I have a rooted Xperia J 4.0.4 (A.75) with the carrier bootloader lock, I was wondering if there is any way to get around that because I want to get a custom rom on the device
tap this *#*#7378423#*#* and find this Bootloader unlock allowed :yes or no....if it is yes you can unlock bootloader and flash custom rom (cm10 etc) if no you can only install roms such as paradox, gimlo etc...

It says no, is there really no way of unlocking it, any? If so, what ROM should I be looking at then.
go to android development section ad choose paradox, gimlo, ultrabeast etc (no miui)

Hello yusharap,
Here you have an exploit that works for most of the Xperia phones (including J), I can't try it cause I do not own that phone but I have a Xperia P and I've tried this exploit and it worked so fine.

If you have ICS rom download the free version of this
http://www.unlockroot.com/download.html
Under unlock pro choose free download...
Enable debug usb on developer menu , and unknown sources for apps,so open the unlock program connect your phone to pc and click on root
If you have jelly bean you need to unlock your bootloader... Let me know!!

you can unlock the bootloader via JTag cable or send it to phone repair shop and ask them to do it for you
Hello. I'm new here, and I need your help. I have a Xperia J rooted, with stock ROM and locked bootloader. In the options it says that isn't allowed to unlock it. Does anyone knows how to unlock it or if its possible to change the ROM and how. Thanks in advance and sorry if it is in the wrong seccion.

You could Use AVD Rom or try via fastboot, downgrade to stock ICS
After making the downgrade, will the bootloader be unlocked? Sorry about the question but I'm a litle new in android roms.
