Just wondering what phone I should get next I'm looking at maybe a note 3 I have a HTC one now?

Keep the One of you can, it's great. If you really need a new phone I'd go with the LG G2 right now.

Xperia Z1 is in my Opinion the best Choice now with Android

I like big phones that's why the HTC one seems small.

Maybe I'll hold on to my HTC one till my upgrade comes will see.

What is the best phone right now

I'm curious as to find out from anyone and everyone, what is the best phone right now out....it would be great if anyone who posts on this can explain in good detail why its the best phone...arguments are accepted between why another phone may be better. I'm not a super smart person when it comes to knowing software specs and what processors are better and why....so it would be great if I can get some people to post on this for me...if this is in the wrong section please feel free to move this into where it belongs. Thank you

New phones

My contract is almost up and I've been looking at phones, both upcoming and current. I'm also on att now.
My current phone is the Samsung infuse and I've been using many ROMs on that device. I've been looking into the HTC one x+. It has amazing specs. Also the gnote 2 is incredible but it may be a lil too large for carrying around.
I've never had a HTC phone but I've heard the ui is a little bit different. Samsung has touchwiz, but that can easily be changed though flashing ROMs. Is HTC sense something that is a love hate type of deal? I'm sure the development support will be great to fix that.
Just wondering others input. Been researching.

In addition, from what I've read, the x+ doesn't have an SD card slot but has a 64 gig model. I use quite a bit of storage, but I'm sure the large model will be quite spendy.

I enjoy sense on HTC but I know some people hate it. Definitely don't think its the worst custom UI out there

Hmm. Is flashing a ROM pretty much the only way to get around sense?

Thank You

I'm not a frequent poster. Heck, I'm still not above the necessary posts for posting in Dev forums. But I wanted to delurk and say this: thank you.
I've been on XDA for a few years now, starting with the Samsung Captivate, moving on to the HTC Inspire 4G, presently on this forum and soon the One forum. In that time I've had the opportunity to see many people, many devs and countless iterations of ROMs (some of which have followed my transit, oddly).
XDA has a lot of great people: young, old and somewhere inbetween. The devs and users alike have been great on the HTC One XL. Arguably, this is one of the best groups I've frequented.
Devs: Thanks for all the tireless, sometimes thankless work. Some of you are literally half my age and are able to do things I barely understand. Remember that for every pissant whiner, there are any number of people just like me silently going along and enjoying every bit of what you do. Sense or stock, all of you make this phone fly.
Users: You guys are great, period. Funny, helpful and great bunch overall. I've seen a lot of you support the devs with bug reports, donations and sometimes just with thanks. That is awesome. Keep it up!
So, anyway. That's all I have to say for whatever it is worth. I'll be following along with the One forums. Maybe I'll talk with some of you there if/when I finally break my lurker habits.
That's funny I also went captivate -> inspire - > one x

HTC Desire > HTC One XL... both great phones but the lack of internal storage on the Desire was a huge frustration. All the crap you had to go through to store apps properly on SD was crazy. But the awesome devs made it happen for us.

Just have to say thanks as well. I gained a lot if knowledge especially from exad, venomtester, and redpoint. I used that knowledge to help others on and off the forums. This community is freaking awesome. Thanks again.

THANK YOU "bkcokota" AND OTHER XDA DEVS
I am new to this forum and especially new to rooting......
upon deciding to root my HTC ONE SV 3 days ago, and failing miserably, might i add, i followed "bkcokota" guide.
at no fault of his own i tried and tried again.......gave up, then tried and tred again......rinse and repeated this several times......then said F it and
decided to research anything i could find on the web about rooting phones........upon one more try at rooting this thing i finally got it......
i at this time.........about 5 minutes ago.......realized i was a complete "noob" as ive seen this word used alot the last couple of days.
but after researching all i could realized how easy it was to do, and at how clear bkcokota's directions were........one of those "doh"
moments obviously, wanted to thank him personally as well as all the xda members who posted their findings to this site. i couldn't post to his
original thread, because of obvious reasons, so i decided to post it here. i hope it gets to him as his guide was detrimental to succeeding at my
task.
again,
THANK YOU "bkcokota" AND ALL OTHER XDA DEVS AND MEMBERS ALIKE.
PS: "[GUIDE] Root for HTC One SV UPDATED 23/02/13 - bkcokota" was the guide i followed
Lol unfortunately you're in the wrong forum dude, this is the One XL forum

I really did love my captivate, except that I flashed roms too often and wore out the sliding battery door

While we're at it, I'd like to say thanks. Been here since the windows sliders - G1 - incredible - HOX. I never got to tell my devs how much I appreciated their work, but now I'm trying to pass my account post limit so I'm able to do so. You are all an awesome bunch, HOX/XL devs are some of the best, for sure. Please keep it up!

The Captivate has remarkable legs. I was surprised to see how much support it has after all these years. I probably would've kept it longer were it not for the SOD issue.
Incidentally, the Captivate will probably be traded in to fund the new phone.

What phone is best for me?

I just recently went from a Verizon Galaxy Nexus to the HTC One. I find myself missing my Galaxy Nexus, maybe it's the plastic feel in my hand which I've grown so used to or the available development. I like the HTC One but I don't feel like it's a phone that I'm gonna be happy with a few months from now.
I just want some input on what people would think is best for me. I'm doubtful that the Nexus 5 will make its way to Verizon or that would be my first choice.

I realize there is a discussion thread going but I would rather not sort through 600 pages of responses, I haven't checked out the Moto X development forum but I definitely like the similarities to the gnex in design

Please use the discussion thread even if you don't feel like reading/searching. They are there to keep hundreds of new threads like this one from flooding the forums
:good:

This is my next phone!

I got the M7.
I wanted to buy the M8 so bad but the price is a bit high for me, even if i would sell my M7, and i dont like the camera on the M8 so much so a phone that is cheap with the same spec is good for me, and I know that the build quality will be great because this is an HTC's phone (it will probably feel like the ONE X).
Maybe OnePlus One is better choise?
Check it out on XDA or oneplus.net
