What to you mean???Elaborate what???

I am having this problem as well. After using my Bluetooth headset the volumes will not return to the levels I had without the Bluetooth headset connected. It also happens on my Galaxy Nexus running Kit Kat so I think it is an OS issue. I do notice that the volume icon that comes up on the screen when attempting to change the volume is different than normal as it doesn't have the 2 "soundwaves" coming out of it. I have yet to find a fix other than turning the phone off and back on.

Please forgive my ignorance, but what is "headset mode"?

EDIT: nvm, I get it.
Google results suggest that the problem may be due to dirt in the jack.

I tried an app about a minute ago, that called SoundAbout and seems is a good temporary solution for the problem. If someone else tried something else and it worked for him please let me know.

I agree, probably not dirt in your case. So, what do you think? RMA?

I dont know, I think is a combination of a hardware and software issue. Maybe sth get contacted in jack and facted up my nexus.

My old Xperia randomly did this. Just keep plugging the headset in and out until it clears

I think it is a kitkat issue. I have the same problem but after a restart the problem is gone until i connect my headset again

This same thing happens to me. Its weird whenever i connect my bluetooth the audio starts to come out of the device's earset (where you put your ear). I have to restart the phone to fix it until I connect a bluetooth again. When I use the volume buttons I see a different bar (like when you are on a call or something) instead of the bar to adjust ringtone's volume. It is super annoying. Sometimes music comes out of the speakers but if I open an app that speaks over bluetooth (waze for example) the music audio stops coming from the speakers and starts coming out the ear speaker on the phone..
What I do to replicate this is to connect a bluetooth headset. Turn on music (google music) open waze.. Audio starts coming out the ear speaker instead of the phones speaker..
Any fix??

Did you find any other solutions for the problem?

I too have this issue. Same on two handsets. Connect to bluetooth and works fine. Disconnect and all future audio comes out of earpiece hole until you reboot and then back to the speaker.

Anyone found a solution for this? I have the same problem.

Workaround

I may have a workaround for this issue.
This problem has been driving me crazy. The first time after a reboot, my Nexus 5 connects to my car audio just fine via bluetooth. But after I shut the car off, the phone's speaker is turned off, and all audio plays through the earpiece. Additionally, the next time I try to connet to my car's Bluetooth, it will no longer play audio through the bluetooth connection (although I can still control the device via bluetooth).
Rebooting the phone fixes it, but it's a pain to always be turning the phone on and off, and if I'm already in my car, it won't re-establish the connection if I restart my phone while the car's still running.
I downloaded the free 'Fast Reboot' app, which essentially closes and restarts all core user processes. Sure enough, launching 'Fast Reboot' seems to fix the problem... at least until the next time I disconnect.
It seems something in Kit Kat is locking the audio to the earpiece after a bluetooth disconnect. I've got my fingers crossed that the upcoming Android update fixes this problem for good. :fingers-crossed:
In the meanwhile, let me know if Fast Reboot does the trick for you too.

Thanks for the workaround, it works well. I think google will fix this in the next update, it only says "Bluetooth fixes" right now but what else are they gonna fix? Well, i hope they will.

[Q] Music & Voice Dialer Issue

I have this repeating problem with my music while an auxiliary cord is plugged into the headphone jack and I am listening to music in my car, it seems whenever the connection to the headphone jack gets moved or bumped the phone instantly pauses the music or even sometimes switches the song and the Voice Dialer will pop up and wait for a command..I have tried to find settings to turn off the voice dialer or at least configure the way it is turned on.
I have found a couple posts with people complaining of the same problem on other websites, however none of them seemed to have found a solution so I am posting here with hopes of finding a solution!

I have been having the same problem but I can't find a solution either. It also happens when I have regular headphones in.

I am glad someone else is having the same issue, I still have this problem persisting and have tried flashing several roms, I am currently on CM7 and having this issue still. I think that it may be a hardware issue, I may return my phone to Radioshack and see if a new device fixes the problem.

Headphones (Line Out) Interferes with Bluetooth Audio?

