I'd like you to port the ICS soft keys to Gingerbread also. I didn't even bother looking past the comment from Sahibunlimited referring to compiling because has much more knowledge regarding android than I. I did note however that the author of the article states that he backported it, and the blogspot is German, and your location is in Germany so perhaps you could email and ask him if he could share a flashable for the ICS soft buttons. In the meantime I am attaching an apk of an older free version of Syndicate Apps ICS launcher that you can try out. It's kind of slow compared to the newest version but I just don't like to be without the soft buttons. Hopefully CM9 for X10 will have a Camera and Theme Chooser soon and we can move on with soft buttons enabled.

This is project started to discuss about first jelly bean rom for Samsung galaxy ace plus gt-s7500..
As it is confirmed that galaxy ace plus will be getting jelly bean 4.1 upgrade...
This project will be started as soon as jelly bean upgrade is officially released for galaxy ace plus...
I started this thread so early to discuss about how users want that rom to be... So that I can start preparing for it from now and learn if I don't know about something...
So please everyone post your suggestions...
Also i was thinking to make a team or something for this project...
So if anyone knows any development things and wants to be part of the team then please comment below...
Even i am not a good developer so it doesn't need you to be really a great developer... All I need is that person has basic knowledge like modifying rom, editing apk files and other things too...
I don't have Linux system and don't have any experience in kernel development so we need a Kernel developer too...
If anyone wants cynogenmod and has Ubuntu than try this tool by lithid-cm called CyanogenMod Compiler

I am not too skilled to port or make cm10 from starch... All I can do now is modify stock rom and make it work much better than stock rom...

I love you bro.
1st.
If that's the case, first you should change the stock apps. (There's a list of stock apps that can be deleted without hurting your phone.
2nd.
You should add many scripts that can boost our phone to maximum speed. Like on your ROM (Ofcourse it needs init.d support).
3rd.
While learning about modding, try to learn how to port CM10. Since we'll be having Jelly Bean, there will be alot of Devs that know how to port it. Try asking them. (We also have Blackburner)
These are all suggestions, just tell me if you don't like it, I'll continue to add suggestions.
I personally like the GO Keyboard, GO Launcher, GO Locker, Quickpic (Gallery), and Handcent SMS (Messaging). (Many more though)
Sent from my GT-S7500
I love you too... LOL
Init.d support is must... About porting that I am currently learning even thou I don't have my computer...
And I was thinking of adding aroma installer so that everyone can choose between stock apps and other apps...
I can't do all alone and it seems that no one here is willing to participate...

I want to help you but I don't know anything about modding. Sorry.
The only thing I can do for the time being is gather all developers for Ace Plus.
thanks for the support
i myself tried to modify some roms with disastrous results as i pretty much was not sure of anything myself
i decided it was better to leave these type of things to experienced developers
thank you for continued support for our phones
things i would like in a custom rom for jelly bean
1 touchwiz 5.0 if you can
2 some speed enhancement tweaks
thank you :good:
Maybe it would be easier to port touchwiz5 when we get jb upgrade... I will try that...

Can the DSIXDA kitchen be used on those jelly bean roms to add some tweaks? Also, once we have the JB, it will be one thousand times easier to port Cyanogen 10 using, maybe, the galaxy nexus sources.
Enviado do meu ace plus usando atomic rom com Tapatalk 2 e SwiftKey keyboard U.U
ETA - estimated or expected time of arrival:good:
Maybe kitchen supports jb... As it supports our device in gb... Let's leave cm development to experts because I have no idea how to do that...
If anyone wants to try then search for a guide... I am sure I saw one somewhere...
All guides are for Linux system so if you anyone have Linux system i.e. Ubuntu try a tool by lithid-cm called CyanogenMod Compiler or CMC.

