Is MoKo Slim Cover Case good? - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Accessories

Hello,
I've bought that Case:
MoKo Slim Cover Case
I've read a lot of reviews about it (at amazon, many people gave the seller 5 stars and 4 stars)...
I watched that video before I bought it, he was talking about the magnetic issue and that this case doesn't have that problem:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bG-8b0V0Ik
Also I've read that review on Amazon: (he said that the case hasn't that problem)
http://www.amazon.com/review/R1M0VCT5DCYSS6/ref=cm_srch_res_rtr_alt_3
So I bought it..
But lately, I knew the magnetic problem and about causing permanent damage to the screen of interfere with S-Pen...
Can I just test the S-Pen while using the case to see if any problem occurs. If nothing happens then it's OK?
Or should I really just remove the magnetic from the case?
Thanks

I'me had the MoKo slim cover case since June.
I have never had the magnet problem.
It does seem to be cracking (the case) and so I have just ordered another one.
It keeps the 8 slim and light.
Enjoy

What do you mean by cracking the case?

Slight chip where the 2 magnets are that hold the case closed.
Still totally usable, but thought I'd get a spare.

I got it, you're talking about your own case
Anyone else, please share your knowledge

I've been using a Folio <http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C8T7CCK/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1> and have been quite happy with it for six months now, no problems with the magnet or S-Pen.
I have never tried to clip anything to the magnet either....hehe.

The best case to note 8.0
Protects against minor falls, from the pressure of the books in your backpack
And handy pocket for OTG cable, memory cards, adapters, headsets, phones, loot from the bank, etc.

I've been using a moko case with magnets since may with no Ill effects on the stylus. With the case flipped back, the magnets do cause a distortion in that area through the back of the device, but leaving the cover pen like a book alleviates that problem. No permanent issues.

I think I'm gonna try it today. I hope I don't regret doing that

Well,
It has been 2 weeks now and my S-pen still works good..
But the very corners where the magnets are, the s-pen seems to be diverting a little
Overall, maybe this case is a good one :good:
Note: when the case is closed, the tablet never wake up even if I set an alarm... (Tested it my self)

I have the moko slim fit multi angle case http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Slim-Fit-Multi-angle-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00BTZG7RU and the alarm works with the case being closed (I just tested it and I'm on Civz 4.2.2 rom). I also have not experienced any issues with the s-pen in the 7 months that I have had it. The quality of the case is also holding up pretty well and I use my tablet pretty much on a daily basis

I've this one:

not the "fit" version.
I tested it again just now,,, NO alarm while the case is closed

Ive been really happy with the poetic case, wont let me post link so i will rectify that. it looks exactly like the moko. When I bought it it was $4.95 with Prime so it was a killer deal.
oh yeah, alarm works when case is closed.

I figured out that only Samsung Alarm isn't working while case is closed
I used "Alarm Clock Xtreme" and it worked perfectly

Nexus One Otterbox Defender case

Decided to make a small video review on the best case for nexus one . My commuter case broke. So I called and emailed otterbox. I asked them instead a replacement being sent if I could just pay the difference. They said no problem. So I searched and searched for a video and found nothing having to do with this case. So here it is .
hxxp://www(dot)youtube(dot)com/watch?v=64cdz3WbhV0&feature=youtube_gdata_player
i actually looked for a video as well, but since there were none (yet obviously) i went ahead and bought mine as well. should be here in a few days. thanks for the video though, im sure it will help others out there.
You wont be disappointed its a little bigger than I would like but very well made

The only thing I don't like and it's not the cover fault is that if the phone ever freezes you need to take the cover apart in order to remove the battery; because there is no physical reset button on the phone.
Again it's not a cover flaw more like a phone flaw.
(On the iPhone you can press home and power button and it resets)

anyone else have the problem with the silicone skin coming off the plastic lip when placing it in the holster? i find that im frequently re-seating the silicone skin on those plastic ledges.
great f%^% case though!! best ive ever had for any phone ever.
does the N1 still fit on HTC car dock with this case?
That is the major gripe with any nexus one case..... There is NO oem product that will seat with a case. Better luck with zagg invisishield
i am personally planning on turning the holster into a car holder using the garmin suction cup arm method posted here somewhere. i dont need the holster, but it holds the phone with the case. with card dock enabled by bluetooth there really is no need for the htc dock.

it is huge and thats why it comes with a holster thats made for it. i will use that holster to make a car dock that will fit the case. thats the point.
If I didn't have the OEM desktop dock and car dock I'd probably get that. I have the Seidio innocase which is pretty easy to take off and put back on. I'd be hating life if I had to take that defender off when I got in the car. The clip is cool if you use the phone while working out or running. HTC is selling cases and a holder for the N1 now too.
My Defender bought in August 16 is falling apart where it snaps to the holster, No falls or abuse.

