how did you manage to root this tablet... I'm stuck in a bootloop, so first I need to go to recovery mode (which I cannot find)... Can I put firmware on SD card and install OS again to fix this?

I just got my wifi only Xoom today. I also have a Motorola Atrix, which is rooted and running a custom rom. I was reading on here about rooting and kernels and other things and I didn't understand it. Can someone please help me understand the differences between the Xoom tablet and an android phone. Thanks

They are practically the same, but methods for rooting devices change per device. The Xoom requires a little extra work.
Do you have the JDK and Android Development Kit installed on your PC?
Are you comfortable with command lines?
Can you afford to purchase another Xoom if you brick this one?

I'm new to this site and I'm not sure this is where to post, but I just got a new MID tablet for Christmas and I think I accidentally wiped my /system using ADB. Now whenever I turn my tablet on it just sits at boot logo with little light shimmering around it. I've tried hard reset and everything. Please, if anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

I used to have a WM8650 and had to restore it with a method almost identical to this. Download this firmware http://www.agptek.com/download/V775(8850)-Update.rar here and extract it to an SD card that has been formatted. Pop the SD card into tablet and power on. It "should" go ahead and install the firmware. If not we might have to look for another firmware. Hope that helps

It seems there are many clones for this particular tablet so not all the stock firmwares will work

Yes I still have the problem. It's just sitting in my room because I have no idea how to fix it
My mate has bought this Android set top box made my Strong. Model number is NRT-4
Seems to be running very generic vanilla ICS but he want's to run an app on both phone and STB which allows him to control the STB from his phone but the STB server app requires root.
No threads exist here for it so I guess no one has any confirmed method for rooting it yet. Is there a method for rooting generic android devices? It requires SU and Busybox. Cheers
Sorry my englisch is not that great and could you provide a picture of it or a link?
Then maybe I could help you

You can just download the stock rooted version. Is way easier and you won't have problems.

I've tried myself and I ended up saying that I have something modded or something from the ota download. I finish downloading the ota for sense 5.5 and I've tried to lock the hboot and unlocked. Same results no matter what. I think it's the missing apps. The calculator and some others. Just download the stock rooted. You'll end up rooting the phone anyways. What is the point of that?
Ok so verizon sent to new update and now I lost Fox-FI wifi.
My question is, can I go back to the last version?? I think it was Jelly bean right.?
Is there a way to do this or am I screwed until fox fi comes up with a fix. and/or have to root?
I would just like to go back to the last version versus rooting..
Thanks for the input.....

what? you receives OTA update for kit kat? your phone is xt926? You can post a print of about phone?
Nvm!!
He has the original Razr. Not an HD.
DO NOT ALLOW THE OTA! IT MAY LOCK YOUR BOOT OR UNROOT YOU FOREVER!
If any others get the same update choose download but choose not now & the ota will be in cache. Cut/move it with a root browser to your Ext SD. We want that file!
Please post a screen shot of your phone info page. There is easy screenshot free.
You are the 1st guinea...
Have you ever unlocked you boot?
Okay so here to screenshots of the new Kik Kat. You'll see on the settings there's a new icon saying Network Monitored.. So what should I do. I'm not rooted nor have I done that other big thing someone was talking about.