Guys anyone porting rom from any xperia phones???? Their ui and stock apps are really good(looks) which look way better than any sense ui(imo).
For newbies: Dont suggest that we already have xperia based roms, we only have cm based roms..
what about xperia modded rom's?
Jelly Bean Mini Project (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2197272) looks like a distant relative of Xperia devices.
Xperia-Ics (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1894680) too isn't that bad...
If you want an original port, then, try porting it yourself.:silly::laugh::laugh:

You can't just directly run apps that were designed for Xperia devices on our device. It needs a lot of modding, and, moreover, it's difficult. Porting a Sense 4.0 ROM from Desire C, from our own HTC was a hell lot difficult, and now, porting one from a device from a completely different manufacturer... Not quite as simple
So, you'd have to use the apps which are modded like them, or you'd have to wait...
P.S.: AFAIK, there is Xperia Launcher, keyboard, music application, notes application etc, which have already been modded for usage on other devices.
One does not simply copy paste inter company ROMs. Xperia based spots and themes are the best bet. Porting the compete ROM will be quite difficult

Only the fact that it requires a lot of work, and is time consuming. And, you'd need to patch the bugs that would arise.

you need to do bug fixed via smali and no one likes that.. its relatively easier if they use same soc and hardware
So no one giving it a shot huh.....
Also do we need to download any source files to port ROM from different oem. Coz I have just 32 bit Ubuntu 12.10....
If it can be done within windows ecosystem then I will give it a try .....got lot of patience to edit smali files.

How easy do you reckon it would be to create or port a GB Rom to our MIRO?
I am not a developer but I pick things up quickly. I gather, for porting you need a rom for a phone that is very very similar in hardware and spec to the miro.
I may have a go if you fine people think it is possible
its very easy....what cm version is gb? (cm9, 8, 7)?

CM7 is GB Android 2.3 I wouldnt even know where to start but I really do think it would be so popular on Miro. I think it would run way better than ICS does.
Any ideas where to start from???

tomorrow i have exams....after that i have something to do...after that i will look to port cm7 to tipo and miro (first tipo to see if it works) at which section should i post it? original development or android development (i dont know )
Sent from my Xperia Tipo using xda app-developers app
I would say original android development. That would be totally amazing. I am not a dev at all but as I said above I'm quick learner and if I could help or test in anyway just pm me
Sent from my ST23i using xda app-developers app
Im not a dev but can I ask some questions? We all know, cm7 is gb / 2.3 so the standard kernel is 2.x. Do you actually want to use cm7 2.x kernel or the original ics kernel? The hardware itself already run on 3.x kernel. If you choose 2.x, would some hardware capabilities being disabled, like it isnt there in 2.x but 3.x have it (ext4 for example). What do you say if cm7 ran on stock 3.x kernel instead? This would bring cm7 to locked bootloader too. Just a noob asking questions.
Paradox ST21i
Well I would say no. Surely it would cause hardware to not work properly.
You can't use JB for instance using ICS kernel can you? I don't know.
Bootloader is easy enough to unlock though.
I just think that ICS runs okay on the Miro but think GB would be so much smoother.
Sent from my ST23i using xda app-developers app
So no cm7 on stock ics kernel? Thats too bad for people that have unlock: no. I thought it should be easy like x8 / e16i but that phone itself ran on 2.x. Miro on gb would be faster. It would be like running xp on 8-core amd pc. Easy example is galaxy ace plus s7500. It is smoother than my custom rom tipo.
Paradox ST21i
hello guys....i ported cm7 to our tipo but it stuck at boot animation...kernel is fxp default...rom flashed successfully but i have bootloop....

no with vergeance because all cm versions need a custom fxp kernel to work for now....i think in the future we will be able to use a kernel like vergeance (i dont know it but i hope it)

I believe this is mostly because JB uses newer features and hardware specs again. I believe backward-compatibility would work easier than forward one. Therefore I agree with zzztidurvirus.
Also I doubt if it would be 'so much smoother'...
Regards, Drago
Well it is possible... but you would need to compile it from source not port it. It doesn't work like that. And second, by the time you make a stable release, fxp will probably have an even more stable release of jb.
CyanogenMod lover. Miro user. Help via PMs.
I wanted Cyanogenmod Jellybean Platlogo animation for my Galaxy Y gingerbread 2.3.6 device. It can't be updated to STABLE ics or jellybean (No type of connectivity like bluetooth, WiFi, Internet, Mobile Data, Calls can be made). If any one can help me out, any devs, please use the cyanogenmod 10 of galaxy mini (the first galaxy mini not the second) as mini's and galaxy Y's screens are all of same dimensions....(just a 5 pixel difference).
I talked aboyt CyanogenMod 10 of mini as it is jelly bean and it has the same type platlogo with an animation behind it....