I use the Garmin holder but didn't need to incorporate the OB holster.
This was originally done to fit my Samsung Captivate with a Body Glove case.
Slight modifications made it work for the N1 with the Otterbox Defender.
I got this Garmin holder of Ebay for like $4 shipped (got 2 for $8 since it was cheap).
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170551993587
Since the Garmin is much bigger than most phones all you have to do is use a heat gun or any heat source to heat up the two end and mold it to the phone's shape.
1st Garmin holder
2nd back side
3rd mount on dash
4th mount on windshield (use for dash cam)
For my second holder I took the clip part of it and and used it with the Pro Clip that I had for my old N95.
There is already a discussion thread about the defender for the nexus and I believe someone posted a video in there somewhere....

Looks like it comes from the same build house as Spigen's wallet case. Like previously said, if it does the trick, I think it'd be a great case. What concerns me, though, is the mention of a magnet. That's never a good thing to have around credit cards which looks exactly like what that little insert was intended for.

What then causes the view that appears in the window to work. I am aware that a magnet over the Hall sensor on the side of the phone causes the S view to appear, what then in the S view case causes the reaction?
The S-view function certainly DOES require a magnet. It's not a magnet to hold it closed, it's a relatively small magent mounted about 1cm in from the left side near the volume down button. I had to fit one to my case with an s-view window which came without a magnet (and didn't therefore work).
A credit card mag-stripe will almost certainly be corrupted by the magnet, but then again mag-strips are dying out in favour of chip and pin or nfc. Some banks are starting to issue cards without mag-strips.

i'm wondering how strong the magnet is at keeping the case closed? i don't want to drop the phone and have the case open and the phone land on the screen and break
I have the official Samsung flip cover (basically same as S view) and after three days with it on, I no longer had any issue with it not staying closed. Once you "break it in" it remains closed just fine. A month later and it stays shut on its own no problem.
I originally ordered one of $12 "Samsung" versions off Amazon. The front of the cover was the same quality as the OEM from Best Buy, but it said "Galaxy SIV" rather than "Galaxy S4" (not a big deal, maybe even a plus for some users) however, the back cover was junk. Didn't match the phone, didn't fit properly and was thicker than the OEM. I ended up selling it on Craigslist a few days later. Very happy with the OEM version and the discount I got with a Best Buy coupon. I'm considering the S view version when it drops in price a bit, but probably won't risk the "Samsung" versions on eBay and Amazon.

I wouldn't recommend the case in my picture (not the one being discussed by the OP, I have no experience of it) to anyone. The label saying "premium leather" is a plain old lie. Even gluing a magnet to the cover to enable s-view mode is only partly effective as you can't answer a call with a swipe because the window is too thick.
See my thread about it here

Cases That Allow QI Charging?

Does anyone have first hand experience with cases that allow QI charging? I'm getting my phone back from screen repair today ($200 later) so I guess it is time to buy a case. Never needed one on my others phones and they all survived, but so be it.
What cases have you guys used that allow wireless charging to function properly? I am tempted to get just the tempered glass, but then I know I'll break the back or side somehow, so I might as well get a case.
Anyone using a case with QI?
The cheap tpu s line cases work fine. Also, dbrand skin and bumper work. All from personal experience.

You can use all of those without taking them off or taking them apart at all? I'm looking for something that'll protect the phone in a drop, yet I can pull it out of my pocket and straight on the charger. No off and on case.
I really appreciate your answers guys.
I'm liking the look of the cruzerlite. It seems like it should offer regular drop protection. Do you agree?
Now do you think the cruzerlite will work with any of the tempered glass protectors? I'm paranoid of breaking this phone now. I actually bought the S4 and returned it and decided I liked my N4 enough to get it repaired for $200. Just love this phone and need to make it last until nexus 5 at least lol.

Yes none have to come off to charge and the Resolute will charge it just requires a precise placement and then still stops charging but it's easy to remove if I need to charge.
Final question I promise, do MOST cases allow me to use a tempered glass screen protector with them?
I'm thinking of just buying a few cases at best buy today and returning whatever I don't like.
I would really like tempered glass because my beloved ghost armor did nothing at all to prevent my phone from being destroyed.
I use a simple sleeve case by Gizmoskin. Although it is so easy to take the phone out of the sleeve, you can leave it in and still get wireless charging through the sleeve.

