can find 0.6.7.220 version in this post of the Spotify community.

A new version has been ported and released on the Evo, with cloud sync working. Would love it on my Inc. running SR3.5
Do you have a link?
hey fellas,
i don't think the app is new. a user over in the Evo section noticed that after flashing the latest CM7 build and replacing the stock Music.apk with the Honeycomb music app already floating around his sych/cloud services started to work:

Here's a link to the Honeycomb Music apk:

I installed it and it worked for me and my music synced in the cloud!
wait, so its already working for our Inc's? Does it have lock screen controls? That was another thing missing from the first leaked version. Also does it improve the volume levels at all? I have to listen at full volume for some songs. Im dying for a new music player, stock one is so bland.
I am not sure about the lock screen controls but I was able to install the apk and it played all the music

Does the cloud sync work?
anyone know how to get ringtones, system sounds, (non music) to stop showing up in the music app? i would like to see only music
I wouldn't recommend this app to anyone quite yet, it has a lot of bugs I noticed after just a couple minutes:
1) No lock screen controls
2) Notification shows content://media/external/...blah blah instead of the song name
3) The pause/next feature present while browsing your library disappears once you hit next (it's possible this was intentional but I tend to believe it's always supposed to be there so you can keep skipping while browsing)
4) Pure music widget crashes when trying to launch app (may be related to #5, not sure).
5) Not sure why, but after I tapped the notification a few times, now I can't even use it. Every time I play a song, it skips to the next one and keeps skipping every second or two to the next song. A reboot did not resolve the issue. The album art displays "buffering" before it skips, so maybe it has something to do with cloud sync, which I didn't play around with, other than selecting my google account in the settings.

Pure music never worked with Gingerbread according to my experience.
One more problem/thing I overlooked: what about shuffle and repeat?
Thanx for the info Xidexl, thats all I needed to know. Guess ill stick with stock. Hopefully new SR will come with a new player.
Couldn't we just rip the final version off of the xoom then that would fix the issues we're having with bugs and I've also seen the one on the xoom and it seems to be a bit different

So when you hit play from a bluetooth device it seems to be pure luck as to which player will start on android.
Is there anyway to alter this behaviour? The phone in question isn't rooted, and won't be. Since this is the case I can only remove the updates to the Music player, but it's still there and will randomly take priority over winamp.
I've always experienced this no matter what media players I'm using. Sometimes it will just start playing on the regular app instead of the app i want

Solution
The Solution is: Install old winamp 1.1.1

Hi,
The app is taking over spotify when I try to listen to music with Bluetooth in my car. I asked assistance in spotify forum but they could not help.
The app is built in as people know and there is not even disabling option. How can I get rid off it?
Thanks in advance

Thank you for the respond. Yes i tried, but there isnt any other available option. Writing with my honor 6 so excuse some typos. Also my main language is not english.
Let me explain this better:
I use spotify with bluetooth to listen to music through my car stereo, which is pioneer mvh 360bt. Everything worked; i could see the song details etc in the stereo display screen and next or previous buttons worked with stereo buttons. Making it very easy to change a song while driving. Suddenly i could no longer see song details and buttons to change songs stopped working also. No idea what may cause it. I did not change or install anything suspicious, except updates on apps obviously. What i discovered is the built in music app, which started to show song details in stereo screen and took over spotify. Basicly the whole controlling is in the music app now. I tried to figure out how can i get spotify back as it used to be, no luck yet. I deleted all songs related to music app and so on. Now i can play songs through spotify, but i cant change songs with stereo buttons and the screen show no title or no name. I think the stereo and bluetooth still connects to music app while leaving spotify outside.
What i tried to do:
Reseted phone to factory settings
Tried two different apps: bluetooth connect and play app, autoaudio bluetooth help. These programs did not change anything.
Messed with phone and stereo settings..
I think i will also reset the stereo settings just to make sure.. But my girlfriends Sony xperia m2 aqua functions as it should, so the problem must be in my phone, not in stereo.
TLDR: How can i get rid off built in music app and make my spotify to function again with my "honor 6 - bluetooth - pioneer mvh 360bt" so i can change songs with stereo buttons and see the song in stereo display screen?
Spotify said that they cant help me with the issue so i hope i could get some help here.
Feel free to ask more questions and details. Thanks in advance.
have you tried to uninstall spotify or music updates to that version that worked?

Hi,
Yes. I tried to install Spotify again, many times. I also tried to install previous versions of spotify with no luck. Though might be a problem that I didn't possibly delete "old files" causing the issue still be there.
The music software, I have absolutely no idea what is it and how can I find previous updates. The software is called "Musiikki", which is "Music" in englishand the version number is v7.0.21.
Btw, I found more threads about similar issue with other Honor 6 users, but also some other phone models having them. Seems like they appeared after installing newest or second newest version of Spotify, but it's weird that I can't even fix the issue anymore by reinstalling older version of Spotify.
What really makes me think is this place where I can change default music application. I can only see there this music software and google play music, but Spotify will not be there, not even with older version.
Tomorrow I am going to reset my phone still one more time and install Spotify version where everything worked. Meanwhile I will also reset my car stereo. If I can't get this to work, I am out of ideas..
Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
I updated my Honor 6 Plus PE-UL00 to EMUI 4.0.1 and Android 6.0 a while back. However, since the update I am no longer able to use any podcast app. Specifically my go to podcast app Podcast Addict. Previous to the update the app worked perfectly.
The problem is that any podcast will only play for a few minutes before stopping and will not continue playing or will restart playing from the beginning (for the first few minutes). I have tried downloading a podcast and playing it offline and this has also not worked. I have also tried going between versions of the Podcast addict app and trying a number of different apps and this has not been successful.
I emailed the creator of the app and have been told that the playback is handled by the phones build in player and there may be a bug there.
Any help appreciated!

Try adding it to the Protected apps in Phone manager because the app is being killed when the phone goes into standby mode.
Suddenly getting this behaviour from Google assistant since a fresh android install last week. I was on the latest offical firmware before and after the update. I should point out my Spotify is modded so its the free version but with lots of premium abilities unlocked (latest version) and ive never had this problem once in all the years ive had my pixel 3.
Is this something new that Google implemented only in the last few weeks? Or is there something i can do on the phone?
Ive set/unset spotify as the default music app but tbh have never been in this setting before until i found this problem.
Thanks for any assistance.