So here's a baffling issue. At first I thought this was a bug, but its actually a feature!
If you have a headset plugged into the phone and you receive a call on Bluetooth, the phone will give priority to the headphone audio instead of the Bluetooth. You must unplug the headphone jack in order to hear the caller.
I use Bluetooth for my hands-free calling when driving and a line out cable for my music. If I get a call I have to unplug and replug and restart my music manually. Kinda not hands free anymore.
I don't understand why the phone behaves this way. My Droid Incredible was perfect with this functionality and that's a two year old device.
Is anyone aware of a work around or solution to this issue? The expected behavior is to pause music when I get a call and have audio go through the Bluetooth instead of the headset, automatically resuming the music once I hang up. This is how it worked on my dinc at least.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

I'm thinking about making a NFC tag to automate toggling music.. still a lowsy work around though. Can't wait for an AOSP daily driver.

[Q] Bluetooth issues

Is anyone lse having problem with bluetooth. I paired my nexus 5 with my car without problem but when I stream music I run into issues. At first I thought only the left channel was coming through but then I realized the right channel was there only with volume so low it was barely audible. Also, adjusting the volume on the phone (for the bluetooth output) has no effect on the volume.
Any ideas?

Nexus 5 Audio Leak from Speaker with Headphones connected?

Hey guys, I know the title sounds weird but has anyone gotten the problem of Audio coming out of both headphones and speaker randomly while listen to music or watching a video?
I have a 32GB nexus 5 and I was watching a video and all of a sudden the volume went down and I could hear from my headphones and speaker as well. Just wondering if it's just my device or someone else is also having this problem.
If so, you think it's a software issue or hardware? Cause if it is, I'm gonna get it returned or exchanged asap.
Bump. Anyone has this problem?

Lool. Thanks for the thanks.
Trust me I did that. When i watch YouTube sometimes and put it landscape the audio starts coming out from the speaker while headphones are plugged in. I reboot the phone then everything goes fine but sometimes it comes back again. This was the second time so I am worried whether it's a hardware issue of software. I feel it's software.

Just to echo: I had the same problem whilst listening on poweramp on my headphones, I declined a call by sending a text and all of a sudden I have audio coming out of headphones and speakers. Very embarassing on the tube!
I have restarted the phone and all seems to be good, but Google need to fix this.
I got the Mobile on the day before yesterday, and yesterday only I first connected the headphone, and I experienced similar issue. While playing music through PowerAmp, all of a sudden the volume on the headset gone low, and I heard its coming through speaker also. I pushed the jack all the way in, but the problem persist all the day long. when I put the jack in, it starts playing on the headphone only, and randomly it starts leaking. while playing through headphone whenever I press the power button, it starts leaking, whenever I go to the eq screen on the poweramp it starts leaking. along with that it starts leaking randomly. Today after seeing this post I rebooted and till then I have not experienced it again. Please let me know, did u RMA it? or the problem solved?
If anyone else has a opinion or a suggestion please respond.
On a side note, my speaker volume is terribly low, I didn't know there was a shutter sound exist, until I read from the forum today.
Bump
Sent from hell through N5. Oh, yes, it works here too

I have a similar problem with my nexus 7, after buying a new audio jack/ micro USB port assembly. About two days ago the audio just stopped coming out of my headphones and instead plays from the speakers and I have know idea whats going on, if it is the assembly then I've wasted $70.
Bump Galaxy Tab A SM-T550
Same here.. Android 4.4.2. with PowerAmp.
When I'm listening "poweramp" I put to charge the audio leaks from the speaker
Just had that happen on LineageOS 14.1 (based on Android 7.1.2) OnePlus 2
While watching a YouTube video.
After doing some tests I found that it was happening when a notification was received during playback. The notification sound was coming through the phone and after that the media sound was also coming from the phone.

Honor 8 B389 BT audio issues?

So. I use a lot of BT audio solutions. Speaker, headset and carBT etc.
Mainly after the Nougat update and mainly in the car it's like the connection just spasms out and audio starts playing through my speakers on the phone instead of the car.
Works fine for a while, and I stop the car for a while and starts it again it works just for a moment. Then out of nowhere while driving (say 5 min) it just stops playing from the car and the phone takes over.
Anyone else have these issues? And is there a way to chose the audio output? I use Google Play Music

Plz try a factory reset and check if the issue is with bluetooth. Also remove power saving options as bt and wifi may disconnect after enabling power saver .