Does anyone know of any good SOFT cases for the S4?

Can anyone recommend a good SOFT case for the S4?
I'm finding it almost impossible to find a case that is neither too small, nor overly large.
My primary requirements are these:
1. Top opening (sides and top, like backpacks, are fine)
2. Permanently sewn belt strap (or an ALICE system).
3. If there's an accessory pocket, that's gravy. But I'll take one without.
The closest thing I could find was this: http://www.pearstone.com/detail?sku=742014
The problem with this is that the belt strap is useless. It closes with velcro and a piddly snap button on a tiny strip.
I appeal to the knowledge of the collective and ask if anyone has come across a good soft case that would work for me?

I also found that site just a couple of days ago, looking for a leather belt case. There are not many things specifically designed for the S4, but most of the stuff is handmade, so many items can be customized to your specific dimensions, you just have to ask the seller and see what the extra cost would be.
I bought one of these. The phone fits in it loosely without a problem.

Thanks, but I'm not looking for a holster. I'm looking for something that completely surrounds the phone and has a zip closure.
The surrounding, as I learned, is important to avoid water damage when it's raining out, and the zip closure because any sort of velcro or snap closure eventually gets loose and comes open when it's not supposed to.
I lost a phone to that, years ago. Since then, nothing but zippers, and never that problem again.

where do you use the device ??
in Cherapunji ??
just use a normal case and slight rain wont damage an s4 ...
there are vids on youtube whr ppl are washing s4s' in sink ... !
That doesn't make it a good decision.
In any case, a soft case like a camera pouch is what I prefer. I've been looking everywhere, but have had a surprisingly hard time finding something.

Well some times in life you hav to settle with things ....
I was looking for god ... but in the end
......had to settle for an s4 !!!
I don't like using a skin on a cell phone. I have always preferred holding the naked phone. That means a soft case is the best option for storage and carry. And I have found camera pouch style cases to be the best way to go about this, so that's what I'm looking for.
It seems like nobody makes these for phones anymore. Instead, look for 5" GPS cases. Many of them will fit S4.
Picked one of these up at Best Buy and it fits pretty good:

The case is thick and heavy. I used the similar one on my old G-tablet ever. To be honest, quality pretty good.
I've used the poetic and isvo slim cases before and they are nice, I actually think they are made by the same company.
The Fintie Ultra Slim on Amazon would probably meet your needs.
There's this Orzly Slim Rim tablet case I saw on Amazon. Its got a sleep sensor and also looks quite slim
It only has two stand positions so one less than the other one someone posted on this thread but to be honest, 2 positions are all you really need.
Definitely check that one out!

You can find it here: http://www.oiostore.com/nexus-9-heat-setting-flip-leather-case-nexus9-slimfit-clip-case-p-382.html
The case is thick and heavy. I used the similar one on my old G-tablet ever. To be honest, quality pretty good.

There's this Orzly Slim Rim tablet case I saw on Amazon. Its got a sleep sensor and also looks quite slim
It only has two stand positions so one less than the other one someone posted on this thread but to be honest, 2 positions are all you really need.
Definitely check that one out!

Orzly Slim Rim brought, i will come back here and update you all with my opinion in a few days. I also brought the orzly glass screen for nexus 9 which was recommended with the product

Check out IVSO
I just bought one of these. Didn't get it yet, so no review.
(I can't post a link so just search for this on Amazon: IVSO Google Nexus 9 8.9-inch Ultra-Thin Slim Smart Cover Case with Auto Sleep/Wake Function)

I got the "MoKo Ultra Slim Lightweight " case for my Nexus 9 and its pretty damn nice for the price. It's almost a clone of the Poetic and IVSO.
The drawback though is that it is tough to take it out of the case. With the design being so identical to the Poetic and IVSO cases, its possible that this could be a problem across all 3 brands.
The one major difference for the IVSO case (based on Amazon photos ive seen) is that the cover magnet clasps onto the magnets on the case . The Poetic and Moko cases have cover magnets that clasps on the pre-existing magnets on the Nexus 9.
You can see pics of my Moko slim case here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-9/accessories/nexus-9-t2908774/page20#post57057212
I got the ISVO and its just like the Moko I have for my Nexus 7. Both have a hard back and tri-fold cover with magnets in the back portion to hold the cover closed. Really protects the corners, and front when closed

MoKo Ultra Slim Lightweight ftw
Fits Nexus 9 perfectly. Everything is accessible, the case is light and sturdy. I like the hard plastic rim and corners ( which rise ever so slightly above the glass) that give great protection.
