I follow all the directions to get double tap to wake to work on franco kernel and it never works. When i execute the code in terminal emulator it says: tmp-mksh: can't create /sys/android_touch/doubletap2wake: no such file or directory. I have tried to read everything i can and i cant figure out what i have done wrong.
Hi,
The original Francisco's kernel doesn't support it, it needs to be built in the kernel...

This app works great. And it has swipe-to-wake, which, in my opinion, is better than double-tap-to-wake because it doesn't cause unwanted waking of the device when you just want to move it or put it in your pocket.

Try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47459608 and flash the zip in recovery. When you do the commands in terminal, do not put the > symbol in the command or it will give you "no such file or directory". Followed the instruction and it works great.

Hey everyone. I am running the newest infinity ROM. I was wondering if like GBE 2.1 I have to apply the script on boot or if the settings will stick
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
I was wondering also, but I think (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong)
since we don't have a source built kernel there is no support for init.d where I beleive the file to make v6 stick is located. In the mean time I've been using auto memory manger from market which does the same without the kernel tweaks. That app does stick through reboot.
Sent from InfinityROM using xda premium
Also, if your getting redraw, which lead me to v6, this tweak is the best answer to that. In terminal emulator:
Type: su
Hit: enter
Type: echo ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1>/data/local.prop
Hit: enter
Type: reboot
This locks whatever launcher into memory, I've never seen a redraw after doing this. To undo it just delete the local.prop file in data and reboot. Hope this helps.

Simply use root explorer to make a new folder in /etc labeled init.d, run the script and the file will show up in there. Then set that file to run at boot.

imoseyon kernel supports init.d. It's the main reason I run it.
My settings stick without running the script at boot. I'm using build.prop and the init.rc option on update 9 RC 3.2.

so is any kernel compatible? would a kernel really help with battery life? which would you recommend? i want my battery to last as long as possible thanks!
I installed Sky Ice Cream Sandwich ROM 6.5. Looks like it comes with romracer's kernel? Linux version 2.6.35.11+ it says in CPU Spy. I don't know much about kernels yet but I've seen some posts about Da_g's kernel and Faux123's kernels working. Check out the Development section
already checked it out
i did check it out i was just wanting to hear from some first person accounts, i love it too but i just want the most out of my phone you know?
I am using da_g .42 with 178 script and had one sod today. I may need to try a slower setting by flashing the 172 script if it happens again. The faux 123 worked fine and it has a 172 or close to it, speed..I did not have an sod with it.
Delete modules folder so you won't get sod.

Where is the "modules" folder located? May I have the file path?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA App
OK so I believe I found the "modules" folder from the "/lib" directory.
I deleted the "modules" folder using root explorer and rebooted my skyrocket. Afterwards, I checked the directory and the "modules" folder was re-created (which I assume is the norm if I'm wrong please correct me)
I hope the SoD stops from here on in...

StarKissed is meant to provide easy access to the kernel options that many apps will empty your pockets to configure without the need for remembering which application went with which kernel or having to shell out a lot of money before you can get your device running properly.
The application is provided free, but all donations are appreciated. Donations fund development, allow this project to expand, and compensate the developer. If you would like to donate, please click the green dollar guy on the top right. Donations will unlock additional features, such as kernel backup / restore.
If a kernel developer asks for a logcat, they can be exported using the Catlog tab. If the kernel developer is looking for a last_kmsg, clicking the tab will save a copy to the sdcard under the folder StarKissed/logcat
This application contains configuration options, kernel settings, scripts, and various other common and rare modifications that have been designed for almost every Android device and ROM. While the available features are extensive, not every device and every ROM will ALWAYS work. There are available options to submit your device, kernel, and ROM profile to help extend these items to you.

No, it's the lag in Goo's servers. I pushed a version that was missing a variable, realized it, and pushed a new one about 5 minutes later. Sadly you will see an hour delay between the two versions. That is also why there is a new option in settings for "download betas" which pulls from my server, but there will be untested changes. The fixed version is attached (also a good point to revert if it happens again, since the server will just send you new updates anyway)

I just realized I'm not running a 4.2 build, so the kernel I would download won't have the same changes. Can either of you..
run this in terminal:
Code:
am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.loungecat.starkissed/.activity.MainActivity; logcat -d | grep `ps | grep com.loungecat.starkissed | cut -c10-15` > /sdcard/SkuErrorLog.txt
or this from the computer:

adb shell am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.loungecat.starkissed/.activity.MainActivity; adb logcat -d | grep `adb shell ps | grep com.loungecat.starkissed | cut -c10-15` > SkuErrorLog.txt

Yes. It's usually a quick fix when I have one.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Did some work on the look of things, now I'm going to convert an old github script I have for generating changelogs into a native display so it'll be easier to follow. Once a logcat hits for the crash that will be fixed as well.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
You probably won't need to post a logcat. I found an issue where grabbing todays date wasn't being fully converted to a number and causing a format error. The reason it only seemed to happen to some is that it only gets the date for the very first run. Anywho, Goo takes years to publish, so a fix is attached to this post.
Alright, i've pushed out the last update for the day. The startup issue should be resolved. Now tested and working on HTC devices. Color and voltage panels were cleaned up. Webviews optimized. The new changelog display is in place but needs some work. Vibration limits were removed if your kernel supports a larger range. And I think that does it for the last two hours...

Same issue as ICS. Running the Herc t989 rom on the i727. I've tried replacing files and I still cant get it to work (replaced the matching file names from the ICS fix).
The autorotate fix here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1592170&highlight=rotation+fix fixed me on ICS. Reading his post again, it sounds like a fix that is more than just a driver change. Anyone have a solution? I tried the search and a flood of nothing for Jellybean.
Also copy over sensor libs and hardware.so and hardware_legacy.so. It works fine that way. I just pull them from our CM10.1.
You rock, I'll try that tonight. I tried pulling from the stock i727 image and it didnt work. Totally didnt think about pulling the drivers from CM10
Tried copying sensorservice libakm and libsensorservice. (used the latest snapshot). Booted to the samsung screen and hangs.
Replaced the files back and it boots.
I re-read your post and forgot to copy libhardware.so. I'll try that again including the libhardware.so and update later.
Which sensor libs should I pull? I pulled the hardware legacy and hardware.so and the sensor.default.so from /hw still sticks at loading screen.
lib/hw/sensors.default.so and sensor.goldfish.so
EDIT: Are you packaging one of our kernels with it? If not that's your issue.
That is probably it.
This is out of curiosity, with 4.0.4 I did not have to flash the matching kernel. (I was running t989 with the t989 kernel with the mod installed). I would think the kernel is just calling the modules... is that not a correct assumption?

Don't get used to him lol. Any text editor will handle an updater. Extract a ROM zip go to META-INF/com/Google/android/updater-script. In that script you will see assert get rid of the lines associated with it basically anything referring to the herc.

Work has kept me from finishing up. So far I replaced all the files from the original mod and the hardware and legacy modules and autorotate still doesnt work.
In the old day the final piece always was flash another kernel, up until I did the mod I originally posted. It didnt require a kernel flash. I'm really trying to figure out the secret to why there is the disconnect between flashing vs not flashing the kernel.
BTW: It makes sense to flash the kernel as well, so no dispute there. I'll download the stock JB Kernel for the 727 and try it to see. I'm just worried about my wificalling. It has a few modules that are loaded in the 989 kernel if I recall correctly.
