Hey guy's I'm new to the forum and was wondering if there is any easy ways to unlock, root and install clockwork recovery using a mac computer? Everything I find online is for using a windows pc. I'm currently using snow leopard is and updated my sensation to ICS. Please help with info not negative feedback! I know I'm a noob, I have no shame in that. Thanx.

Hi welcome, I've also done a search on rooting with mac and found many questions with few answers as you know.it might even be easier if no one has any clear answers for you to borrow a friend's windows computer and to root that way . It won't take that long and will be a whole lot easier for you. I'm truly sorry I don't have a clear answer but I wanted to offer this solution. If it were me, this is what I would do. I wish you the best and if you don't find a definite answer, this could be a option for you. Good luck. Keep us posted on what you decide to do.

Sprint's been doing something to the tower closest to my house and I've been permaroamig at my house going on 3 weeks now. Sprint told me it might be a while before they fix the problem. I've been missing calls and they only go through when I force my phone to roam. It sucks because it only happens at my house. lol its happening to my dad's completelt stock shift too so I know its not an issue with my phone. Both of our phones work fine as soon as we switch towers.

Before updating your radios do this:
1) Update profile, reboot phone.
2) Update PRL, reboot phone.
3) If you are not using cellular radio 1.08.01.0111 here is the link:

If your talking about the ones on THIS thread. There is a video in the OP on how to. But if you don't have time, or don't want watch ( although I would suggest you do ) , there are written instructions in the OP. It's always a good idea to read the OP a least once, just in case.

how did you manage to root this tablet... I'm stuck in a bootloop, so first I need to go to recovery mode (which I cannot find)... Can I put firmware on SD card and install OS again to fix this?

Hi bsdnix, I have written up a small tutorial on my website regarding the rooting of this tablet, you can find it here http://johnstone-tech.co.uk. Any queries just leave me a comment on the blog or fire me an email at [email protected]
Ever since i upgraded my note II to 4.3 none of my fake gps apps work anymore. I used it a lot in a game i play and am very frustrated that i cant anymore. Does anyone here know how get it working again? My phone is rooted, but the bootloader is still locked. Ive almost bricked it once already trying to flash roms, so im hesitant to try again until i can get a new phone and use this as backup.

You can unlock bootloader and even change your ROM. Search your device type here on xda and read first the comments from the people who already have changed their ROMS. If they don't have significant problems why should you worry.

Im not so much worried about the process, im more worried about screwing it up lol. I am a noob to rooting and flashing roms. But thanks for replying.

Try downloading "Fake GPS Pro" from the play store, it works with android 4.3
Hey xda developers,
I am new to all of this and I am interested to know what are some pros and cons of rooting an android device. I have rooted my Nexus 5 already and now that that's done...well basically I don't know what to do next. I've always been told that you can do more with a rooted device, but what exactly can I do? I am a newbie, but I am eager to learn. Thanks for your help and support!
Lots of threads already exist for that (new available apps, custom kernel, blabla...)
There's a big sticky thread at the top of this forum that explains all this.
Thanks for the feedback and pointing me in the right direction.

all rooting does is give you permission to change system files. thats all that you need root for. rooting does nothing else.
One CON is that the whole phone will be wiped out so back your SD partition up beforehand.

no. unlocking your bootloader wipes your phone. flashing supersu does nothing of that kind.
No Con's just Pro's on XDA!
